Folks: if you register online for SW their current lowest price is £59(ish) (79, with the books and some magazines delivered) for 3 months membership.
With code BELLA0415 you save £35
My maths is usually pants, but that works out cheaper than £5 a week to go to group.
Code expires 20th April.
(EDITED: of course. codes aren't stackableso one month free as standard or £35 off)
Also Sympatea - I found that SW works really well on a student budget just mind that your roomies don't nick your prepped frozen meals0 -
You will not pay as much wit SW.
Food Directory 2015 £7.50
Free Branded Foods 2015 £1.95
Low Syn Snacks 2015 2015 £1.95
+ minimal P+P
I have read on the forum that there is a way to go to a first SW meeting and buy the books at discount, can someone elaborate please for the new users.
Often the SW magazine has a discount code or two in itSW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -

The Speed food is the important part of the plan (Maman likes to remind everyone of this from time to time if it looks like you're not having enough, LOL!).

I had a directory in the first year on SW but it soon gets out of date. I wouldn't buy one again. AFAIK lois you can't get the app without going to a group regularly, I've always though of it as a mobile version of the website but I may be wrong.
smedley, I think what people are recommending is that anyone who is trying to be very mse or can't get to a group regularly should just go to one meeting to get a set of books and an introductory talk then not go back again. That, along with this thread and Google is probably enough to get going. That would normally cost £10 but with a voucher (such as in last week's Bella) then it comes down to £5. When you're at that first meeting you can buy from the group 'shop' but I don't think there are discounts.
It could be the last day for buying Bella today as I think magazines come out on a Tuesday.
Messed up Monday again here, so main meal about 3.30 p.m. I'm feeling a bit thinner today but still having cheese sauce because I like it.:p
B: NAS Ribena, HEA milk for teas, scrambled eggs
L/D: gammon, new potatoes, cauli/broccoli cheese
Syns: cheese sauce
I have a HEB going begging so may have some toast this evening if hungry.0 -

Sorry, I was referring to the SW memberships, physical and online,
looking back, I didn't explain it very wellSW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Yes the cheapest way is to get a Bella magazine, turn up the first week and then never go back, no idea if this leaves your consultant out of pocket or not, I don't think it does.
I'd suggest maybe doing it at a localish group but not your local group as you may not want to burn your bridges if going it alone doesn't work for you.
The books you receive give you some basic info on syns for stuff, I always find that the 20 kcal a syn works ok for me, I don't generally eat stuff that might have an element of free food though, for me its mostly just sweets and biscuits.0 -
Hi Everyone,
Well done to all the losers - Wiz, Lois, CountingPennies, Smedley and anyone else I missed!
Shala - hope everything turns out okay. I had a lump when I was younger that was removed and confirmed to be a cyst but I know what a worrying tiime it was. Sending you hugs.
Maman - thanks for the tips about SP, it's a good call about getting some chunky texture! I'm struggling for inspiration for lunches a bit for when I'm at work as there's no microwave, so it's cold food only.
I did SP Sat, EE yesterday, SP today and am going to aim for SP Tues & Weds too and see if I can kickstart things.
Today's menu:
B: Porridge with skimmed milk & berries (0.5 A,
S: quavers (4.5)
L: HM cauliflower & horseradish soup (recipe on website - super easy & very tasty), bread (B) and RF spread (1), Quark with sweetener & raspberries
S: apple, 20g RF cheese (0.5A)HM quorn, bean & vegetable chili, Kitkat (5)
Am thinking of griddling a quorn fillet, some aubergine, peppers and mushrooms to take as a salad tomorrow with leaves, tomato & cucumber and perhaps some feta.0 -

Good to see you mim.Hi all
Not been on for a wee while as I have been so busy - it's a pain when life gets in the way of doing things we want.
Afraid RL got in the way. DH off work, DD2 back from Uni, visiting relatives etc. Didn't do too badly over Easter. Treated myself to desert on Easter Sunday but stuck to my rationed daily chocolate. On Monday it was meet up with relatives at 'all you can eat' Chinese. Think I managed to be fairly restrained without feeling deprived.
Been busy making my ballgown/dress for our dancing weekend in 2 wks time. When I say making, I mean a friend has been making with some hindrance from me! Hopefully will be finished tomorrow, but all the fitting & adjustments have taken away any free time I had.
Today is the first normal day so I've taken the chance to read back and catch up.
Need to get tea on the go and then I want to bake 2 cakes, one for FIL and one as a thank you for making my dress.Weight loss 0/2st
