With regard to Speed foods - if you'd had a salad with your scrambled eggs on toast you could have almost doubled your total of Speed foods for the day: lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, spring onions, bell pepper (6 speed foods). I usually also add some cornichons (baby gherkins) and rocket so my salads are 8 Speed foods.

I often do a fruit salad as dessert after dinner which would be another 4 or 5 speed foods.

As you can see it's quite easy to increase your Speed foods by an additional 6-10.

I've not had as many Speed foods as usual today as been away for weekend in motorhome and had only had mushrooms at breakfast and lettuce, cucumber & tomato with some ham in a WM roll.

Dinner Speed foods were green beans and sugarsnap peas.

    Denise

Don't get me wrong i know how I could increase it in that respect. I just feel like i've eaten a lot today already so increasing it at the mo seems like too much. :o

Maybe it's the weather, i didn't end up having the meringue but i have just had some raspberries.

As for salads, i generally find i've got to be in the mood for them. I could have one maybe once or twice a week but i got to the point where i was taking a salad to work almost everyday and just chucking half of it. I got bored and it was such a waste.

    Evening all
Just checking in, I've been running today so I'm a bit knackered but diet wise I've been pretty good. Son had his 18th in Friday and everyone had Chinese but I had salad and salmon 😀. I did have the odd glass of cava and a slither of cake but otherwise I've been good with minimal Syns to make up for Friday.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend

    Morning all :)

    I just revived a dying bee! :D

I was doing my paperwork and took a folder off the windowsill and behind it there was what I thought to be a dead bluebottle and I was just about to pick it up when a leg suddenly poked out, meaning it was obviously still alive. On closer inspection I realised it was a bee so decided not to touch it - it may have been close to death but I know from experience that they can still sting you. I dissolved a bit of sugar in water and manoeuvred the bee into a position where it could drink it, and left it to rest for a while, and it recovered and I've just released it back into the wild.

    Anyway, back on topic:

1940sgal - I understand what you're saying about speed foods, it does seem silly to eat for the sake of it if you've already had enough. My reason for doing it was to focus on speed food in preference to anything else, thereby decreasing the amount of other food. I've done SW on and off for a long time and sometimes challenging myself makes sure I don't get stuck in a rut, eating the same things which don't necessarily have the desired effect.

    Saver-upper - hope you're feeling better today.

Wizkid - I know we say this all the time, but don't be disheartened about staying the same, keep going and you'll have a loss next time. Bodyweight fluctuates constantly and it was probably just timing.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all! Just to mention during this lovely hot weather - DH did the shopping on Sat and came home with Aldi's version of a Twister ice lolly. I googled the syns/calories and it seemed to be coming up as only 2.5. It was a decent size and he thinks only 99p for 5. I don't have access to the SW website to check officially so happy to be corrected but thought it worth a mention. I think they are called Swirlz?

Shrimpy - is it these ones?

Aldi Giannis Spiral Ice Lollies 6 pack (60ml each) 2½

So 2.5 syns is the right syn value if it is these.

I usefully have the Tesco Fruit Split lollies when I want something cold @ 3 syns each and they are a good size so it feels like a treat.

Today I'm having a Green day as I have a load of veggies which need using up before I go to the farm shop tomorrow:

    B - mushroom omlette
L - HM beanburger in bun (kidney bean, onion, carrot) (from freezer); salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomato, spring onions, beetroot, cornichons, rocket, pepper
D - Vegetable & red lentil bolognaise/spaghetti - had planned on a lasagne and then found I hadn't got any lasagne sheets!
    S - 2 Ryvita, butter, cheese

HEA1 - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEA2 - 40g Light cheddar cheese
    HEB1 - Warburton roll
HEB2 - 2 Ryvita (0.5); can also have a lemon meringue HiFi Light if I want to

    Syns: butter 2; pink 'n' white 2.5; Lotus biscoff (2 pack) 3 = 7.5

Although looking at that I don't think I'm going to need to those syns so will be happy to bank them for another day.

Morning everyone, another icky sicky here I'm afraid. Spent most of Sat in bed and all day Sunday on the sofa. It looks as though I have got the return of a health issue that blighted me several times last year :( However I have got an appt with my dr this afternoon so we will see what he has to say. Drs in the past (not my current one) seemed to blame excess weight on any health problem. Well here I am nearly 8st lighter and still got it. So please forgive me if I go a bit quiet for the next few days but I will read even if I dont manage to post.

    Take care everyone.
