Well I am going to have a go at posting todays menu, as long as you all don't mind it being a little hit 'n' miss consistency wise.
Breakfast (13.30 due to aforementioned on call issue)
bacon, egg, beans 2x wholemeal toast, mushrooms
Snack
S/F jelly
Dinner
Corned beef hash and gravy (too too tired for roast dinner)
6 syns
Tomorrow is WI and after a 1st week STS I am hoping for a more positive outcome. I will let you all know. Fingers crossed for all of you for your WI this week.
I do hope you get a result at WI sue. It'll be interesting to hear what your consultant says about your meal plans. I'm still convinced you need more Speed food. How are you with pickles? I eat lots of beetroot, cornichons, pickled onions and pickled cabbage alongside cold meats or jacket potatoes. Could you eat those instead of cooked veg?Had been hoping to get back on track this week but it's been a disaster. My great gran passed away so diet and healthy eating has gone out of the window and have done nothing but eat pretty much everything in sight. Am very disappointed in myself.
So sorry for your loss, tara. You'll get back on it when you're ready and we'll be here:).greentiger wrote: »I already want another joliday, but I’m afraid I’d have to win the lottery! Trouble is I never buy a ticket.
Same here:(. I'm on the look out for another holiday in September. When the sun shines I'm thinking of something in the UK. Having been a Scottish dancer since my childhood I want to explore more of Scotland as many of the dances are named after place names. Then it rains.......:rotfl:
A bit of a NSV for me tonight. Wore new size 12 skinny jeans without a belt and spent all evening pulling them up. OK so they are a bit stretchy but it felt good.:D
HB tonight steaks as yummy as ever. Used Aldi's beef medallions tonight so at about £3.50 for two was quite mse as well.:money:0 -
spuddy, I’ve been catching up on old posts and I was wishing you and OH good luck on your SW journey. I’m too lazy to quote, so no wonder you hadn’t a foggy what I was on about!
Adding to the size/weight issue, I confess to being just around the 13st mark too, size 18 fits well, but I’m a wee cube at 5’2”!
Sorry about your great gran, tara.
Oh maman, you’re right about the rain – but it seems to have been dry, sunny and fairly warm the whole time we were away – and DD had the BBQ outside tonight! BTW she made a big effort to keep my meal SW friendly – lamb kebabs with lots of veg, spiced chicken breast, aubergines in saffron yogurt sauce, spicy salad and couscous with feta cheese followed by fresh fruit salad and cream (well, I’m counting it as last of the holidays so cream allowed). I usually prefer to take a holiday at home in Scotland at Easter or in October, never summer. I work on the principle I’d be disappointed if the weather was miserable in summer but I’d expect it at the other times so if it’s decent I’m delighted (and I often have been lucky).
Anyway, tomorrow’s plan:
(knees knocking) WI
Breakfast: hexb French toast, banana, blackcurrants, maple syrup (1 syn)
Lunch: out – depends what is on ‘special’ or chicken Caesar salad (syns for dressing)
Dinner: noodle mug shot or some such thing, strawberries & kiwi
Snacks: choc digestive (4 syns)
Hoping that’s all.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Well.... since we're being truthful
:o:o
as it stands, I am 16st 2lb :eek::eek: the heaviest I have ever been.... and I am horrified with myself.... only because I should be able to prevent it.... but as I said, 5'9, size 15... still able to wear 14 tops no problem, but 14 or 16 bottoms depending on which store I go to.
Goal for now is 12st.... when I achieve that (and I WILL) then I'll review it....
Still trying to wrap my head around the EESP plan.... but i'll figure it out within the next weekI'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know
On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!0 -
Had a great weekend away in the motorhome but absolutely disasterous SW-wise:eek: A definite gain in the pipeline I think - haven't actually added up the syns for the weekend but definitely very, very high!
Will get back on plan and not expect too much as WI on Thursday - just need to keep the syns very low from now until then.
Another EE day today:
B - scrambled eggs on toast; strawberries, grapes
L - ham salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, pickled onions, cornichons & beetroot
D - cold roast pork, SW chips, baked beans; more strawberries & grapes with SW "cheats" sour cream (natural yoghurt, fromage frais soured with lime juice) - LO from the weekend tacos.
HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day.
HEB - bread
No syns planned but who knows?

Morning...
Greentiger, you definitely deserve a medal! I'd have had pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner! :rotfl:
Tara - sorry to hear of your loss x
Beanie - save some of your support for yourself, your friend will have support off your consultant too..
Interesting about sizes and weights, i often look at the magazine and wonder how they are the size/weight they are, i just assume they are toned because of exercise.. i'm 5'4 hovering around 13.3/13.6 and a size 16 on the bottom and 16-18 on top cos of the norks:rotfl:
Off shopping for holiday clothes tonight  the dreaded changing room mirrors to face, where i'll be disappointed because i didn't lose as much as i said i would.. it was bound to happen.Just need some jeans and a couple of tops..
EE for me today
B - loads of melon, yogurt, alpen light (3)
L - weetabix and milk (heb/a), apple
T - HM lasagne from freezer, salad, pickles
S - crisps (5) milk (2)

Fluff, you can def do this, I shifted 6 stone in exactly a year. I went from a 22/22 to a 10/12 Just tackle it day by day and week by week and you’ll get there! Just set yourself small goals to work to each week. I was 16 stone 13 the day I started SW and I swore I would never see that again and I haven’t. 12.4 right now trying to get back to 11 stone. I never dreamt I lose as much as I did got down to 10.5 at one point but just kept going and I did.
Lois – Yep my parents have had the same mentality stay together for the sake of the children and it causes more damage I personally think. The children are in their 30’s and can’t hack it anymore! Who knows, I’m just letting them get on with it! Driving me mental!:mad:I was on co-codomal for months upon end there / everyday with the Gallbladder. 30/500 I drank on them at the weekends and was ok. Wouldn’t recommend it though everybody is different.
Meg - Sorry to hear about the bloke but exactly as Shala says there will be a lovelier one around the corner and one more worthy of your time too! Happy Belated Birthday Skinny Minny!!
Shala - Congrats on the 2lbs loss! Come on now keep going!! No more Papa Johns! Papa Johns always reminds me of Jocks! I wonder what happened to him?
BEG – We actually had a good day here weather wise yesterday! I was in shock!! I’m praying for the number 11 to come back on the scales anyday so I know how you feel. We will get there. I am sick of looking at the 12's I've been willing it to move for ages but its not so I know how you feel!
So weekend was good foodwise! Had my Gin & Slims but didn’t go OTT. Didn’t head out on Saturday night as the parents were driving me mad and was going to get a Chinese to compensate as I was in terrible form but thought better of it and went out for a WW Ready meal as I couldn’t be bothered cooking. It is also a week today since I’ve had any bread and feeling better for it! Walked 5 miles on the treadmill yesterday.Pushing myself to get 2 lbs off this week. Just thinking about what to cook this week.
Def feeling like Autumn here, been looking at boots and thinking about meals with gravy .
Talking of different / heights and weights etc. I got new scales a couple of months ago, ww ones that tell you your bone density. I have heavy bones!!! Nearly out of the normal category!! At 5.5 (just) 10.7 sees me at a size 10 bottom and a size 12 top and a bit too skinny. 10.10 to 11 stone sees me at the best weight for me I think and where I am trying to get back too! I have big boobs too, skinny arms and legs all my weight is round my middle.
Wish people would stop talking about Pizza Greentiger lol, my friend text me on Saturday night to tell me she had ordered a Dominoes this was just as I was tucking into my WW Meal!! :rotfl:

Hello *waves*
Started back at Slimming World 2 weeks ago, going to the groups with a friend this time so hopefully that will help motivation! I started last October and am still yet to make it to that magical 1st stone - I get to within a half pound and then I plateau/yo-yo again. Am now 2.5lb away at 12st 1.5lb.
First week lost 1.5lb which i was pleased with as had been on holiday. 2nd week weigh in tomorrow which could be anything as had a couple of very off-plan days AND it's star week AND had a mega row with hubby which saw him decamp for the weekend. To my credit I only did one night of chocs and wine in reaction rather than a whole weeks worth.
