Not had time to read back pages (there's loads since I went on holiday!). Just done a long post but lost it when I posted. Are there problems with the website again?

Had a sneaky weigh when I got home yesterday and looks as though I've gained about 2.5 lb - not too bad considering the number of croissants, pain chocolat & pain raisin I've eaten, plus loads of french bread & several glasses of wine & cider!

With being a bit stricter with the plan over the next few days before WI on Thursday morning hopefully there won't be too much damage!

    Having an EESP day today:

All meals on stuff I've brought back from France and from freezer:

B - scrambled eggs on toast; couple slices of melon
L - veg soup (from freezer)
D - steak, pepper butter; salad including sugar snap peas & rocket from garden.

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB1 - bread
    HEB2 - Ryvita; soft cheese

Syns - butter 2; soft cheese (need to check)

    Denise

PS - you must have posted whilst I was typing Maman; have a great holiday.

    Afternoon all :)

I know i haven't officially joined SW yet but today i'm starting as i mean to go on.

B: bowl of oat granola w/skimmed milk
L: Chicken salad w/ cherry toms and garlic
D: Cod w/ mash, swede, fennel and broccoli with fag! fat free greek yoghurt for dessert.

    Snacks: banana & satsuma

Not sure what granola is classed as in SW terms. I saw it at Asda yesterday, it's Quaker brand and comes in less fat/sugar than the others i looked at.

Just bought some 5% fat mince from Aldi too for Spag Bol tomorrow :)

Joedenise - the website was down earlier when I tried to post, it was probably around the time of your post.

Maman - have a lovely holiday!

1940sGal - I think it's only one brand of Granola you can have as a healthy extra - Special K maybe? But if you haven't joined your group yet I wouldn't worry too much. I'm no expert so happy to be corrected.

Day has just wandered out of the shops holding a bag of cookies - someone please send some additional willpower my way!

    Hello all,

I thought that I should come out of lurkerdom!

I was wondering if I could join you please, I am planning on joining an SW class on the 10th July (I am working on getting rid of all the "naughty" food) with my friend.

I did SW a few years ago and lost around 8st - unfortunately I have found it again.

I've just read a post on another site that said anything that isn't 'free' or a healthy extra comes out at 1 syn for every 20 cals. Is that right?

I'm just wondering because i have been getting one of those Graze boxes a week. The light box. Each little snack comes in around the 75-100 calorie mark. Only asking as I was pondering today whether or not to cancel them.

I am just betting the Graze products (per product) will be taking a third to two thirds of your daily Syn allowance (depending on the product).
They will not be as healthy as you think!

I found this rule of thumb (1 syn for every 20 cals) only sometimes works... It all depends on the what is in the product.
Once you join or get the relevant books, you will be able to work through the syn value of the regular products you regularly eat (be prepared for a shock)!
The good thing though is you don't have to miss out, simple changes and tweaks can be made.

    EDIT
Just checked SW: The Graze products per serving seem normal in Syns for a snack of this type. The average for the listed products is 7 Syn
    SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb

    Hello and welcome :)

Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight finding you again, maintaining weight loss is very hard and you're not the only one it's happened to, I'm in that club along with you.

Having said that, you've done it once so you know you can do it, it's all about setting your mind on it, deciding on a plan and then sticking to it.

Are you going to join a class or go it alone?

    LL :)
