  • Well done Tweets!

I heard about dogging with the whole Stan Collymore thing a few years back when it was all over the news. Yuck though!

Finally had some stock of the SW meals in Iceland today so I got a couple of sweet potato curries to try. I had one for tea and rather enjoyed it - not amazing but definitely nice enough. Portion seemed really large though (I guess it's to reinforce the message that you can eat loads on SW!!), so I plan to finish it for lunch tomorrow.

I think it's brilliant that they publish the recipe to make at home on the packaging - but it threw me for ages when I saw it took 40 minutes, there was me thinking it would be a bung it in the microwave job and it's actually 40 minutes to cook...until the penny dropped...

    Morning all

WI for me today and I'm 3lbs lighter - this takes me over my challenge target so I'd like to increase my target to 14lbs if that doesn't mess up things too much. First time ever that I've exceeded any kind of weight loss target, god bless SW :D

    Done :D..

I'm another who's led a sheltered life. The trouble is I'm afraid to Google to find out in case anyone looks at my online history!:o

You can do InPrivate browsing maman ;) it opens a private box as a separate browser.. some fella told me about it at work. I won't tell you what he was explaining he used it for :p

Think it was Ctrl, Shift and P at the same time..

Well weigh in for me and I've lost 1.5lbs of my 5lb gain.. for some reason the whole theory of "if it goes on quick, it comes off quick" hasn't worked for me this time, so I expect it'll take a fair few weeks for me to get back to the weight I was :(

Got the new magazine and quite fancy a lot of the recipes this issue so I might follow the 7 day plan next week (except the salmon recipe) and see what happens.

Off to bed to read the mag and stay away from you dirty lot.. x

ohh lantanna, it was in the paper that the midwives have apparently been told not to have holidays in oct/nov due to the 50 Shades "influence" leading to a baby boom :rotfl: don't know how true that is though!

We watched half of 50 shades and erm it did nothing for either of us we both turn into mad critics of film characters nah her lips and teeth are awful etc that's not even remotely a turn on look....
Possibly why we don't watch films as we seldom finish it without one of us getting bored or annoyed with a character
But yeah there's midwife notes up apparently about leave although I read the predicted boom from the books was an actual decline....

Anyhoooooo I best lose on Monday :@ not bloody paying her again

    Recipe ideas anyone?

Our tesco has started stocking quorn steak strips - currently having them in the stirfry but rather liking the change from chicken bits so does anyone have any good recipes using steak strips?!

I make a pie filling/casserole thing with it. Sorry there are no exact amounts of veg I use as I am very much a chuck it in and see what happens but I love this and have made it load.

In a big pan add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Add one chopped onion and cook for 5 mins or so. Add chopped mushrooms, chopped carrots, chopped leeks and steak strips. I add around half a bag but it depends how it looks in the pan with the veg mixed in. Sometimes I add more if I've used lots of veg That's why I use a big pan ...

Add enough water to cover everything. Add about 1 - 2 tsp stock powder (I use the swiss marigold one), a good glug of worcestershire sauce and dark soy sauce and a bit of gravy browning (to make it look better!) I don't add salt as I find the stock powderand soy sauce is enough.

Bring to boil and then simmer for half hour or so. I eat it with mashed potato and even not veggy people I feed it to like it. But you could make it into a pie by using light puff pastry sheets.

I'm not sure of the syns per portion but there's not much in it to count as syns apart from the gravy browning? stock powder? and a big pan makes about 4 generous portions.

  • Lantanna, I'm sorry you had an awful day but your post did make me laugh... I dread going shopping and I'm a 12-14 (was always a 10-12) as it makes me feel like p00p.... I honestly think it's the quality of a lot of the clothes though! And sizes do vary wildly from shop to shop.

I had a migraine this morning so been off work today, mostly sleeping, still stuck to plan (even had a fairly good 'dinner' from the corner shop as I didn't have time to make anything) yet sucuumbed to the sweets when I went out this evening.... i have now just consumed a rocky caramel and ripple with a cuppa in bed. Now I'm being tempted by the giant egg OH bought me... but I don't want to open it! Not opening it has become a test to myself.

Thanks for the chart Shala, and well done Smedlay for SOTW. :j

Home again, and cold! I tried to keep up,with the thread on the boat, which does have wifi, but it didn't seem to work very well. I think we must have been in the wrong place where the signal wasn't very strong. We had a good crossing, quite calm, and saw The Theory of Everything, the Stephen Hawking film, which was very good. We could have seen the new Marigold Hotel film last night, but we were tired and it didn't start until 10.30 Spanish time.

You've done well on the food lois.:T for not giving in to the Whoops! Do you have to start work straight away when you get back?

I'm so glad I resisted - 32 syns!? :T - I'd never have dreamed it was that many. Does that include fries?

DH and I open the shop on 1st April so we've got a few days that we're going to use to visit family. We'll be away from tomorrow until Monday, then on Tuesday we'll set up the shop ready for opening on Wednesday.

Thanks for all the lovely responses to my episode!! That's wot I'm calling it lol! A dress has been bought! Hooray! A red v neck sleeveless one from m nd s. It seems to balance me out nd hides the bad bits nd mother says I'll be the belle of the ball in it. So it must be ok as she's not too fond of giving positive comments lol. Mind u she did witness the episode last night. Lol the dress isn't online yet but I'll post the link when it is. Thanks again to all for the support I'll be back tomorrow to comment properly! I'm off to bed it's been a long day xx

Well done for persevering with the dress, it sounds like you've got something to suit you. Having thin arms means that you can get away with a sleeveless dress, which is a good thing. And you kept your sense of humour. :D

Sorry to hear that Beanie, but we know life gets in the way. Is this 'phase' behind you now, or are you still struggling with what life sends to stress you?

I've a feeling there was someone else I wanted to make a comment about, but my mind has gone blank - too many posts to catch up on!

Back tomorrow with this week's weigh in if I can find the scales.
