Am stuffed
just had the HB beef, used 4 big onions and had with new potatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and garden peas. Got to the thickening stage then realised I had no cornflour or mustard powder so had to use gf flour and Dijon. Still not bad though. First time I've had spuds in a while too.
Can't believe I had no cornflour, I ALWAYS have some in the house. Then I remembered I took the last of it to school to use in sensory play and forgot to get more . Oh well was still good. Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I have three stone to lose after embarking on an ill-fated change of career to teaching two years ago. Any teachers on here will understand why I began to comfort-eat!! I've now left that all behind me and start a new (normal!) office job on 1st Sept - so I'll once again have the time and energy to be able to plan my meals, instead of a Nutella sandwich here and a Pot Noodle there, supplemented by copious amounts of chocolate and crisps.
I've successfully lost (less) weight in the past by counting calories, but that doesn't seem to be working for me now - perhaps because I'm a bit older and my metabolism isn't what it used to be (sob) or perhaps because I now run a lot and am always hungry - I do only eat back the calories that I've burnt, but ...?
Anyway, I know a few people who swear by SW so I've decided to read up on it (it always seems a bit complicated and faddy to me as an outsider) and bite the bullet. I've signed up as an online member and am looking forward to getting started.
Sorry for the ramble, but that's me in a nutshell
Welcome to the madhouse Tete en L'air. SW can seem a bit overwhelming at first and you may feel that you will never get it - but you will - promise :rotfl::rotfl: Anything that sounds a bit foreign to you just shout up and there will usually be someone around able to help. Good luck with SW and with your new job.TakeItEazy wrote: »Morning all, going to have a go at HB braised beef (using medallions). I don't have a flame proof casserole dish so the last bit about thickening the gravy! Would it work just left in the oven to thicken or do I ladle some out and thicken in a pan? So looking forward to this as everyone raves about it, don't want to mess it up at the end though
Thanks in advance :A
So pleased you liked it TIE. It's a family favourite here
Well what have I been up to today ... sanding paintwork , washing all paintworks, cutting Mum's lawns, cutting one of our lawns (didn't get done last week and with all the rain and warmth we've had - really it was too wet but it had to be done) and on top of all this the usual washing and some ironing. Kept thinking of it all as Body Magic which helped keep me going :rotfl:
Meals today have been
Breakfast - fruit
Lunch - SW fry up sort of thing
Dinner - roast pork loin, Delia's braised red cabbage and apple (nom nom), brocolli and a few new pots.
Supper - overnight oats (heb). Dsil gave me some blackberries so I am using these with the oats and yoghurt.
Hea has been milk in drinks. Syns will be chocolate/crisps combination I think
I seem to think that the weeks are flying by. Cannot believe I am back to SW class again tomorrow night. Think the paintbrushes might be out tomorrow so will have to remind myself that it is all Body Magic :rotfl:
Have a good week everyone

Forgot to say earlier that we received a good news text - our neice had a baby boy early hours of this morning weighing in at 7lbs 13oz. Mum and baby are doing well and hope to be home tomorrow. The family have had a rough time as their second child died suddenly aged two and a half. Hopefully this will help them move on even though the other little one will never be forgotten. The eldest little girl decided at first that she didn't want any more babies in the family especially if it was going to be A BOY - oh dear :rotfl::rotfl: Bet she cannot wait to mother him now though.

I am back!!Have just caught up with the thread.
Back home, and looking forward to getting back onto the SW track. It has been a very bad 4 days!!(Bad week, actually, with the all-you-can-eat meal on Tuesday)
We were camping(no electrical hook-up),and OH had packed lots of tins of vege/pkts of pasta/rice/planning on cooking bbq/bacon/eggs etc.I had packed Hifi bars, lots of fruit etc.
Well, weather was awful in the evenings (could not have set up a BBQ) most days.On the one night we did,the small supermarket nearby only sold synful sausages,so we had those.I didn't buy Kingmill thins as HEB,because it is only me that eats them,so most of a pkt of 6 wouldn't have been used.So I had white rolls like the rest of the family.Same with things like lunches-we either made sandwiches to take on hikes (peanut butter!),or bought a restaurant meal.
OH had packed Nutella (the only time I buy it is for Pancake day, because a jar of Nutella with me never ends well).
We ate ice creams most days while we were out and about.
I have eaten exactly no fruit or vege since Thur.
Even the 2 breakfasts we had out were synful: bacon, egg cooked in too much oil, sausages, hash browns.Only saving grace was the grilled tomato.
All very enjoyable,but as I say,synful.
Weigh -in tomorrow.That'll learn me :rotfl:.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Maman, yes we go to every game (masochists), but distance is much less of an issue in Scotland. This season our furthest league trip is to Dumfries (about 90 miles). I saw you had a draw today.
Smashing pic, meg. We have had glorious sunshine today.
Congratulations on your precious new nephew, b_e_g.
I’ve realised I can’t have hexb toast later as I had hexb muesli at breakfast – and I don’t have hexb bread, doh. I’ve not had any snacks today so the toty carrot cake will be enough. I can’t believe I’m writing that!
I’m going back to ‘syns bank’ from tomorrow. I’m out for lunch on Wednesday and I’m using up the last of my goat’s cheese and shallots tarts (15 ½ syns each) later in the week.
WI tomorrow.
Breakfast: toast (4 syns) & jam (1 syn), melon & grapes
Lunch: baked potato with, tuna, mayo (1 syn) & sweetcorn, salad, WW yogurt
Dinner: Philadelphia fish pie (includes hexa cheese), broccoli & carrots
Snacks: Walkers French Fries (4 syns), hexb cereal?
Have a great day everyoneSewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400
