Hiya
Had a few wine syns tonight so excuse any typos!
Scarlet - thanks for the advice, however I weigh at home, in the morning, usually in my one and only pair of pyjamas or, as was the case this week, in the altogether! I did have more pyjamas but I only have one pair that stays up and they're starting to fall down now!
Shala - that's my thinking too - eat loads and then spend hours in my own gym/pool with my personal trainer to work off the calories.. DH and I have been experimenting with the grill to work out settings and timings for heating pies, and there were a couple of casualties that ended up burnt and had to be binned. We're still not sure about grilling meat - my concern is that it has elements top and bottom and i don't know how dripping fat will react with the lower ones. I guess we'll have to try it and see.
I had a lovely surprise today when someone gave me a ham they'd made specially for me - we had some of it tonight with salad and it was really nice. There's plenty left for the next few days too.
I'm pleased with the muscle foods that we've tried so far - I made spag bol with the lean mince today and it was better than the lean mince we get from Morrisons. I'm not sure what was different, but it was nicer. We had the hache steaks yesterday with salad and sw chips yesterday - I found it quite dense but the flavour was good. Tomorrow we're having the chicken breast in a curry.
Anyway, it's past my bedtime, early start in the morning. Have a good weekend everyone.

Hello all,
Can anyone fill me in please on how Slimming World works, and more importantly why it works for you?
I've been trying to lose weight by myself for ages but with no luck. So i'm giving serious thought to going along to my local Slimming World club next week and am wondering what it's like. I get very nervous about stuff like that, going in to a room full of strangers etc... Though i'm willing to try anything now to get this weight shifted!
Hi there - welcome to the thread.
Slimming World works, there are many on this thread who are shining examples of that. Some go to groups and some go it alone. If going to a group isn't for you, just go along once to get the starter pack so you know the basics about the plan and then join in the chat here, we can provide help, advice and support to keep you on track.
Feel free to ask questions about the plan or anything you can't get your head around

Hi
If you have a look at the first post then it has the explanation of the plan on there, feel free to ask any questions about it.
I think the principle behind it is that we fill up on lower calorie foods, so naturally choosing healthier things to eat and adding in a limited amount of "treats" to keep the way of eating sustainable in the long term.
It might be good to have a look at some of the menu's we all post and see if that would be a good way of eating for you..I hope if you do join a SW class then you'll come and join us also, I find this forum more helpful than class to be honest as you can get instant feedback rather than waiting a week to see your consultant.

Hi Gal and welcome to the thread
I remember my 1st meeting vividly, arranged to go with friends who then didn't stay so was sat listening to consultant tell me everything I already knew (family member was doing sw). Ok so that had to happen, then had to sit through all the happy clappingthinking what the !!!! am I doing here . I persevered though and the next week got talking to someone who then greeted me each week. I made so many nice friends, after all we were all there for the same reason. Must admit I hated the clapping but it's so worth the weight loss. Been at target for 9 years so it does work if you put your mind to it . Hope that helps
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