Having an odd eating day so far. Started with an apple, then 2 spoonfuls of tuna/sweetcorn/mayo, then a cup of tea.
Planning some grapes and a mugshot for lunch, maybe some sw chips and roasted butternut squash.
Hubby home later so will make a syn-free tinned salmon curry which is lush, with lemon basmati rice.
I really need to get a bit more organised and less lazy about cooking to have more success :-)2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Still trying to wrap my head around the EESP plan.... but i'll figure it out within the next weekBrief Overview of Extra Easy SP - this takes over from the old Success Express for speeding up your weight loss or kick starting your loss if you've hit a plateau.
Please note that this is only a brief overview as we are not allowed to copy things off the website. Please refer to your books or the SW website for a list of free foods.
Extra Easy SP concentrates on Speed foods and Protein-rich foods
1 - Choose your Speed Foods and Protein-rich foods, ensuring at least half of your plate is speed foods where you can
2 - choose healthy extras - you can have 1 Healthy Extra "A" and 2 Healthy Extra "B" choices
3 - Choose your 5-15 syns as normal and enjoy
SW recommend following the Extra Easy SP plan for a week, if you continue with it then either add some normal Extra Easy days into the plan or add an additional Healthy Extra A choice to ensure you are getting enough calcium.
Speed foods are mainly vegetables and fruits (however, those high in natural sugars are excluded)
Protein-rich foods include lean meats, poultry, fish, meat substitutes, eggs, beans and pulses.
Here's a visual representation kindly provided by Tweets
And some links provided by kim kim - the fopperholic one is most helpful I found.. the lady who runs it is a SW consultant/manager so her's will be accurate information.

Perhaps this will help fluff. The chart that tweets posted is particularly good. I find it easy to think of it in terms of a traditional meal. While before you might have had a third each of meat, potatoes and veg on a plate, with EESP you skip the potatoes and have meat and veg 50:50. The portion size can be bigger (so still a plateful) but no carbs.
Most people on here have tried the odd meal/day/week. Just ask if you need help.
Back soon.:)0 -
Morning
Tara - sorry for your loss. I was only about 9 or 10 when I lost the only great grandparent I knew and my memories of her were of a crotchety old bat, so I didn't shed many tears. You obviously had a better relationship with yours.
Interesting to read the discussions about different weights and sizes. I've always been heavier than I look and as a result I'm very secretive about how much I weigh (daft I know). The lightest I've been as an adult was 13st, that was in 2003 after losing 7 stone doing SW. My BMI was still in the high 20s and if I'd been doing WW I would have had to lose another stone to become a life member. I was constantly being told I was too thin and I'd lost too much. I'm 5'11" and I think you can look lanky if you're tall and very thin. At 13st I was size 16 bottoms and 14/16 top so nowhere near the size 12 I've always wanted to be!
Hi Jojo - welcome to the thread  Going to group with a friend is good, you can be slimming buddies and help each other out when you're struggling.
Beanie - doesn't helping someone else with the plan focus your mind and help you?
Have a good day everyone, this has been yet another serial post - started at 8.30! :rotfl:
LLStart BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
I really need to get a bit more organised and less lazy about cooking to have more success :-)
Hello JoJo, you are absolutely right that planning is the key to success. Home cooking isn't essential but if you use up syns having most ready meals then you can't have them as treats so there's that choice to make. Nobody on here has raved about the syn free SW ready meals but they are an option. Perhaps you could do a meal plan/shopping list with a mix of easy things alongside those that take a bit of extra effort. Easy doesn't need to be a ready meal either. Things like a stir fry or simple pasta dish don't take long and if you could set aside some time for batch cooking things like Bolognese and chilli then you can make your own tasty, healthy and syn free ready meals for CBA days.
Not feeling great today, tummy feels a bit fragile and it's not all down to wine syns!:rotfl: We'll be eating early so may skip lunch and just snack on some ham and tomato before dinner. I'm going to have a HM ready meal as couldn't face getting meat/fish out to defrost as couldn't decide what I fancied earlier.
EE menu plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, 2 fried eggs
L: ham & tomatoSW Bolognese
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, Parmesan (although may be OK in HEA if I don't have too much tea).0
