    Well,tonight was a STS
I am happy with this, considering it is school holidays, the all-you-can-eat meal I had on Thursday, and the fact that I am already in target range.I was really just aiming for a pound loss to touch my exact target, but I am happy with this.

At group tonight it was also announced that SW is about to release a choc-orange Hi-fi bar.Getting a taster next week!

    Today's menu:
    Breakfast:1 apple

Lunch: 2 slices wholemeal toast with Flora light (1 syn),Marmite

    Tea: chicken,mash potato (maybe 2 syns),brocolli,baby sweetcorn,carrots
    a peach

Dessert: 2 Hifi bars (6 syns)

Skimmed milk used in cups of tea

I fogot to ask at group tonight,but......I am within target range, but would like to lose another pound to reach my target exactly. For this reason,I have been synning things like Hifi bars today (because I have already had toast as HEB),and cheese on potato skins yesterday (because I had already had milk in cups of tea as HEA).Is this right,or do you think I should be having my 2 HEA and B's each day anyway?

Well done on the STS. With regard to the losing another pound I think you're probably right to syn the extra A & B.

The usual thing which is said to maintain once in target is to have extra HEBs rather than HEAs and the fibre is better at filling you up than dairy.

I usually have my 105 syns over the week and then HEAs and HEBs are usually a bit more than they're supposed to be and I seem to lose 0.5lb one week, gain a lb next week, lose 1lb the next etc and have managed to stay in target for over 4 years. I think after my longer holidays (3.5 weeks) I might go a lb over target range and then stick rigidly to plan for the following week to get back in target. I certainly haven't paid since being at target:T.

Back again with my menu plan for today. It will be another EE day:

    B - Toasted bacon & mushroom sandwich
L - LO oxtail stew (but not sure there's any meat left in it, lol!)
D - Fish, chips & peas. Not sure what fish yet as will need to buy some when I go shopping later

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - bread
    Syns - tartare sauce 2.5

Shrimpy – Be kind to yourself, it really does take time to recover from an op mentally and physically. Just had one 6 weeks ago myself and only getting back to me last couple of weeks.
Mumoftwo – You are fabulous and swimming is one of the best exercises that you can do!
I went back to the gym last night and was really pleased that I did an hour on the treadmill and 6k (walking). I’m going back for more tonight. It was great to get back and when I was there I was reminded that there are all shapes and sizes there and we are all just the same….just trying.
Greenbeanie1 – That’s totally it it is for the long haul. I lost 6.7 stone and now have regained 2 stone not all purely down to being unwell but letting bad habits slink back in and maybe not caring about it or having as much enthusiasm about it as I once did. Mind you I'm not being too hard on myself. Committing to it for the long haul come what may in our lives is the only way for success and we are all only human we have good times and bad but it’s the trying matters. I’m definitely against the starving yourself route as it will just all come back on with more! Enjoy your cake!! Happy Birthday!
:mad:Re the Car BEG always the way but well done on the loss!!
    Todays menu
    B: Muller Light & 27g Porridge Oats
L: Rocket, Chicken Tikka Pieces, 1/4 Tub Sainsburys BGTY Couscous, Cucumber, Sweetcorn, Reduced Fat Feta Cheese
D: Bacon, Beans, Egg, Mushrooms, Tomato & fried potatoes after the gym
    Snacks: Square of Dark Chocolate.

Lantana - Just wanted to let you know that you can have a few more porridge oats for your HEB - it's 35g; those extra 8g will make all the difference!

Thanks for that. :A I got 10 Express Porridge Chunky Oats & Barley Individual Sachets in Sainsburys for 50 p so I'm using those up but yes thought it seemed a bit skimpy! I had 30g in my head though!

I'll have look for some 35g ones when I buy more Oats. I like the little sachets for keeping in the desk drawer in work! We have mice :rotfl:

There are also bigger mice in the fridge that steal my cooked ham on occasion!

Any body use or cook with quinoa??? Quite interested in trying it but not sure what to do with it. How bad are the Tilda / Uncle Bens Pouches ?

My story is much like denise in that I've been at target for four years come August and only never slipped below never above range. I'd agree with synning any additional HEXs but that's because I know the recommended way of staying at target wouldn't suit my lifestyle. So, for example, you went out for the all you can eat this week and that meant you got STS. Personally I'd prefer that as a way at keeping at target than having extra HEXs. What I tend to do is stick to plan and 105 syns as a default position. That keeps me at the bottom end of my target range and then I know I have slack for a gain on occasions where I go out for off plan meals or go on holiday. I know I've been moaning a lot about my holiday gain but I'm still in target range so it's not all bad.

Abbafan I think you'd find the group really useful. I started 5 years ago, I didn't have much to lose but I had been suffering severe depression and was very low and found the group really helped me to get out and about and of course to make some new friends.

I've been at target for over 4 years now and still go every week and am part of the social team.

    Denise

I only go about every three weeks on average and sometimes I pop into any local group (I live in a big city so lots of choice) to weigh and go. So I do keep up with the friends I've made but mostly I keep going to have access to the syns on line, to weigh without having scales at home and to keep me on track!!

Well done on being on the social team denise. Ours come and go as they get to target/give up. Sadly there is one young woman (on the scales) who seems to just come for the social side and rarely loses anything. She definitely has emotional issues but I suspect she'd say she'd have gained even more without keeping a bit of a grasp on SW. The psychological side of weightloss has been a revelation to me since joining SW.

:T on getting back to the gym lantanna. You seem to have done really well at your first attempt, do be careful not to overdo it. Good to hear you back 'in the zone'. Pouches of quinoa with rice (Uncle Ben's) seem to be around 2.5 syns.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, scrambled egg, HEA milk for teas
    L: JP or soup
D: chicken in bacon with mash and roasted veg
    Syns: scrape of spread

When the lemon hifis came out beanie - our consultant gave us a free bar so that we could tell everyone how lovely it is. :D I think the social team may have received a xmas pressie from consultant too. I have been the 'weigh lady' for our class and I really enjoy it. It can be so funny how people feel that they have to justify any naughtiness to me as they are stepping on the scales :rotfl:. The removal of clothing, jewellery, glasses etc also amuses me and I just wonder how far some people will go

Talking of hifis - think there is a new choccy orange out next week.

Got a clean bill of health from the dental check-up this morning so now just waiting for garage to call to say they have part for car. Thinking now we are not going to get it done and back home today. Don't really want to travel too far when we know that one of the indicators isn't working - just our look to get spotted and fined.

Still cold and wet here and the central heating is on :(
