Jovichick ((hugs)) know what ypu're going through, we lived in a downstairs flat when DS1 was a baby with 4 rugby players in the 2 bedroom flat above who partied most nights. Maybe invite a neighbour in and ask another to walk across the floor and talk while they are there, I did that with the lads above from me, they seriously had no idea how loud it was and did make a bit of an effort from then. Could be double evil, get up at 5am and vacuum when they've been up late, make as much noise as early as possible, but of course can cause more issues.

Pigpen I don't know how you do it, that uniform is so expensive!!! The SEN school DS1 is going to they use same uniform through from primary to seniors, sweaters and polo shirts only £10 coats are £18 no blazers etc so feel quite lucky. I've been mean this year with them both, am only buying what they NEED, stuff from last year that fits like trousers etc they can manage with for now. Got £58 of stuff ordered for DS1 from the school (2 sweaters, 2 polo shirts and a coat) and spent £120 on other things they needed inc shoes etc, not getting anything else.

Michelle good luck getting all that done, hope everything goes to plan so you can get away for your break.

JillD - Agree with chicken pox = piriton, god send as my DS2 had it 3 times, tried and tested most methods, if you use calamine I got the calamine in aquaeous**sp cream, stops it drying out as nasty. Have you had your immunity tested ? Pleased to hear your Dad is better.

Becca ((hugs)) hope you're back is better soon, I recruit my DS2 when moving sofas, he's huge for a 6 year old and can move it easier than me :o Think maybe next time you could do with recruiting a helper to save your back.

So far not so good here, DS2 wet the bed again so duvet in wash now, everything else stripped waiting to go in, pleased it's nice so far got 2 loads out now. Living room hasn't been touched, been waiting for DP to take DS2 out with him, just gone so will make a start soon. Kitchen getting 'dug out' today, going to start reorganising every cupboard. I keep sorting through then shoving things back in as it gets late so not going to put it all back until it's sorted. Oh then there is the tubs sort.

    Here goes my list

Level 3 living room, boy does it need it
Kitchen empty all cupboards and resort
Put all stuff back organised in kitchen
[strike]Sort through new cupboard for a pan space
    Put new pans away [/strike]
    Dailies
    Clear dining table, again!
Laundry- too much- wash, dry & put away
    [strike]Sort tins into boxes
Sort plastic tubs, find lids, organise into something [/strike]
    Sort through one junk box
Sort stuff for RC club meeting tonight inc shop stock to take
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

    Hi all,

Not a good start to the day - stupid, ignorant neighbours in flat above us decided to wake DS up at 2.45am by sitting in room above him, laughing excessively loudly and jumping about on their floor  I really do feel today that 18 year old kids should not be allowed to rent their own property, esp. not above a young child - it's happened 4 nights in a row....

We had DS in our bed for a while but TBH it was just as loud in our room so he had no chance of getting back off to sleep - he's just fallen asleep on the sofa in front room so have no chance of doing any cleaning til he wakes up

Thanks and will check back later,

    Sarah xx

Sarah, how frustrating that must be!!
Have you tried talking to your neighbours? I think I would go ballistic if that happened to me!.. once.. okay.. it happens.. but not 4 night in a row!
How about you? did you catch up on some sleep?

    Good morning everyone

We came back from sunny Skegness on Saturday to a rainy Scotland, I have 4 loads of wet washing, 1 of these is on the drying screen, it looks like I have to use the tumble dryer.

If it is ok with you guys, I am ready to join in fully with the list again, the house was tidy before we went on holiday but the kitchen is full of stuff now that came out of the suitcases, including Skeggie sand!!

My kids only have a week left of the summer holidays it has gone fast this summer, I will miss them when they go back, I love having them home, not having to set the alarm. So list today is as follows:

Kitchen (level 1 and 2 at least)
    [strike]ironing[/strike]
    TD
visit to optician (DD broke the leg off her glasses while on holiday)
tidy and hoover living room (kids can do their share)
    put suitcases in the loft
    make two birthday cards

that is enough to get on with for the moment.

