My valuation was done last Monday along with a home buyer report. Sadly my broker went on holiday last Thursday for two weeks! I'm gutted as the mortgage offer is the only thing we're waiting for as everything else has come back absolutely fine!

Should my solicitor and I get anything from NatWest in the post or will it all go to the broker?

    Thanks? Rik.
The homebuyer's report will be sent directly to you and the valuation will be sent directly to the lender.

Assuming the valuation is alright, the offer will be issued and posted to you and your solicitor.

Someone being on holiday is only an issue if there's a problem and there's no-one there to resolve it.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for an answer from Natwest.
I am so nervous as we have just been through this process of waiting for a decision of Natwest. We got an offer but then the house fell through. Now we are going through it all again.
We had to find another property in 90 days and luckily we did, however the new house is more expensive than the previous one so we are waiting to hear back. So scared.
I spoke to Natwest yesterday and was told that the underwriter had it and hopefully we will hear today.
I am hoping that it wont be a straight no if we cannot pass affordabilit, but we can pay the extra money?
I dont think i have slept properly for about a week. I really didnt realise at the start how stressful trying to buy a house is.

Thanks people. I received a copy of the home buyer report via email on Saturday and this confirmed the value has been agreed by the surveyor so hopefully I won't be waiting too long. I'm hoping the mortgage offer arrives soon enough as my broker told me NatWest usually underwrite before the survey is done.

    Good luck to all others.
  • That's great guys!!... so happy for you all!!

I was told my valuation had not been instructed yet due to the system glitch RBS had....

Hi all, quick update. Checked bank account today and available funds have been reduced by £586 (exact amount for homebuyers survey and valuation fee £511 and £75). Based on previous comments I hope this is really good news and mortgage has been accepted subject to valuation?

Full application submitted via broker on Thursday 11th. No requests for additional information.

As Natwest underwrite first the chances are good. Its just a case of the valuation coming back OK and you should have an offer in a few days

How long did you all wait for a survey to be booked once the valuation was done? My buyer's mortgage was already agreed when he made the offer (previous sale fell through so he was told he has X days to find another property of similar value to retain the offer) but no survey has been booked in yet, it's been almost 3 weeks?!
  • Hi thanks you guys some of your comments helped me a lot, iv lost time scale it's been that long only thing I know is that I had a valuation done last Monday 15th June till now I haven't heard anything back from them or the Brooker. Iv asked my Brooker and all I get is that he will let me know by today(yesterday) is this normal? How long does it take for the result to come from the valuation and when will I find out about my offer?
Been over a week is that normal?
    Thanks again

Our broker is submitting our application in the next day or two. He said there is a few days of backlog showing at the moment. Fingers crossed things will go well, my job situation is a bit less than ideal so a bit worried. So much can go wrong with buying houses and being a regular viewer on MSE makes me more paranoid most of the time..!
