Thanks Kingstreet... I am seriously losing face with my broker/admin team!!
Do you think I should ring Natwest myself? The last email I got from my broker/admin girl was this:
"As previously advised, your file was randomly selected for audit, which happens to a proportion of all the new mortgage applications received by NWIS. This means that as well as the documents we would normally have to supply to enable them to review your application, NWIS sepcified that there were some additional requirements to be satisfied.
Although we already held on file most of the information they required, there were some gaps in Paul’s payslips which you kindly attended to as quickly as you were able. Also, the auditors required some items that needed to be requested directly by NWIS (namely a reference from Paul’s employer, and a letter of authority to contact HMRC for verification of your earnings).
We have supplied the relvant documents to NWIS as quickly as possible, however they are currently working to a service standard of 4 working days from receipt of documents to scan to file and initially acknowledge receipt. Following this initial acknowledgement, the underwriters and auditors both require sight of your file and supporting documents on order to complete the sign-off process. Their turnaround times are dependent upon their workload at the time, however are usually approximately 2 to 3 days.
I faxed over the documents last Saturday evening. NWIS’s processing staff are not in the office on Sundays, nor were they working on Monday due to the bank holiday. The documents were scanned to your file on Thursday, and passed to the underwriters and auditors for review. They expect to complete their review before close of business tomorrow so they are still slightly ahead of service standard.
I appreciate that you are anxious to hear a positive outcome as soon as possible, and hope that this email offers you some reassurance that your case is currently within normal timescales.
I’ll be in touch as soon as I receive any further news"0 -
my broker told me the same about the 4 day thing, but its been going on for 4 weeks. im starting to wish i had just applied myself direct with a bank instead of using a broker, as they dont seem to be making the situation any better0

Ours took so long, from application to offer 8 weeks. It was the most stressful thing ever and Natwest kept asking for more and more documents.0

So my experience on dealing with any mortgage application (or any company for that matter) is to assume that they will do nothing and you must follow them up regularly - i adopt a daily phone call approach and make a polite pest of myself. I discovered that once I submitted all the paperwork, payslips etc. got the originals sent back to me by return of post, a phone call to them highlighted that it hadnt been allocated correctly under the items they were after. once i was past that step i needed them to allocate a task to a work queue, then follow up until they had assessed the paperwork. that step is a 48 hour SLA but it took 7 working days with daily calls! I had a mortgage move to accept , the valuation was fine was told i had an offer and it would be issued in 48 hours and then the underwriter rejected it. until the underwriter had reviewed and ok'd it you should remain cautious0

Oh My Goodness!! WE GOT THE MORTGAGE accepted
Now for the valuation but I reckon the hardest part is done now! What a weight off my shoulders... I can now start to relax and looking forward to relocating

Hi all,
New user here, we reserved a new build at the beginning of April, waited 2 weeks for Help to Buy Authority to Proceed and our application was made to Natwest on 17 April. Natwest then requested a proof of address from myself as I previously had an account with them at an old address.
Our application the finally went into their system on 27 April.
Hadn't heard anything much from our Mortgage Adviser apart from that Natwest are very busy at the moment.
Checked our bank today and the valuation fee has been taken out...can I assume that this is the final hurdle (judging by other posts it would seem that way!).
Will be giving MA a call in the morning to check!!
Cheers,
Tom0 -
New user here too though I have been reading these forums endlessly for days!
We are FTB with 90% LTV and applied for a Natwest mortgage on 15th May. We submitted extra documents and signed and sent everything back within a matter of days. We applied through L&C brokers but I found they were being a bit slow so called yesterday directly. Natwest said they were just waiting on the signed letter from my OH.
Had an epiphany later that afternoon that I had totally forgotten to put a credit card bill on our application and rang our broker in a fluster. He said that it didn't change our affordability and he just needed to call to change the details with Natwest this morning. It is nearly 2 o'clock and I just called to find out it was on their "to do list". Starting to get a bit worried that Natwest will check our credit reports and see the bill before we have a chance to change the details over the phone.
Anyone else had to change details? Did you find it was easy?
Also what are your views on chasing mortgage brokers? I think I am starting to annoy them but at the same time it is my future in their hands and I don't think it's excessive to chase when they haven't passed on information.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum so far - it has been so helpful to know others are in the same boat!!0 -
Hi, has anyone got any updates about current timescales please?0
