Well,that was a surprise!
Had been feeling/looking a bit bloated the last few days.Thought I must have had a gain,so lovely to discover a 1 lb loss !!
It is now only 1/2 a pound keeping me within the lower half of target.Lose too much more and I will be paying for losing too much weight in a slimming club .
Today's menu:
Breakfast: an apple,a mandarine,some watermelon
Snack: an apple
Tea: omlette with soooooooooo muchhhhhhhhhhhh tomato and onion that it wouldn't flip over,so more like a scrambly-egg concoction:eek:.Also 20g cheese (4 syns),bacon and fried tinned potatoes
Snack: 2 Hifi bars (HEB)
Not all milk allowance used in cups of tea
Today's NSV:
I had been so pleased and surprised to have lost 1lb,I said to the 2 eldest kids that when they are making their cookie-in-a-cup,I would have one too, please.
As it turns out,I was in the middle of my tea when they wanted to get going with it,so when they tried to check with me that I would like one,I declined.12-ish syns saved just like that.Probably put them toward our all-you-can-eat meal we are having for OH's birthday meal tomorrow :rotfl:.

I have around 8 stone to lose. I know many of you have achieved or are well on the way to achieving this but from where I am at the moment it seems soooooo far away.
I am feeling good and someone said I was looking slim at my dancing class tonight. I'll probably go to WI this week and hope it's not an illusion.:) Meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow. She always wants cake but I'm not planning to join in. Next off plan meal is a BBQ on Friday so I want to be really good until then.
Definitely just look to getting to the next half stone shiney at the most greenbeanie and meantime just good days or weeks.:)greentiger wrote: »Evening all.
Well, it’s unusual for me to be happy with a gain, but it’s +2lbs for me, shala. I really thought it would be much worse. It’s encouraged me to really knuckle down again.
That's not bad at all after a holiday greentiger.
Feeling much better now. Was hungry because of early dinner so had a JP at 11 p.m.;)0 -
Commiserations to those who have gained but it's the holidays and there is always next week.
Hi to the newbies on the thread. I am sure you will enjoy it here. Many of us are in for the long haul:p
Maman that is totally amazing regarding your dress. It must have been a fantastic feeling trying on the dress and finding it fitted after all that time. I have an outfit I wore when I first met DH when we were 17 but I haven't got a hope of getting back in to that as it is a size 8 (old money so probably a 6 now :rotfl:)
Greenbeanie totally sympathise re the sabotage. It does seem to get difficult for me too about 4 weeks in. Fingers crossed you have a better week this week and you better get those handle bars tightened incase you do a mischief.
shala We soak our chips for about an hour before we cook them and it does seem to make them crunchier. We make sure we dry them thoroughly before cooking and do them in the actifry. Oddly enough when I do wedges I don't soak them! Not sure why  That is the same recipe I use for the pulled pork too. Very tasty and we are not keen on pork in this household. I like your idea of using the pork chops so I will have to try that and see if I can expand the pork menu's here.
Congrats on your loss beg. Sorry you didn't see the 12's but you definitely will next week.
Saverupper well done on the loss. Funny how we can feel bloated but lose weight other times we feel we have lost and put on! Hope you have a lovely meal out tonight for OH's birthday.
Weigh in tonight but not expecting much but have planned meals for the week so I am in a good position for next Tuesday and I have nothing on this week.
Today's menu
Breakfast: toast and jam (1 syn)
lunch: aloo gobi with chicken, nectarine
dinner: sw sausages, new potatoes, veg
snacks: alpen bar, cheese cravings (1/2 syn each) and ml yoghurt0 -

