    Hi all

    Didn't get a chance to post last night. Yesterday's meals were;

    bfast: banana, 2 x sw sausages, 2 x tomatoes, 2 x field mushrooms, 2 x dg latte (5 syns)
lunch: carrot and corriander soup with chicken fillet
    snack: belvita (3 syns)
dinner: Venison steak (2 syns), cubie potatoes, salad (lettuce, toms, spring onion, peppers, cucumber and toms)
supper: 4 x ryvita and philly (HEA and B) 2 x becks blue (5 syns)
    syns for the day 15

    today's plan is:

bfast: Latte (2.5 syns), toast and PB (3 syns)
    Lunch: prawn salad
dinner: chicken, roasted veg and baby potato traybake.
snacks will be melon, strawberries and yoghurt

trying to keep syns a bit lower today as although I was within my 15 last night I like to keep a few for the weekend just incase.

Looks a bit brighter today so off to get a wash on then taking DS2 to the Speech and Language Therapist for an initial assessment.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all

I must look out for these cornichons - I've seen them mentioned here but didn't know what they were! DH and I both love pickles and in Spain you can buy jars with mini pickle 'kebabs' - cocktail sticks threaded with an olive, an onion, sweet pepper and gherkin, and we love them, we brought several jars home with us. They're available either sweet or hot and the hot ones blow your head off!

Had a change of plan yesterday, I'd forgotten about the cod fillets I bought in Tesco at the weekend so we had those with potatoes, broccoli, carrots and peas. They were ok but quite small and they didn't look anywhere near as nice as the picture. I realised I'd been sucked into buying pre-prepared food and I should really stick to making it myself. We'll have the Cajun chicken tonight.

Hearing about the negative comments people are receiving about their weightloss reminds me of when I got to target previously, but it was mainly close friends and family (mother and MIL) who showed most concern that I'd lost too much weight. Even at target my BMI wasn't in the 'healthy' range so technically I could have lost more.

This time, DH and I have both lost weight but people are only commenting on his weightloss and not mine. It doesn't bother me, but he feels bad for me, specially as I've lost more than him! I think there's a threshold you have to reach before weightloss becomes noticeable and I'm not there yet.

Have a good day everyone - I hope you all get to enjoy some sunshine today.

Just goes to show how your weight can be manipulated from week to week and anyone who loses 10lbs in a week doing SP, should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I have been watching peoples progress on the SP diet since I have been on here,
I can see that vegetarians would find this easier.

I still think eating on EE is the most balanced way to lose weight the body gets what it needs nutritional wise, no hunger bouts!

I think you may have hit on a truth Jacko .
I've been asked 'Don't you think you've lost enough now' or Mum commented yesterday when she heard my bp was low 'Maybe you have lost too much too quickly'. Well at just under 14.5 st I still have plently of blubber to shift and as for the bp - gp is looking at reducing meds.

Some people don't realise that you have chosen to alter things permanently in your life, and that this is your lifestyle choice.
I wonder if the people are a bit envious, maybe they wish secretly that they could have the same success?

    Well done :)

Its just part of it I'm afraid, peoples comments and different ways they allegedly are showing concern! I could write a book on it! The only thing I can tell you is it does calm down, most people seem to eventually get over it ( after a long time ) :rotfl:

Lois - Those pickle kebabs sound great.

I'm being 99 % good but eating lots be interesting to see what the scales say on Monday after a 5lb loss, being ill and then 5 days of pub food, cooked breakfast, pizza, a Chinese and a wedding - dread to think
  • Morning everyone.

I've been AWOL a bit this past week, went a bit wonky food-wise this week and veered off plan a bit so was expecting a gain this week. Jumped on the scales earlier and discovered a massive 0.25 lb loss :rotfl: So still not at that elusive stone but hopefully next week :D

    Today's food will be:
B - shreddies (heb) with a banana, cuppa (hea)
L - HM veggie soup which I'll do later
T - SW frozen meal beef with veg crush

NAS ribena for drinks throughout the day.

