Mildredd is 100% right about sizing. My clothes go from the infamous fake Size 8 to a 16. Manufacturers can't be trusted. At least you didn't buy any of the dresses. I was in John Lewis last week and there was a woman with one of those style advisers. The dress she had chosen was way too small and just made her look fat. What a pity she didn't go there just before the shop closed.
Lantanna It's great to know you can let off steam and know you'll be understood on here, isn't it. You sound just like me after my day shopping for my graduation dress. I was stood in John Lewis changing rooms trying on a dress whilst my SIL & another customer was discussing my 'faulty' posture in which my large tummy was the main feature.
maman We had a shopping advisor 'advising' us in JL too and she was trying to convince me a dress looked good when it was obviously too big. There was another lady shopping for a Mother of the Groom outfit, the advisor, my SIL and other customer all thought she looked lovely. The Mother of the Groom was not 100% happy with it and I thought the colour was a bit drab, as sort of beigy brown, and thought a more pastel blue or green would have been better. Its put me off booking a personal shopper now.

Also agree with Mildredd re clothes sizing. I can get into dresses ranging from 12-18. Whilst graduation shopping most dresses I tried were either 14 or 16, but in Debenhams I tried on a Coast dress labelled 16 and it was nearer a 12! Even the changing room attendent had said they'd had similar comments all day re the sizing of Coast clothing.

Big Hugs lovely hope you feel better soon. Had to laugh at the swingers.

Re a sheltered life, me too :rotfl: I had a message from a man who asked if I wanted to go Dogging, thought he meant going to the Dog track to see them race. Told my rother who promptly spat his coffee everywhere, went bright red and muttered think you should Google it before replying. So I did:eek:

Oh My , now how did my Brother know about things like that EH :rotfl:

    Recipe ideas anyone?

Our tesco has started stocking quorn steak strips - currently having them in the stirfry but rather liking the change from chicken bits so does anyone have any good recipes using steak strips?!

Sorry, I missed your post yesterday. Sorry you had such an awful day. I totally agree about dresses. I am too tall with a very short body, a high waist and too long legs. (Think giraffe without the long neck lol) Dress shopping is a nightmare :(. Have you tried a maxi dress though? I'm not sure whether that would be appropriate for your event, or whether you could even face dress shopping again, but it's worth a go maybe.

Some days, Chinese and chocolate can cure many ills and, given the day you had, you did well to stop at those.

Well I have got another day over and now I plan my Friday menu.....

Breakfast yoghurt and mixed berries toast.B

Lunch. Veg and lentil soup. 6 veg plus lentils. Banana.

Dinner. Turkey, roast pot mash, peas and carrots gravy 2 Syns York pud 3

    Supper. 2 ryvita. 3 Syns.

Snap! I've just put 5 portions of veg and lentil soup in the freezer and one in the fridge for my lunch tomorrow!

I know I haven't nagged you about this for a while wiz but tomorrow is looking very thin on Speed food for an EE day. Perhaps you could have a Speed fruit instead of a banana and LOTS of carrots.;)

    Evening

I'm getting bored with being on a diet this week. Today wasn't as good as it should have been.

Why is it feeling like a diet? Are you eating enough? Are you craving something synful?

I am feeling decidedly bloated and queasy after lunch out, not sure whether from food or wine syns. I certainly won't want to eat anything else today. Does anyone else look forward to something off plan and then find the 'unhealthy' eating doesn't agree with you?

All I know is that my Mam adds Marmite or similar to give Quorn some taste (cooks tip)

    EDIT
Just found this on the Quorn site, maybe there are more:

I wonder why you are getting bored?
I don't see it as a diet, this is a new way of cooking which I wish to use for life.

I often post pictures of what iv'e cooked, does nothing adventurous like this appeal to you? I have been using the Asia SW book recently.

I eat like a KING, no chance of getting bored here, you could eat like this without missing out too!
I have to watch what I eat due to food intolerances, do you have food restrictions too?
    What is it that's boring?

Just got back from our little mini break - really enjoyed it but was over too quickly. SW hasn't really featured too much over the last two days but hopefully a big line will be drawn in the morning. :D

Have had a quick read through the many posts in an attempt at catching up with you all. Well done losers :T

    Huggles to you lantanna.

Some of the posts have really made me chuckle - you'll know which ones I'm referring to :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for all the lovely responses to my episode!! That's wot I'm calling it lol! A dress has been bought! Hooray! A red v neck sleeveless one from m nd s. It seems to balance me out nd hides the bad bits nd mother says I'll be the belle of the ball in it. So it must be ok as she's not too fond of giving positive comments lol. Mind u she did witness the episode last night. Lol the dress isn't online yet but I'll post the link when it is. Thanks again to all for the support I'll be back tomorrow to comment properly! I'm off to bed it's been a long day xx
