Hi Abbafan
I go to class. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's grown on me. The people are friendly in my class and genuinely want to know how you've done. On the other hand, there are a lot of people that go it alone with support from fb ages, this board and instagram.0 -

tomorrows my birthday so dh is going to make salad and homemade burgers with all the trimmings so shouldn't be too bad but there is likely to be birthday cake:o
My consultant has said to me many times, when I am having a bit of a grumble, about looking at the 'whole picture' and I totally agree with her we just need reminding every now and again.
Happy birthday for tomorrow:j:j:j How lovely that DH is planning the meal for you - enjoy it and that goes for the cake too:rotfl:

Had a card for Slimming World pushed through my door today and am thinking about going.
Have thought about it before, but my local group was in the week which isn't possible for me. This new group will be on a Saturday morning, which is perfect for me.
Are the groups worth it? Not only do I need to lose lots of weight, but I need to meet new people, especially people who are in the same situation as me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome aboard Abbafan :hello: Hopefully by attending class you will meet lots of lovely new people and be able to get to grips with SW at the same time. Don't forget, if you have any questions just shout up and someone will be along to help you out. Good luck for Saturday.
Well I am reporting a loss of -2lbs this week Shala. Quite pleased with that for this week but will have to be careful as I have booked a hol in for next Monday as we are at wedding on Saturday, got an afternoon tea booked (doesn't particularly look SW friendly ) and we have a luncheon booked. Hoping to stay on plan til Saturday
No improvement in weather here - still like winter. Got dental check first thing in the morning and then car booked into garage. Hoping it was just a light bulb - no no it couldn't be anything simple like that - need a whole bloomin rear light cluster plus this bit and that bit - as far as I know they are main dealer parts. Expecting bill around £200
Have a good week everyone

Well done b-e-g:T Good Loss!!
Sorry to hear you're poorly shrimpy. Get well soon:).Greenbeanie1 wrote: »B_e_g you are absolutely right it's all about attitude and it's something I really need to work on. Have a great birthday greenbeanie. Sounds like the cake could be within syns so enjoy it!
I think that's why SW have the half stone certificates because looking at a far off target is too much to take in all at once. Just plod on week to week and you'll get there eventually. And keep posting!Abbafan1972 wrote: »Are the groups worth it? Not only do I need to lose lots of weight, but I need to meet new people, especially people who are in the same situation as me.

I'd definitely go this week and see how you get on. It'll cost you £10 (£5 for joining and £5 for the first week's fee) but you'll get all the books and the introductory talk. If you don't think it's for you then you need never go back but you can follow the plan with your books and the help on here. But if I were you, I'd persevere for a few weeks at least. I'm sure if it's a new group your consultant will be trying hard to do everything right.
I joined lantanna in a square of dark chocolate tonight;) but otherwise stuck to plan completely. Not feeling quite so bloated and should be able to stick with it 100% until Friday.0 -

I should be delighted but I have so much to lose I think in my head I thought it would be 1/2 a stone or more. Ridiculous I know.
Aww,Greenbeanie1,that is a fabulous loss :j:j.Remember how scared you were this time last week about even stepping on the scales? You have done wonderfully.By this time next week,I am sure you will get your 1/2 stone certificate, and you just keep chipping away at it.Well done!!SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Well,tonight was a STS
I am happy with this, considering it is school holidays, the all-you-can-eat meal I had on Thursday, and the fact that I am already in target range.I was really just aiming for a pound loss to touch my exact target, but I am happy with this.
At group tonight it was also announced that SW is about to release a choc-orange Hi-fi bar.Getting a taster next week!
Today's menu:
Breakfast:1 apple
Lunch: 2 slices wholemeal toast with Flora light (1 syn),Marmite
Tea: chicken,mash potato (maybe 2 syns),brocolli,baby sweetcorn,carrots
a peach
Dessert: 2 Hifi bars (6 syns)
Skimmed milk used in cups of tea
I fogot to ask at group tonight,but......I am within target range, but would like to lose another pound to reach my target exactly. For this reason,I have been synning things like Hifi bars today (because I have already had toast as HEB),and cheese on potato skins yesterday (because I had already had milk in cups of tea as HEA).Is this right,or do you think I should be having my 2 HEA and B's each day anyway?SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Hello, abbafan.
Delighted for you, b_e_g and greenbeanie.
Well, I’ve only had 4 ½ syns today.
Tuesday
Breakfast: hexb porridge, nectarine
Lunch: ham & egg salad (mixed leaves, tomatoes, radishes, spring onions, celery, beetroot), hm coleslaw (1 syn for mayo), apple
Dinner: meatball jambalaya (2 syns), hm meringue (2 syns), fruit, ff crème fraiche
Snacks: WW lemon slice (4 syns), hexa cheese & grapes, choc digestive (4 syns), 2 Garibaldis (4 syns)
I will have a max of 13 syns because I won’t have more than 3 snacks and one of these will be my hexa cheese and grapes; I may not have the meringue either as I’m not fussed about them.
Fingers and toes crossed already.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Abbafan I think you'd find the group really useful. I started 5 years ago, I didn't have much to lose but I had been suffering severe depression and was very low and found the group really helped me to get out and about and of course to make some new friends.
I've been at target for over 4 years now and still go every week and am part of the social team.
