Welcome GreenBeaanie1,we are a friendly bunch around here, and you will be made to feel very welcome :j:j.
I have never done Sw online-always gone to group,so don't know personally, but from listening to other people,it sounds a bit lonely.I think it must give you access to the SW website, but there is not the moral support like a group (or this place!) would give you.
I don't think you can get the books as an online member, but willing to be corrected (I have heard people complain before that online members have no way of getting hifi bars, etc,so assume it's the same with books)
If it was me,I would probably just stick around here:we can all help you out with questions, syns, and pokes with very big sticks when you need them :rotfl:.
I know you say you would be disappointed if you step on the scales now,but can I suggest you look at it another way?Whatever you weigh today, that is the last time you will see those numbers on the scales :j:j.So as you lose, you will know exactly where you started from, rather than always wondering how much you have actually lost.If it was me,I would want to be able to say "0n Sunday 19th of July I weighed X stone and X pounds.Look how far I have come!!" Nobody else ever needs to kow those numbers-it is just for you.
Welcome to the thread, and good luck x

    Hello everyone

I am newbie on this thread. Loved reading all of your stories and successes. Well done to you all.
I joined Slimming World last Thursday, I have about 15 lbs to get to goal.
I am looking forward to trying new recipes, looked at loads last night, added lots of ingredients to my asda order later. Enjoyed reading a few of the blogs last night, some lovely recipes.
I need to cook for a family of 4 so if anyone has a family favorite that you could share with me that would be great.
Upped my excercise as well, going on on my bike now with my DD.

    Claire x

PS thanks Tweets for the info on this thread it's fab x
We're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits. :)

I've had a SW breakfast (HEB toast and two fried eggs) but not sure what the rest of the day will pan out like. Lunch definitely off plan and then, like shala, depends on will power at the party!:rotfl:
Well done on sticking to plan maman? I didn't :o although I only picked at a few bits so maybe 10-15 syns, it could have been a whole lot worse, there were pork scratchings

    V. pleased to report OH's tests all came back clear.

SHALA can't remember if I signed up to the new challenge, if not please put me down for 4lb goal again.

:T:T:T:T:T so pleased that the tests came back ok.. you must both be so relieved.

You did join the challenge before you went with 4lb goal. I put your 4lb gain on is that ok? I can take it back off if you want x
Is that recipe in the lastest mag shala? My SW buddy has bought it, we usually take turns in buying it but I am quite happy for her to keep it a bit longer as she doesn't have online access at home. Will def give recipe a go when its my turn for the mag :rotfl:

Yes it's out the new mag... it's ok, i prefer lasagne :D sorry to any Greek people i may have offended!

If you're desperate for it i can type it up :)

Great job on avoiding hotdogs maisie :T

TIE - grouphug.gif 2 days then you can relax.. hopefully the family will move out the area before you go back to school - we can throw that wish into the universe for you!

Dinner looked nice and colourful Jedi :T good luck for Tuesday!

Welcome Greenbeanie  there are a few people on here who joined online but gave it up after the 3 months as they didn't find it very helpful. As Saver-upper said you'll get more motivation being part of a group so stick around, post your menus and if you have any questions one of us can help :D

Welcome Claire  what sort of thing do your family like to eat?? Most recipes are adaptable to SW, so you may just have to tweak what you already cook and it'll work with the plan!

I have no idea what we're eating today *danger zone danger zone* so far I've had nothing :o so i need to go and sort something out the freezer for tea!

    back later xx

  • Thank you both for your support, I think youre right I seem to be able to find most of the info I need online without needing to join the online SW site which seems to be a lot for what it actually offers. I shall aim to get organised and do a meal plan for the week and start in Monday. I would start today but we had loads of friends round for a bbq yesterday and the fridge has loads of yummy things in it, once they're out of the way I shall be able to commit fully :)

I think I shall start by posting my meals for each day on here for a bit of accountability if that's ok, you can also tell me if I'm going wrong too! and yes, feel free to poke me with a big stick I need it:rotfl:

tweetsPoppy is gorgeous! I bet cuddles from her are the best :D I have 4 cats and in typical cat fashion, they only do cuddles on their terms. All a bit too ignorant for my liking but they're so cute they get away with it :p

blue eyed girl Thanks for the heads up on the sausages, the LM one's sound nice. I've only ever had Quorn meat free sausages before but i fancy the LM ones. I'm a sucker for anything with Rosemary in. Aldi do some gorgeous focaccia rolls and it's been hard not buying them!