Syns will more than likely be options later for a choc fix and pom bears

Well done to the losers and STSers this week and wow to the 5lb losses that's amazing. I hope everyone's as well as can be :)

Another bright and cold day here, yesterday we didn't make it to the park so we went out for a family walk after dinner which was lovely and we have planned to make it a regular event :)

The eating went well too and I stuck to the plan I had made without feeling that I was missing anything. Today the plan is:

B - 0% yoghurt with pineapple and mango then scrambled egg and toast (HEX B) butter 2 sins
L - Some kind of substantial salad and fruit with HEX A Feta and fruit to follow
D - Chicken and veggie stirfry

Other syns are undecided, popping out today so maybe a coffee or a sweet treat after dinner.

The children are restless so we are going to head out an an adventure today to get fresh air and for me to burn some calories :)

2lb off for me today please Shala

Not feeling brilliant :/ terrible nights sleep as at 1am my sniffle had evidently got in to my sinuses (annoying as it's not long since I last had sinusitis with antibiotics and all) and I was in agony despite plenty of painkillers etc so after tossing and turning for hours I got up at 4am.

Not a great food day - bacon sandwich at this morning's event, some left over pasta bake for lunch and some monster munch. Tea will be spot on though - chicken breast topped with bacon and a little HeA cheese served with a mound of salad.

Tomorrow we go off for the weekend rough plan is:
    Friday:
Breakfast: HeB cereal with 100ml milk (from HeA)
Lunch: potentially missed depending on timings etc
tea: harvester - plenty of salad and probably just chicken with a jacket potato and more salad. We get an ice cream with the meal deal but I tend to shrae half with wonder bairn then leave the rest

    Saturday:
breakfast: hotel - sausage, baked beans, scrambled eggs and 1 slice wholemeal toast
lunch: Tesco meal deal (sandwich, snack, drink
tea: take away - probably a Chinese or fish and chips

    Sunday:
    breakfast - as Saturday
    lunch - as Saturday
tea: depending on what time we get home potentially a take away

League weekend are always hard to work around as choice is usually limited on game days to whatever is local and fast. It wouldn't be so bad if we had the game before last as they we could probably get a table at Harvester but with last game its gone 7.30 before we are even back and with everyone to sort out its strictly take aways and Sundays by the time we get back theres is no energy left for even thinking never mind cooking! I tried once...I burnt the tea and then burnt my neck trying to sort my hair out afterwards...never again!

At least there's plenty of walking and things to keep me busy. I usually take nibbly bits for wonder bairn then pick up some extra fruit and muller yogurts etc from the hotel for all of us. I can just about manage to make her a little sandwich and get a few bits for her without a problem and as bf doesn't eat breakfast the hotel give me a little bag to take stuff up to the room for him so they go in to the lunch stash!

Forgot to ask how the wedding went lantanna. Aside from the off plan food, did you enjoy your break?

I think cornichons are more crunchy and nutty flavoured than gherkins but essentially they're very similar. I don't think the Maille ones are available here b-e-g, I buy them in France but Lidl are much better value. The French ones tend to be uniformly smaller but the taste is very much the same. Sometimes I chop them into burgers when I haven't any capers.

smedley, I tend to agree that for non-vegetarians EE fits in best with a general way of eating. SP was never meant to be a plan for life just a boost/quick fix and it would 'deprive' veggies of carbs which isn't sustainable for most. I'm not a vegetarian but I think the Green plan is probably best for them especially as it allows for extra HEXs. Green is good for anyone that wants the odd meat free/low meat day.

I agree there's a threshold lois. Not just with weightloss being noticeable but before you really notice clothes sizes changing appreciably too.

    Another lovely day here.:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for teas
    L: penne arrabiata
D: chicken casserole (onions, celery, mushrooms, courgette, butter beans, carrots) with new potatoes
Syns: scrape of spread, cornflour in casserole

My lunch sounds a bit exotic but it's really some pasta with the LO sauce from patatas bravas which I might stir a bit of oregano into.;)

    That's great!!:T Good for You.:T

Sorry to hear you had a bad night lush. I've had a sinusey thing hanging around since Christmas. Latest GP thinks it's an allergy but I feel worse taking the anti histamines. I think it's some sort of after effect strain of new flu virus as lots of people have had it.

Looking at your menu, wouldn't it be a bit better to have bacon with hotel breakfast as sausages might be high syn? I did 4 days of that last week but added mushrooms as well and was able to have fruit & cereal as well. Helped to not feel very hungry at lunchtime.
