    Morning all (only just!)

Re soaking chips before cooking them, I have an Actifry and that's what they recommend - soak them, drain well, then dry them on a clean tea towel. I don't always do it, but it does make them crisper when I do.

Butternut squash is a brilliant speed food, I often roast it (in the Actifry) and it can be a good alternative to potatoes if you're doing EESP or the old Red/Original plan. It also makes lovely soup - I made some yesterday and we had some for tea last night, there's plenty more so we might finish it tonight. And you can mash it and use if as topping for shepherds pie. :p

Yesterday wasn't a good day - we weren't very busy in the afternoon and I've realised that long hours and few customers equals dangerous temptation. Back on plan today.

    Back later for the chart.

I love butternut squash in a curry. I usually do one with red lentils as well. Once you add onions, garlic, tomatoes etc along with curry paste (I always make my own) it makes loads. I usually get about 8-10 portions from one medium sized squash so makes a really cheap meal. Even cheaper if I grown my own, which I didn't this year.

You've made me think I ought to get a butternut squash and make another curry, although not sure I've seen any recently; but obviously some around if you're all eating it.

  • Bit gutted but at least its a loss 1lb off for me!This is after 2 weeks of saintly eating. even my leader agrees and is stumped. What to do? Hope everyone else is more positive. Will catch up properly later today x

Everyone loses at different rates. I was one of those who only lost 0.5lb or 1lb a week while another lady who started the same time as me was losing 7 or 8lb nearly every week. She never had a STS or a gain. It just seems so unfair, doesn't it?

Don't be disheartened you'll get there in the end - you just have to persevere. Just think of the bigger picture - once you've been doing it for a while you'll be able to see the losses on a month by month basis.

Keep plodding as our Beanie says.

you read instructions?? hmm maybe that's where i went wrong.. ;):rotfl:

I have some dumbells lantanna, although i think the spiders are using them in the garage at the minute :rotfl: may have to prize them back off them and start using them, especially for my arms. Bingo wings  Thanks for your advice..

I panicked that BNS wasn't speed then, we eat 1 a week so i'd have been upset if it was only free :p

Sue - not sure what to suggest but i would continue to post your menu's on here so we can have a look and make some suggestions. Are you drinking enough - water i mean ;) are your portion sizes ok?

Thanks for the support everyone, I'm just frustrated when I have followed it so strictly. I have always drunk a lot of water /NAS squashes so that's not a prob. As for portions I have stuck with a "portion " size despite free food status etc. When I have made lasagne/chilli I have plumped it out with extra mushrooms/peppers etc as I know I struggle to get Speed things in. I have big pot of stew on and have "doctored" it with various herbs etc to hopefully hide the swede/parsnip in there. Put whole bag casserole veg extra carrots , half bag frozen mixed peppers, chopped toms onions and one tin stewed steak so 4 syns in total. I am not going down without a fight but I don't know if I will continue of a loss doesn't happen Monday. Sorry to be on a downer. Will sort myself out....trotting off now to do so ;)
