  • I am a bit frustrated right now :(. I purchased Aldi Cowbelle Light Cheese Triangles 8 pack and ate 4 x 17.5g yesterday/today thinking they were a HEA..

Turns out they aren't! That means an additional 6 syns yesterday and today.

Well I had first WI on Moday and after sticking with the plan to the flamin' letter I STS!! How has this happened? Thoughts anyone? Gutted.

spuddysue it can be hard when you are working "funny hours".Is it shift-work you do,or the same hours each day?

Immediate thoughts: are you measuring out your HE's? 25g of cheddar cheese is not alot, for example-it is easy to overdo that.Same with milk.Even if you use skimmed milk (green top),250ml doesn't go far if you have it in cereal as well as cuppas.Mistake number 1 I have made.........

Are you only having 1 HEA and 1 HEB?Mistake number 2 I have made................

[STRIKE]The speed police[/STRIKE] Lots of people will tell you how important speed food is.Plate should be at least 1/3 speed foods.Everyone here knows how fussy my kids are food-wise,so for a simple life,I used to cook peas and sweetcorn as vegejust about every night.Neither of these are speed. My mistake number 3..................

You sound determined, which is great. It mighty just be a matter of fine-tuning a bit.Do you go to group? If you post your menus here, even if they are a bit all over the place, people can advise.

    Good luck x

    Here you go,wizkid1:

    (Serves 4,and 3.5syns per serve)
    • Low calorie cooking spray
    • 150g open cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
    • 2 level tbsp cornflour
    • 275ml skimmed milk
    • 1 level tbsp dijon mustard
    • 150g fat free natural fromage frais
    • Salt and ground white pepper
    • 1 tbsp snipped fresh chives
    method

    1. Spray a saucepan with low calorie cooking spray and cook the mushrooms for 6-7 minutes over a medium heat until softened. Stir the cornflour into 4 tablespoons of the milk to make a smooth paste. Pour the remaining milk over the mushrooms and heat gently.
    2. Stir the paste into the mushroom mixture along with the mustard. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously, and cook for 1-2 minutes until thick and smooth. Remove from the heat and gradually stir in the fromage frais.
    3. Reheat very gently (do not boil or the fromage frais will curdle). Season to taste and scatter over the chives before serving.

  • I've been AWOL for the week due to the modem breaking  anyway a new one is now in situ.

    I have a loss of 5lb

To record. I'm really pleased but need to get more strictly on things. I know that I'm beginning to let things slide a bit and a few unaccounted 'extras' have been slipping. This has happened every time I've been on slimming world and I really need to get over it and accept the fact that I'm in this for The long haul..
  • maman thank you for pointing out the blueberries and bananas, I knew bananas weren't speed food but had presumed - without checking:o that blueberries were so I shall bear that in mind:)

    Today I've had
    Breakfast - Dorset cereals (he)
Lunch- tomatoes, cucumber, basil, cottage cheese and smoked salmon, a nectarine
Dinner. - really yummy:D brown rice, spinach, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, garlic, courgette and low fat sausage (4syns) with Parmesan (he)

I have a serious glut of courgettes so any inspiring recipes would be very welcome. I've put a ratatouille in the slow cooker ready to add some butter beans for tomorrow.

U took the words right out of my mouth!!! I said to a friend the other day I'm sticking to dogs and cats:rotfl: I have never right now but I will do again some day!

Lol Noooooo dogs are for life had to have my baby rehomed when I had to go and care for my Mother, I left him with my Ex and he gave him away cried more over the loss of my dog than I ever will for a Man, except my Son. Or my Mum either

I did have in mind to get another dog but after carefully looking into it decided it wasn't fair to the dog, I am almost 70 now I don't drive and would have to rely on someone else to take it to the vet if needed, if I became ill myself, lol not planning on it but you never know, my furry baby knocked me over and put me in hospital for a couple of days. would need someone to take care of it.

A Man is much easier to let go than a Dog and of course unless you are really unlucky you don't need to pick up poop :rotfl:

Have been looking into a scheme where you only foster a stray or unwanted dog until it finds its forever home but the overall responsibility for the dogs welfare belongs with the scheme, and am thinking that might be the way to go, cos I do miss the wobbly dance :rotfl: providing I stay o my feet..

Thanks saver upper for your encouragement. I do struggle a little with speed foods as I don't eat veg, but I eat lots of strawbs, nectarines, plums etc. I have counted everything that I have eaten honestly. I think/hope its just down to the fact that I am eating things like pasta/potatoes more freely now and maybe this is just taking some getting used to. I'm waiting for my leader to get back to me with her thoughts on my diary. Just had fabulous dinner, jkt spud, salad and spiced up chicken breast. Allowed 5 syns for light salad cream and a tbs of coleslaw? hope everyone has had a good day.x
