Natwest took valuation fee yesterday but the estate agents haven't heard anything about booking the visit to the house. Hopefully it will be completed in the next few days.

The natwest intermediaries site gives info about timescales - - currently about 4 working days from application to them looking at it. Decision for our house was about another 4 days after that.

My valuation has been booked for Monday. I am so happy that it has got to this stage but i am also very nervous, our last house fell through due to structural issues at around this stage.
Keeping everything crossed that it will be fine.
    Good luck to everyone waiting.

Excellent news :T I'm sure it will be ok this time, I can't imagine that many surveys bring up serious structural issues?

Well I finally received my offer today. The survey was done on 8th June.

I had my valuation done the same day. Still waiting for my offer to come through. Have been assured for the last two weeks from Natwest that "it's on it's way". I'm not sure which postal service they are using! They even left me a voicemail last Saturday to say it was definitely signed off and on its way. They also said they are very busy at the moment due to volume of applications. I will be calling with some angry words tomorrow if it's still not turned up- as it's holding our sale and purchase up now.

Can I just ask, were any of you (or your brokers) actually informed that your application had been approved? I'm reading a lot of cases on here where the fees are taken but there is no other communication. My broker has already taken my valuation and survey fee as he is paying it directly to them.

Natwest underwrite the mortgage before the valuation. So if there is no valuation issues or any other major changes it is very likely you will get a mortgage offer. Also they do very stringent checks before it gets to underwriting stage - our advisor said the only occasions where they get declined at underwriting stage is where the applicant has lied or omitted any information in the first place. I think he said 9 out of ten which get passed through get approved. Hole that helps!

How long should it take for a general update? Application went in a week ago today (Tues 23rd) and they ran a second credit check the same day. Have messaged the broker who hasn't replied yet. Would they have been in touch if they needed more info or is it up to the broker to chase them? I don't know if I should expect any contact between application and valuation being booked or not?
