I'd like to join the challenge please if not too late . . . how long does it run for? What do I need to do? I'm almost 6 months into SW and 5st 2 lighter this year x

Welcome to the thread, and well done for your success so far, that's an amazing amount to lose in 6 months. :T Details of how to join the challenge follow. The lovely Shala keeps us all on the straight and narrow and posts the results in a chart every week.
    shala_moo wrote: »
The new challenge will run from week commencing the 29th June and finish on the 30th August (just before Bank Holiday Monday) - this gives us 9 weeks.

If you wish to join in with us then please post your target loss for the 9 weeks in any colour or bold or massive or all of the above so that I can see it really easily!

Then each week post your loss in any colour or bold or massive or all of the above so that I can see it really easily It doesn't matter which day you get weighed in on, just let me know the result and i'll add it to the correct week

I will post the chart each week on a Tuesday showing the prior weeks losses and singling out the person who has lost the most so we can make a great big fuss over them

Any questions please let me know.

If you don't want to do a challenge or you want to do a shorter one then let me know, i can easily stop if everyone is fed up of it :)

    Hi All
Not sure who (if any ) will remember me but I wanted to check in and let you know I'm still alive and kicking. My total loss to date is 6 stones 10.5 lbs, still following SW, running 5 times a week and life is good. Work has kept me really busy and I've gone away from MSE for a bit but Id like to come back and get more support to get me to my final goal of 9 stones.
I will read up a bit and see who's who

Hi Annie - welcome back

I visited the thread a couple of times yesterday, but every time I started a post I was interrupted by customers and never finished it (can't complain, it's good to be busy!). We did fish and chips last night and there was such a rush for them at the end we somehow cooked 2 extra portions - a fish and chips and a sausage and chips - and it would have been so easy after a busy day to just eat it, but we didn't. The fish was donated to a customer with 2 cats and the rest went in the bin. :A

Did well for speed food again yesterday: pear, orange, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spring onion, beetroot, onions, carrots, green beans - 11, but nowhere near the number you manage Denise.

Haven't had any speed so far today, but we're going out for carvery so I'll get plenty then.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

have an unexpectedly busy few days, and an argument yesterday resulted in me doing some emotional eating :/ really need to get on top of that again.

Oh well, new day and all that. Still thinking I would maybe do better now with going to group and being able to get hi fi bars etc as then maybe I'll feel I have more invested in my weightloss than just a few clothes sitting unworn. I have found a group that just fits in with our family schedule/commitments. My thinking is I have budgeted myself £15 per week personal spends if I make £5 of that my fee for group and then a couple of pounds on hifis etc then its less I'm spending on junk food or tat - seeing as we are moving I don't want to be buying any more 'stuff'

    Today:
Breakfast: cereal I had 45g of fruit and fibre so HeB plus 3 syn. 1/2 HeA milk allowance
Snack: I'm about to have some grapes and cherries
lunch: I will have some salad that needs eating
Tea: I've just stuck a beef joint in the microwave to defrost as I forgot to get it out last night, then I'll stick it in the slow cooker with some onions and a stockcube to chuckle away for a few hours. will serve with Yorkshires (3 syn) mash, peas and sweetcorn, gravy (2) and a couple of roasties each as I fancy a roast dinner. The beef will then give me plenty left over to go in salads/with pasta and veg for lunches at work this week.

Busy week; bf is off to Poland on Tuesday so wonder bairn is in Nursery a lot - three full days and one half, good for me as it means she will get breakfast, lunch and a snack (they call it tea but it's not quite a meal) on her full days and just tea on her half day (as its an afternoon). I'm working Tuesday-Friday as usual; will get breakfast at work Thursday morning (our own event) and Friday (external networking group) which make the busier days much easier as there's less for me to plan!

    I'm going to try planning ahead for the week then run solely off my plan so;
Monday: fruit and fibre for breakfast (heb +1/2 hea), beef salad for lunch (2syns allowed for low fat salad cream/dressing), pasta bake and garlic bread for tea (allowing 14syns) - running a little over 15 syns but being flexible
Tuesday: fruit with oats (heb) and free yogurt, tuna pasta salad, left over pasta bake (5syn)
Wednesday: fruit and fibre (heb) with free yogurt, beef salad (2syns allowed for salad cream/dressing), beef with potato wedges and veg/salad (will prep/par boil the wedges on Tuesday night so I can just get them in the oven when I get home Wednesday)
Thursday: breakfast at work (syns), tuna pasta salad, not sure about tea - maybe chicken drumsticks and rice
Friday: breakfast at event (syns), salad, jacket potato for tea (with baked beans and salad)
snacks each day: fruit (I have easy peelers, grapes, cherries and strawberries at the moment!)
drinks: plenty of sugar free squash, peppermint tea
Healthy extras: where not specified I may not have them as I often find it hard to have them all unless I'm in the mood for them.

I will need to go buy chicken breasts in the morning as we have run out and I forgot them when I was shopping on Thursday. I may check the prices of some frozen ones in Iceland as I think the prices for fresh chicken breasts/fillets in the supermarkets are heart stopping! Maybe Aldi would be better for fresh meat like that.

I will potentially go to group tomorrow (depends on bf really as he may need assistance sorting the last few things for his trip) and then will use their weight as my challenge start weight - hopefully it won't be too far out from my scales. I'll wear my absolute lightest clothes too

Hi all, would it be ok if I joined you for the next challenge please Shala? I ended this one with a 2lb loss but that just put me back where I started - could be worse though I guess! I will aim for 8lbs again and hopefully do better this time!

I always found Farmfoods to be quite good on frozen chicken breasts Lush, I used to go there all the time before I started using the butchers, haven't used them for a while but worth a look if you have one close.

    Afternoon all :)

Has anyone got a slimming world app on their phones? I'm asking because my group leader said that when i register online, after about 24 hrs it tells you you can download an app so when you're shopping and you want to check something out like syns values you can use the app. But i can't find mention of one on the site. Anyone used it?

I have it on my ipad 1940sgal.. I guess it's the same one as you'd get on your phone.

I find it a lot quicker to get syn values as you don't have to log in everytime.. I just searched for it in the apps store for iPhone but i'm not sure if there's an android version...
