I also found "Uncle Ben's Rice Time"
You could add some egg or something else to the rice if you need protein, seems easy to heat up with a microwave
Different flavours too, when they are on offer they are 99p, so check out mysupermarket.co.uk website for the deals...

Morning all. Another quick post from me, start a new job this morning so feel quite nervy about the whole thing. I know I'll be fine once I'm there but just hate the anticipation!!

Well done to all you losers, lantanna that dress is gorgeous!

b: porridge (hexa and b) and banana
l: packet bachelors golden rice (1.5syn?) and salad, fruit and yogurt
d: spicy tomato pasta and broccoli

no idea about the syns yet! Quite a carb heavy day today but I don't want to all of a sudden become starving while at this job, I can get quite irritable when hungry!!!! :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone xx

This one is 6 syns so I'd be careful if you're using these often!

The others range from 5-7 syns a pot.

You might be better using a pouch of rice @ 1-2 syns and adding some free chicken chunks in with it..

You lot :naughty: I'm starting the day off with a nice wholesome, clean post :A

    Good morning all

Daisy, hope today goes really well.. Congrats for the new job, hope everyone's lovely x

I have nothing planned for today other than a bit of housework so a lazy day of magazine reading and list writing..

Menu for today Will be EE but nothing planned other than steak and hassle back potatoes for dinner.. I also have a melon that needs using up so that'll be my free food mostly..

    Have a good one xx

I agree, I will take this further...

US Brits seem to like our sauces, e.g UK spaghetti bolognese, VS Italiam spaghetti bolognese.

With this in mind, and remembering there will be too much sauce for the rice dish, one could use half of the sauce one day, and maybe bring in some rice or make packet rice the next day and use the rest of the sauce which will keep well.
This means one has variety, and half the Syns :)

Your idea with the pouch rice is also great!
The chicken is only suitable for non vegetarians, so for non meat eaters one could add protein via egg for a more satisfying meal.

Ha ha I went to the Drs a few weeks ago on a Friday and got abuse in work about it being a code name for the pub. I'm starving this morning but can't be bothered making anything just yet

Do you use all the sauce or half of the sauce beanie?
For me, there is simply too much sauce for one serving.

I think Shala has a great idea using the pouched rice, I am going to buy some, so I can use the other half of the sauce without waiting 12 minutes for the rice to cook.