Greenbeanie Welcome! :) I hope you have the same success as everyone here. You'll find plenty of help anyway.

    Well done, TIE and wizkid.

Maman, our foorball club is much the same, albeit on a much smaller scale. One of ours started for Swansea yesterday too. They have another of our exs too. And they are looking at another of our youngsters too (ha, ha – ALL our players are youngsters!). Some players we’ve had are doing well in England – Tim Krul, Kasper Schmeichel and Scott Arfield. I guess it’s not so bad when they are not going to come back to haunt us.
Ross Wilson, who’s with you now, had a lot to do with setting up our academy, so you should see good results.

Pull up a chair and have a cuppa, greenbeanie and Claire. I was an online member for over a year – until I found this safe haven. There is lots of motivation (a lovely big pokey stick, not too sharp, when needed) and no recriminations, just support, when things go awry.

I’ll have to look out for those thin bagels, Jedi; I am fond of a bagel.

So far today I’ve had breakfast as planned, but nothing else, as I stayed in bed while OH watched cricket (I cannot abide cricket). May have a mid afternoon snack, but not hungry – yet!

Welcome to the newbies!!! And congrats to the losers :T

This thread has been moving very fast so Im Struggling to keep up with it. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this morning making lemon drizzle cake and scotch eggs, which taste amazing. But all the standing has left me dizzy with brain fog (I have pots syndrome) so a relaxing afternoon is in order, watching a film and eating cake ;)
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Big well done on the losses you wonderful people :T:T:T
Comforting hugs to those in need :A

I've WI with a 1.5lb LOSS  totally unexpected after all the off Plan meals but after a VERY stressful week (yet again) I think I deserve some good news. Have had to hide the bruises from hubby otherwise he'd go ballistic, he's already said he's worried for my safety :(. 2 days to go then I can forget for 6 weeks :). Maybe my tummy will get back to normal(ish) without the stress.

Have a good weekend all :A and keep the faith.

Well done TIE :T:j:T Enjoy your well deserved hols. I really don't think you should have to put up with all the goings on at work that you have. You shouldn't be put in the position of having to hide things from hubby - it's only cos he cares about you I am sure. Will you still have the monster in the new term?

I had salmon today too! With mash and peas :-)

I simply love salmon gbatey. It is now a regular item in our weekly top up shop at Lidl. ;) Like it just say cooked in the pan - sometimes DH does it with orange zest and a bit of juice. Last night he used some liquid smoke that he received in gift set from DS for Father's Day. I think Shala may use this too.

Went for my little walk to Mum's this morning and I seem to have lost a bit of my get up and go - I just couldn't seem to get up the momentum to step it out. :( Had hoped to do SW Race for Life next week - DH doesn't think I should but I would be walking it anyway as I couldn't run to save my life :rotfl: I've told him I will think about it.

Had sneaky wi this morning - usually get weighted on DS's posh scales on Sunday morning as they are linked into my computer and sends me a report. Well this morning my weight started with a 12 instead of 13 (just btw) - probably will be more tomorrow night on SW scales but its progress hopefully. Trying to be quite good as we are at an all-day and evening do wedding in two weeks, an afternoon tea and a meal out all in the same week and I intend to let go then and then reign it in big time until christmas - sorry for mentioning the 'c' just yet :rotfl: Never know I might might be nearing target by then :rotfl:

Totally agree with you tweets - what a difference a year makes. When we were at wedding last August my outfit was a size 24/26 and this year in August my outfit is an 18. :j

Typed this post earlier in the day so as I press for submitting bet it disappears into the ether. ETA - it worked - yaaay

Forgot to say love your pics tweets.