Hope you all have a lovely sunny day today.. :grouphug:

    Just updating my list:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [STRIKE]
Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces just the granite to do when I have washed up which I can't do until the vinegar is finished doing it's thing on the draining board
    [/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    Clean floors always last
[strike]Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances[/strike] removed all the magnets from the fridge - wonder if anybody will notice - they did but they're not bothered - result
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
    [/strike]
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary) still has the stuff to be rehomed on it so will be last - nearly clear now
    Level Three
[strike]Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
    [/strike]
    [STRIKE]
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
[/STRIKE] I get a bit more off each week so getting cleaner all the time

    Declutter mission task
Sort any cupboard, doesn't have to be in the kitchen/dining room, even if it's just for 10 minutes - toy cupboard when I get to the living room

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    [STRIKE]
    Wipe light switches and banister
    [/STRIKE]
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
    [STRIKE]
Tidy shoes, coats and bags - in kitchen [/STRIKE]
DS1 coat tiny - he has grown so much this year - in washing machine to go away for DS2 as still in great condition
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Downstairs toilet
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it desk as always
    • Try to get to the lottie
    • DS3 swimming lesson he does not want to go - need to check if it is on actually
    • Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over always do them like this - takes most time to go round things
    • Clean a window in these rooms, only need to do one but you can of course do more if you like DS2 did last week - if no marks will leave
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. I did this last week and had 4 bags, one for each of us, once they were filled they were all given their own misplaced things to deal with :DDo this daily anyhow
Pigpen do you buy all uniform new? - my kids are great at having stuff handed down from one to the other or from the second hand stall the PTA run at school - it only gets covered in mud/ink anyhow and that way I can have heaps to save the worry on the washing.

    It is all usually new.

There is no facility to buy it used from any of the schools, though if some comes up in charity shop I snap it up! I save what is salvagable but there is never enough, usually they are wrecked or it is too long to save it for the next one.. I refuse to keep things 3-4 years until they fit the next one down and because we went B, G, B, G, B, G, G, G it usually means a 3 year gap before it would be worn again. the older 3 are up to high school, The boys are going to the same one but DS2 is so much smaller than DS1 was.. and I sold all DS1's stuff he hadn't wrecked/lost to a friend when her son started there the year after mine.. 4 years ago! The younger ones have yellow polo shirts which 2 of them share.. I used to buy white.. then I grew a brain!! DD1 is at a different high school to the boys (theirs being all boys lol) so her uniform is different and all her friends are about 2ft taller so I can't even blag their stuff as it is still too big.. in fact most probably wouldn't fit her when she leaves!! DS 3 is having DS2's trousers from this year and I bought a couple of pairs for DD2 which were too big from charity shop. I am making all of DD4's uniform.. just need to get myself into gear... but I got some gorgeous quality grey fabric dirt cheap from a mens outfitters for next to nothing... that should do her a couple of pinafores and trousers.. it is impossible to find school clothes as 2-3!!! She is 5 in November but TINY

Just went to put BBQ away (why can't DH do this???) it fell on my ankle - god it hurt, came in to put ice on it. Picked up a catalogue to sit down for 5 minutes whilst the ice numbed it and cut my finger on the paper! Need to find the arnica cream and a plaster now - hope I don't fall off the chair getting to the first aid cupboard - if I don't post within the hour somebody please help.

OK. Shopping delivered and all put away. Even sorted out the tins. Had to - they all fell over when I tried to put some more in :D

All washing dry and put away. The sky is looking a bit black now so I'm glad that's done.

Just done tins cupboard myself, now all arranged into boxes so they can't fall over :D Those 79p Ikea boxes are a godsend!!! I can stack tins higher without them falling :o all in order aswell of what type of things are in them so should be easier to find stuff. 4th load of washing in, I think there is about 2 more to go, DP & DS2 still out so just me and DS1 who is in one of his moods, was going to try to get him to help with the plastics sort but I don't think it'll be worth the hassle.

Time to unpack my new pans as I now have a space :D after I finish my coffee and have a mooch around. Will no doubt be back later. Oh list will be up early tonight as we're out.

Oh damn just realised why the dogs have been hounding me, I forgot to feed them, best do that first :o I've never ever forgot to feed them, must have been a rough morning, need more coffee!
One day I might be more organised...........
