Evening all and thanks for the warm welcomes!
TIE - I thought the whole point of being a TA was that you didn't have to do all the rubbish stuff in your time off (I secretly love laminating).
Maman - Yes I can see that it's not faddy - it just seems to be a way of eating a balanced diet in a way you can measure.
So I think I have my meals sorted for tomorrow, this evening I'm making the most of my last non-SW day, eating chocs and and drinking vino
Just one question - Are HEs mandatory? And Syns - how many do you tend to have in a day?
Ooh also, does it matter what day we weigh in? I was wanting to do Weds. Thanks!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Congratulations on your precious new nephew, b_e_g.
Aw thanks greentiger
Those goats cheese and shallot tarts sound rather lush nom nom. Talking of lush - where are you? Hope you are ok and just too busy to post.
Tete - HEs are important for a balanced diet they say. Syns are necessary too - they make sure you don't feel deprived of little treats. If you have them from the outset, it is always something you can cut back on should you start to plateau. I have around 10 a day (give or take a couple). Some people bank their syns - allow 105 for a week and they may use them sparingly through the week and then use them for weekend wine/meals out etc. At one time SW didn't approve this method but I think they are warming to the idea. In a way, if it works for the individual - why not. Hope that gabble makes sense.
Weigh in whatever day suits you - sticking to same time/day and clothing is a good idea. We have a fun challenge whereby we set targets for a 8-9 week period. Current one finishes next week I think and new one will be starting straightaway. If you fancy joining in, just let Shala know how much you would like your target to be. Good luck if you decide to do it.
Off for my overnight oats now.

Evening
It's been a good weekend here, weather wise - sunny yesterday, rain through the night (the campers were complaining they didn't get any sleep!) then sunshine again today and a fantastic red sky at sunset so high hopes for tomorrow.
B-e-g - congratulations on the new arrival, bet you can't wait for a cuddle of the new bairn.
Tete - welcome to the thread, feel free to ask any questions and good luck.
T-i-e - did you use the cornflour to make gloop? I worked in a children's centre for a while and they used to have great fun with it.
Back tomorrow.

Many congratulations on the new arrival.:)greentiger wrote: »Maman, yes we go to every game (masochists), but distance is much less of an issue in Scotland. This season our furthest league trip is to Dumfries (about 90 miles). I saw you had a draw today.
Obviously distances are a much bigger issue for us, probably 350+ miles to Newcastle is about the furthest but it's also difficult to get tickets. We tend to go to Swansea as that's my home city and we visit family at the same time but any others are a bonus. We're struggling to cope without the players we've sold this season. Not hopeful.:(
Glad you enjoyed the camping saverupper but sounds impossible to plan eating. I'm sure you'll be pleased to be back on plan.
tete, good advice given by b-e-g. I'm one that saves syns for the weekend and it's worked for me. It's really quite easy to eat low syn during the week and then have a bit of a blow out at weekends. HEXs aren't essential but you do need to have calcium and fibre n your meal plan. What you shouldn't do is think that if you don't have many syns and cut out HEXs like bread it will be good for weightloss. It might work in the short term (and fine if you're losing for an occasion) but it isn't sustainable long term and what we all really want is to be slim and healthy long term. Isn't it?;)0 -
Fab, thank you Maman and BEG for the detailed explanations - you said what I suspected. Off for a coffee with sugar in that case
Have a lovely day everyone!

The chicken burgers don't appeal to me Maisie but I think I will definitely be giving the TTD lamb and mint ones a go.
B_e_g
Managed to get all three kinds of burgers in my Sainsbugs and had the lamb ones on Saturday night, They were delicious. Definitely buying them again for 2.5 syns they were worth it for me as I struggle to get the lean lamb:(0 -
Maman Hope the garlic bread was nice! I haven't had any in so long I've forgotten what it tastes like!
BEG - Nice to hear some good news! I'm sure she will be very happy about the new arrival in time lol
So the weekend was atrocious food wise! Think Chinese, Crisps and a Subway.
Anyway I'm hoping that it might give my system a kick up the backside. Back on it today. All was not lost as on Saturday did a weights workout at home and my legs and bottom are aching lol0 -

Tried the SW burgers at the weekend but won't be bothering with them again. Only bought them to see if they were worth keeping in the freezer for when it was difficult for me to get to the butcher who sells SW friendly burgers (0.5 syn each); he also makes SW friendly sausages for 0.5 syn as well.
Might have to try the Sainsbugs ones for keeping in the freezer for emergencies; but won't get any just yet as off on holiday for 3+ weeks next Friday. Quite fancy the lamb ones as I too find it difficult to finds the very lean lamb - I sometimes mince my own from lamb leg steaks (if I can find them YS:money:).
Has anyone managed to find a regular source for lean lamb mince from any of the main supermarkets or the 2 main discounters?
Haven't decided on meals for today yet as I didn't do a joint yesterday as had a very busy day and didn't have dinner until after 8pm - usually eat around 6 - 6.30pm.
Back later once I've sorted out what I'm going to have today. It all has to come from freezer & cupboards as I'm not going out it the really heavy rain we have today.

Mum and baby are doing well and hope to be home tomorrow. The family have had a rough time as their second child died suddenly aged two and a half. Hopefully this will help them move on even though the other little one will never be forgotten. The eldest little girl decided at first that she didn't want any more babies in the family especially if it was going to be A BOY - oh dear :rotfl::rotfl: Bet she cannot wait to mother him now though.

I am working 1-1 and child has speech therapy so am photocopying all that plus I do Time to Talk sessions with said child plus others. I've already made the puppets but want the children to make their own smaller one so need the photocopier for that. Also will use school laminator as it has a cardboard sleeve where mine doesn't so isn't as smooth. Anyway if I don't do it, who will??
Re the cornflour, was supposed to make it to playdough consistency but it didn't get that far so yes more gloopy lol. Mixed with coconut conditioner and smelt lovely.
Congrats on the new Great Nephew BEG, enjoy the cuddles! Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
