When my DD was little I used to buy the boxes of Pampers nappies from Asda and then used the empty boxes as storage ;) Once "backed" in some old wallpaper or whatever they're very handy, still using some of them now and DD is 6 :D

I just got some books down from the loft packed in one of these boxes and DS2 is 11 I know they are not from DS3 as I used washables with him.

Sorry morning all - look at all my posts - like buses none for ages and then lots together.

Just catching up on the thread from yesterday - up early as some alarm kept going off down here at 5:00 with the song 'had a bad day' - somebody sure will be when I find the culprit! For now silence which is good as I have a stinker of a headache left over from Legoland yesterday - just given in and took some tabs, wish I had done so last night.

Back to feeling not where to start as so much seems to need doing so humming 'start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start ...'

I will finish reading the posts and then create a list, only had 2 cups of tea so far so there is time.

I will keep on posting until you all get up - it is time to fly ladies get out of bed.

Finished reading now, hugs to all of you with poorly kidies.

Going to make another cup of tea and make a start on the kitchen from yesterday. I could spend all day on here - oh haven't done my piggy clicks from yesterday but will save that excitement until I need a break later. x

Welcome home AnW'mum I was thinking of you all last week, keep strong x

    Morning all!

Mark had to be out of the house this morning at 6.30am, so I'm sat here just having 'one more' cup of coffee before I get started.

I've got a load of work to do that I've been putting off, but the deadline is Thursday so I really need to get it done today or tomorrow. It comes to something when I'm using housework to put off other jobs :rotfl:

Aiming for level 3 again today, but my vacuum cleaner died on Saturday - I think it was the shock of me actually using it again - so won't be able to hoover the stairs until Mark gets chance to look at it. Luckily we have hard floors throughout downstairs, so I can still get them clean.

Also want to take down the lightshades in the living room and dining room and clean them. I did ask Mark to take them down last night, but strangely enough they're still up on the lights

Anyway, off for 'one more' coffee and then I really must get started.

    Sal

I need more coffee before I do ANYTHING today :o My plan is to just straighten the kitchen and then have a bath & go to the post office, home briefly to pick up picnic stuff and then off to the petshop/park with DD :D

You might be thinking "Why would Nicki be taking her daughter to a petshop when they have no pets?", well we're NOT getting one but if you have a look at this link then you'll understand why we're going...it's huge! http://www.listerdrivefisheries.co.uk/

Right, more coffee, emails to be sorted and then I'm off for a bath. Livingroom can wait until tomorrow :shhh:

Bother kids are up - 2 tv's on now so no peace. All seem quite tired though - must be they have not started fighting yet. OK need to see how much I have done off the list:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One

Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces just the granite to do when I have washed up which I can't do until the vinegar is finished doing it's thing on the draining board
    Level Two
    Clean floors always last
[STRIKE]Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances[/STRIKE] removed all the magnets from the fridge - wonder if anybody will notice
[STRIKE]Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
    [/STRIKE]
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary) still has the stuff to be rehomed on it so will be last
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
    [/STRIKE]
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Declutter mission task
Sort any cupboard, doesn't have to be in the kitchen/dining room, even if it's just for 10 minutes - toy cupboard when I get to the living room

Tuesday Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level 1
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
    Level 3
    Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Tidy shoes, coats and bags - in kitchen
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
    Downstairs toilet
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

    • Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it desk as always
    • Try to get to the lottie
    • DS3 swimming lesson
    • Clear one shelf, dust and replace items after giving them a wipe over always do them like this - takes most time to go round things
    • Clean a window in these rooms, only need to do one but you can of course do more if you like DS2 did last week - if no marks will leave
    • Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. I did this last week and had 4 bags, one for each of us, once they were filled they were all given their own misplaced things to deal with :DDo this daily anyhow
Right going to do the fridge and start a shopping list then to the shower for me.

    Morning!

dustykitten Yes, I think the tomatoes have blight - not really surprised. I don't know why I bother growing them outside, as I never get a crop. I tried Ferline one year, which is supposed to be blight tolerant. Very true, the foliage remained free, but all the fruit was blighted, and I don't eat the leaves...

Off the plot in a minute, as I have to get it in decent shape before we go away on holiday. Weeding the new raspberry bed today, and sowing some leaf beet in the winter veg bed.

At home, only the sitting room to do, as the hall, stairs and landing are newly decorated, so completely clutter, cobweb and spider free, for a day or two at least! Any good tips for getting little wispy bits of cobwebs off artex ceilings?

I put the books back on the bookcases yesterday evening, and have a stack to take to the Oxfam bookshop. Now all I have to do is get OH to put his books on the shelf...
