3lb loss for me this week.

Can anyone help advise how many syns are in chinese takeaway crispy shredded beef? It's not in batter but comes in a sort of sweet and sour tasting sauce.

Hope this post goes as been trying all day to send. Even now the page is all skoo-if :p.
Anyway, answering comments on my previous post! Yes SEN/Deputy Head (she's probably got more) know about bruises but I think they just want to get to the end of term then discuss it (just my thoughts). Yes I am with him next year but hopefully will have a job share (fingers crossed). As to his family, they are really lovely and if you knew the background details you would be applauding them. He can be a loving child it's just the meltdowns that are difficult but explainable if you know the background. Still it doesn't help with the bruises, I do bruise very easily though.
Just wondering how many times I will be saying 'only' so many days, hours, minutes until end of term in the next couple of days :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Can I be a pain please shala - can you please post link for those cakes please. I am not on fb so I might not be able to get into it. DH's little face lit up when he spied your cakes and carrot cake is one of his favourite. Could you also tell me which cake mix it is that you used.

I think you'd need an account to look it up..

She's called 'Not Nigella' and her old account was called 'Positive Puddings and other nice things'. She makes some lovely food, not just desserts...

I can type you up a rough guide..
Ingredients - Wrights Carrot cake mix, 2 grated carrots, 1 can of diet ginger beer

Mix together enough of the ginger beer and cake mix until it gets to a cake batter consistency then add the grated carrot and mix.

Divide between the cupcake cases (I filled up to about half way ish) and bake as normal cupcakes.

You can do loads of variations with different mixes and flavours of pop or just use sparkling water to mix.

I've frozen the rest of our batch.. it's not something I could eat every day!!

    Hiya :)

Wow, the thread is moving fast, or is it just that I've got less time to keep up. The weekend has been really busy, lots of families have arrived and the children have been eager to find out what they can spend their holiday money on.

There was lots in the papers about how we all need to reduce the amount of sugar we eat so I was quite amused at one family, both parents are doctors but that didn't stop them spending £10 on sweets! The children all look very healthy though so maybe they only do it when they're on holiday.

    Welcome Greenbeanie and Claire.

    Have a good week everyone.

    Great loss!:T
I can only find an Asda shredded beef in chilli sauce which is free and a M&S one which is half a syn for 100g. Based on that I'm assuming what you had could be quite low but it's only a guess.

Dinner looked nice and colourful Jedi :T good luck for Tuesday!
Thanks hun! Hoping all this cooking from scratch pays off :o

Is there a separate thread with targets/goals? Or do we just post in our weight loss?
Thank you both for your support, I think youre right I seem to be able to find most of the info I need online without needing to join the online SW site which seems to be a lot for what it actually offers. I shall aim to get organised and do a meal plan for the week and start in Monday. I would start today but we had loads of friends round for a bbq yesterday and the fridge has loads of yummy things in it, once they're out of the way I shall be able to commit fully :)

I think I shall start by posting my meals for each day on here for a bit of accountability if that's ok, you can also tell me if I'm going wrong too! and yes, feel free to poke me with a big stick I need it:rotfl:

Good Luck!!! Sure you'll be fine, let us know how you get on

    Ignore my last question Shala
As blue_eyed_girl answered it for me :D

Message for our latest newbies - have you considered joining in on our Challenge - no pressure ;). Our latest challenge has only just started and runs for about 8-9 weeks. We decided how much we want to lose through the duration of the Challenge and tell our lovely Shala. We then post our losses each week - in big bold/cololoured print and Shala enters them onto her fab chart. It's not a competition or a race - just a bit of fun and a way of keeping track of how we are doing. Have a think about it and if you fancy giving it a go - shout up and Shala will sort you out (she's good like that :A :D). I am sure other people could have said this a lot more eloquently and without the waffle - but that's just me - I know what I want to say but don't always manage to get it down so that it makes sense. It does make sense in my head - honest :rotfl::rotfl:.

How long is left? Could you put me down please Shala.. My first weigh in is Tuesday... so if there are 7 weeks or more I'll go for 20lbs if 6 or less then 15 for me please.

Right! I'm going for my reply and hoping I don't break anyones phone or laptop with my super long post! :o

Welcome fellow newbies :hello: Everyone is so nice here, hope you've had a good weekend and are sticking to plan :grouphug:

I did some baking today! Made the Slimming world Curly wurly cake... but halved the ingredients and made them into bites.
I posted on my blog how I made them anddd I also made a baked cheesecake with peanut butter hottie (which I now love - I darent made a hot drink out of it. I'm worried it'll become a regular nightcap haha :rotfl::rotfl:

As promised for my tea today I had salmon and brocoli. Which was super easy to make. Really surprised I haven't been hungry once this week and have got through the entire weekend without going over my syns  Never stuck to the plan this well before... it's a first for me so I'm crediting you guys :rotfl: I almost can't wait to get weighed on Tueday! :o

p.s. has anyone else tried the overnight oats? Want to make them but unsure how they'll work with fresh veg instead of frozen.

Make them out of fresh fruit, rather than veg-much better ;).

I have never made the overnight oats, but from what I have read,it is the juices of the fruit defrosting that makes the oats creamy/juicy,so fresh may not work as well.Maybe for the sacrifice of a few pieces of fruit and some oats,it is worth experimenting x