I've heard of cake in a mug but not cookie in a cup.. what is this new phenomenon that i need to avoid?? :think:must google for research purposes only...:I am feeling good and someone said I was looking slim at my dancing class tonight.
:T:T
I felt really annoyed after my shopping expedition last night, the changing room mirrors were awful and nothing fitted properly (although everything i tried on was a 16 :T)i really wanted to comfort eat because i felt so upset but i resisted and just had HM lasagne and salad :T and one square of dark choc (1-2 syns?)
So action plan is gym most nights.. try to tone up the jelly belly at the same time as losing the weight.. Lantanna do you do any weights or just the treadmill?? I've heard lifting is good for tonig and losing weight but i'm too scared to try it at the gym in case i look a fool
Plan for the day EE
B - melon, yogurt, alpen(3)
L - weetabix and milk(hea/b), apple
T - chicken biryani, added veg in the rice
S - crisps (5) banana, milk (2)
I need to start sorting out some proper lunches, i can't be bothered to think at the minute so i'm just having cereal but that uses up me heB and A in one go
Hope everyone has a good day xxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Thanks for this Maisie, i'd not heard of doing it before so i'll definitely try it.
I'm too lazy to dry them so i just usually chuck them in the actifry with no oil for a few minutes to dry in the hot air and then add the oil..

3 of my favourite things in life right there although its been at least 6 months since I've had a McDonalds!Your trying just keep trying.
I just par boil my chips and then let them dry for a bit - could be anything from 10 mins to hours really.
BEG - I was thinking of getting one of those colouring books, I've promised it to myself when I get the house in a better state:)
Well done Saverupper!

Been there manys a time and felt your pain. It feels awful doesn' it!! If its any consolation the other night I caught sight of my backside in the mirror and couldn't believe how much cellulite seems to have appeared from nowhere! This is the problem with suddenly stopping exercising! I'm now trying to try and wean myself of diet coke and fizzy drinks as they don't help. I moaned and groaned about my body beforehand but compared to what it is now it was actually pretty good I just want that body back now please! I'll take that and be happy!
Re the Gym: I usually do the treadmill and the very rare time the stepper or the bike. I rarely bother with the weights in the gym (they are normally being hogged by pre pubescent males anyway)!! I do use the leg press a couple of times a week.
I have my own weights at home, dumbbells and kettlebells, I've picked up in TX Maxx and Lidl. I'm not really using them at the minute but working my way up to them again. Pre sickness I used them a lot and did lots of stomach toning exercises that I'd printed off the internet at home. I used to go to a class called CX Works (Flat Belly Class) I used to call it. It was half an hour once or twice a week and it was all core work, planks etc and it was really really good!! I used to go to Step Aerobics as well and the sweat was always lashing off me at the end of it.
I hope to be back into all of the above by Christmas I will get there.:) I'd def say get some weights in if you can. Maybe talk to the gym person if they are not too annoying (mine mostly are) and tell them what you are trying to do - get them to do you up a programme. I love it when you get really really into going to the gym, you feel so much better overall.

Was very pleased with myself last night. Cleaned 2 shelves of the bookcase out and sorted out the stuff on them. Have a bag of cds now ready for the charity shop and got through some decluttering. Said goodbye to a pair of trainers as well.
Gym tonight. Trying to decide on what to have / make for dinner and what Speed veg I can have with it!
Think I'm going for BGTY Sausage, with Mushroom, onion, lots of mixed green veg (broccoli and maybe green beans) and LO Butternut Squash and Brown Rice from last night.
Grapefruit sat on my desk just looking at me and I keep picking it up and smelling it. Just love the smell of grapefruits!!
Can someone remind me please Butternut Squash is not speed just free, isn't that right?0 -
Think I'm going to try soaking the chips before cooking next time I do them. I find it quite difficult to get them crispy and evenly cooked. I end up having turn the tray round 90 degrees every 10 minutes so they're cooked a bit more evenly. Anyone got any better ideas? I don't have an actifry and don't have anywhere to keep one!
Need to go shopping today as am virtually out of fruit - just one nectarine left! Also run out of mushrooms & bacon - bang goes breakfast this morning, was going to have a fry up!
EE planned for today:
B - beans on toast
L - ham salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, cornichons, beetroot, pickled red peppers.
D - sweet and sour pork, rice (using up the last of Sunday's roast pork)
HEA - milk in teas
HEB - bread
No planned syns but may have an Alpen Light this evening.
