Great wiz and other losers like selement and mim and anyone else I've forgotten.:T:T:TThat's the thing I don't think i could ever give it up, it's a massive passion of mine. On the plus side, I tend to have a bit myself then take the rest in to work or give it to neighbours so as long as i can give it away i'm ok
I went to a party yesterday and was delighted to discover that my SIL (that I've not managed to see for months) has started SW and lost 3 stone!! This is the SIL that was convinced she ate healthily and it was her thyroid that made her fat;). So we had lots of conversations about SW and one was how you need to prioritise syns. Unsurprisingly some men said they couldn't give up beer!:rotfl:So my point 1940sGal is that if your favourite treat is baking then that's fine. It's just that you'll have 105 syns a week, a cupcake is maybe 15 syns to give you and idea of how much you could eat.
The plus side was that the party meal/buffet was very SW friendly both hot and cold. So I had chilli and rice and then strawberries. There was even low fat Greek yogurt as an alternative to cream if I'd wanted it. I did have a few olives and bits but that was my choice as I won't be going to WI until after my holiday so brakes are off to an extent. Oh and I had very few wine syns (one small glass of bubbly) as I offered to drive.:)
tie, why don't you talk to your Headteacher about the stress so that maybe some changes could be made for September?
Sorry to hear about your DH mim. I think you're right to focus on the weightloss as it has so many benefits for your health and wellbeing so that can only help you cope.
EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, scrambled eggs, HEA for milk
L: HEB toast, sardines, cucumber and tomatoroast lamb, roast potatoes, cauli and broccoli, carrots
Syns: lamb will have some fat, gravy, wine syns:j0 -
If anyone was wondering dress shopping went ok. Dresses were a bit over budget though so not sure how we're addressing that yet.
Got a backhanded compliment form my mom about having more of a waist than she thought or something *eyeroll*.I found it a bit overwhelming at first as I didn't really know what I wanted... also theres a few dresses I was eyeing up online and they didn't have those ones!
There was a favourite, but not ordering anything yet. I think I need to try on the other dresses I saw online plus it's still a bit early to buy as wedding isn't for 17 months.
Favourite dress was Maggie Sottero Chesney http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=4MS853JK but without the crystal jacket and with cupped shoulder straps and a belt.
Also really liked Emma.
Will try another shop that has more Maggie dresses though. I'm not sure I'm the type of person to find 'THE dress', but you never know! I think it'll end up being a different one but my mom and sister reckoned I wouldn't do better than that one...
I'm a little worried about adjusting them for my height but they reckoned they can make the skirts a lot shorter without it being noticeable. I was worried it'd ruin the lace pattern!
Glad I had a loss that morning it probably helped me feel slimmer for itTrying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -

On Friday had some worrying news about OH's health so although its really difficult to think of plans for next year I am focusing on losing weight (anything else), as a distraction from worrying until we get all investigations/tests done. Will know within the next two weeks, hopefully.
A cruise sounds exciting :T you'll be able to wear so many pretty dresses!
Hope OH's tests all come back ok.. it's a worrying time when you're waiting for medical resultsI went to a party yesterday and was delighted to discover that my SIL (that I've not managed to see for months) has started SW and lost 3 stone!! How wonderful for your SIL, had you pointed her in SW's direction previously maman, or had she just seen the results that you had and been inspired? If anyone was wondering dress shopping went ok. Dresses were a bit over budget though so not sure how we're addressing that yet.

Afternoon all,
not such a grand day yesterday as bf turned up at home unexpected (he wasn't supposed to be home until tonight) with a take away in tow!
Today:
breakfast: ready brek for breakfast (as HeB with 1/2 HeA)
lunch: we've been to the carvery so lots of lean meat, boiled veg. Yorkshire pudding (3) and stuffing (3). Drank diet coke (it seems bf's mum has finally stopped trying to get me to share a bottle of wine every meal out!)
tea: I am stuffed from lunch, I might just have some salad or pasta with some veggies
Need to work out what we are going to eat until pay day on Thursday. will make that tonight's mission!
I have been contemplating going back to a group in order to get access to some of the books and get hi fi bars etc but can't find one at a time I can do
Bf's mum announced today she's getting a gastric band with her share of the money from the sale of their old rental houseI'm not keen on the idea but she has her heart set and apparently she had her initial consultation yesterday and the surgeon has even talked bf's dad round so now it seems there's nothing convincing her otherwise. She's had no success with SW or WW or the several other dozen things shes made multiple attempts at but she's not like the people you see on shows like 'one year to save your life' or anything

Oh WOW that dress is just fabulous. How much over budget is it and how much a month extra would you have to save to meet it. I would be looking at joining the grocery challenge to see if it wasn't possible to scrape the extra together for such a dream of a dress.Slimming World at target0 -

SHALA its -1lb again this week
Got danger week coming up. 2 x birthday meals and a Father's day BBQ tomorrow. Fortunately I'm not that keen on BBQ's so don't think I'll be tempted too much. On Thursday I have challenged myself to climb 'Roseberry Topping' a small hill in the Yorkshire Dales, before treating myself to fish & chips in a 1950's style diner. Decided I needed to earn my treat if I want this weight to stay off. I used to do a quite a bit of hiking when I was a teenager and have climbed it a few times in the past. Since getting ME however, I've struggled to walk more than a mile without getting exhausted, so this really will be an achievement.

So sorry about your OH, hope your mind is put at peace soon. Would love to see pic of the new dress you have made.Slimming World at target0 -
I was chatting to a new neighbour over the fence this morning and she said she had just joined SW but was finding it expensive. I told her about the reductions in Asda and that I usually tried to go around 3pm on a Sunday. I invited her to come with me as she only moved in on Friday and wasn't sure how to get there. I did warn her it might be a disappointment as its never guaranteed.
Well I was absolutely thrilled and she was gobsmacked at what we managed to find. Packs of lean mince 400g for 90p, 700g diced beef for 1.50 and cod loin for 50p instead of £5. loads of veg packs, sprouts 5p green beans and carrots 10p instead of £1, stirfy etc. We came back loaded and had only spent just over £5 each.
I have lent her my SW books and copied some of the recipes out for her and am really looking forward to a nice new friendship.Slimming World at target0 -
Hi all,
It's been a funny old week for me, lots of days off routine at work and so my eating has been very erratic (that's my way of saying I blew it several days this week!)
I seem to have got a grip again now and hoping for a small loss tomorrow.
Are we close to the end of the current challenge? I haven't made much of a dent in my target this time
Good luck all xxI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
