    Evening

It's been a lovely afternoon, although the weather forecast was quite different. *shrugs*

Selement - that dress is absolutely gorgeous! :smileyhea

JPS - there is 1 week left of the challenge, it ends on 28th June.

Meg - wow, great bargains. It will be nice to have a new friend too, particularly one that's also doing SW.

Durham-mim - sorry to hear about your oh's health worries, hope everything turns out ok with the results.

Hope you all had a good weekend, back tomorrow.

    Thanks for the kind words.
meg72 I've only made one more dress and as soon as I can get into it I'love take a photo.

Very worried re OH. About a month ago DD1(the dr), noticed he had a droopy eyelid and asked if he'd had a stroke. We thought she was joking, as he is extremely fit(runs half marathons), and did not feel unwell. Two weeks later his work colleagues expressed the same concern and made him promise to see Dr.
Dr thought it was Bell's Palsy but referred to neurologist to put our minds at rest. Neurologist says not Bell's palsy , took blood samples and booked MRI. We see him again the day before going on holiday. Possibilities of what it could be don't sound good, the worst being a tumor. Googled what dr thinks it might be and that is a degenerative condition controlled by drugs with nasty side effects. Whatever the results it's going to be life changing. Think I/we are just numb with fear.

I do hope we get nice neighbours next door to our new house (it's shared ownership like ours but no one has made an offer on it yet). I'd love to have a nice relationship with them. Also secretly hope it's another family with youngish kids so wonder bairn can have a playmate close by!

Thinking ahead to tomorrow: breakfast will be ready brek again as trying to use up all the odd ends (HeB and 1/2 HeA) with grapes and strawberries. Lunch: salad I think. Tea: cottage pie (5syns allowed for gravy) with carrots and sweetcorn. snacks: satsumas, pineapple, strawberries and grapes all available for snacking from the fridge

Activity wise tomorrow: 1mile walk in to town and back to ask an art shop about framing one of bf's playing vests. another 0.5mile, probably closer to 1mile, in town as I have a dentist appointment.
Seriously strapped for cash until payday :/ but I have a load of change I think I may pay in to the bank and then withdraw so I can get some bread, cherry tomatoes, eggs.

Bit of a funny week; Tuesday I have a medical appointment afterwork so it will be a quick tea easy for bf and wonder bairn but no idea what I'll have. Wednesday I'm at a conference all day then reffing a game in the evening so no chance to eat until past 9pm. May try and save a HeB to just have a quick slice of toast when we get back. Thursday is pay day and bf and I are both off - he's treating me to the cinema and food (nandos but not stressing about the syns much as it's our first proper date in ages plus loads of walking round the shops trying to find me a dress for wonder bairn's baptism) so tea will be something light and I'll need to go to the supermarket for chicken as we didn't realise how low we were and have run out as we didn't order any to arrive with the meat order on Friday!) Friday I think I'll do chicken wrapped in bacon, Saturday I tend to leave free and sunday I'm hoping to do beef or gammon as I have one of each to cook before we move! Monday will be bf's choice then he goes on the Tuesday to Poland so wonder bairn and I can eat any random mixes I find to use from the freezer...should be interesting

I was chatting to a new neighbour over the fence this morning and she said she had just joined SW but was finding it expensive. I told her about the reductions in Asda and that I usually tried to go around 3pm on a Sunday. I invited her to come with me as she only moved in on Friday and wasn't sure how to get there. I did warn her it might be a disappointment as its never guaranteed.

Well I was absolutely thrilled and she was gobsmacked at what we managed to find. Packs of lean mince 400g for 90p, 700g diced beef for 1.50 and cod loin for 50p instead of £5. loads of veg packs, sprouts 5p green beans and carrots 10p instead of £1, stirfy etc. We came back loaded and had only spent just over £5 each.

I have lent her my SW books and copied some of the recipes out for her and am really looking forward to a nice new friendship.

I have that problem. I'm trying to save up for hols so don't want to be spending loads on food but I tell you what i like. Aldi's frozen fish fillets. I have salmon and tuna and it's never tasted any different to fresh. A bargain really when you consider how much fresh fish costs! Definitely one to try if you're looking to save the pennies.

I'm going to try the Asda thing too, i always try to avoid my local one as it's just always mental but it shouldn't be too bad at 3pm on a sunday! :D

Well done, Swiper, Scarlet, dubbya, hanert, Sandhy, selement, durham, wizkid and teallach.

Happy for you, lantanna. Take care.

    Hello, 1940sGal.

That dress is gorgeous, selement. I like the little jacket. I’m not surprised it’s your favourite.

So sorry you’ve had unpleasant news re OH, durham. Thinking about you.

I think I’ve given up – sort of. I’m still planning my meals, but I’ve been having too many wee extras the last few days. I think I need to take a wee break from the “numbers” of weight loss but I’ll still think about what I’m doing. Does that make sense? I’ll still be here, just not posting menus for a week or so. It’s the end of the month and again I’ll be using what I have and that won’t necessarily be SW friendly. I have NOT given in.

That's worrying news mim, but do try to be optimistic until you know something definite. Sending a big hug and thinking of you.:A

Good to hear that greentiger. SW isn't easy when life gets in the way. I found I needed to be really strict with myself until I got to target and now it's quite manageable and sustainable. So a bit of a sacrifice to prioritise syns for a while but IMO worth it in the end.

How lovely to have a nice new neighbour meg and isn't she lucky to have you next door!! I've got an Asda a couple of miles from me. I must try that 3 p.m. shopping trick!

I hope you get nice new neighbours too lush. All you can do is your best until payday and then hopefully have a few really good days when BF is away so no distractions.

Not sure whether my SIL tried SW because of me. I think it helped. A friend (even fatter than her and on even more medication) joined with success. SIL was definitely in denial about the cause of her weight and I think me and her friend put together proved she could do something about it if she wanted. I'm delighted for her and when we get back from holiday I'll invite them over and put on a syn free/low syn meal. Maybe Hairy Bikers braised steak. I love that stuff!

Enjoyed our roast tonight and very few LOs. Just tomorrow to manage, trying to stay on plan while using up stuff. At least DH is out most of the day so I've only myself to please:).

Thanks for your wise words, maman. Interestingly, I managed -1lb this week! That's ironic. Oh well, that's a wee unexpected boost. With a bit of good fortune (and a lot of care) I may break even for the end of the challenge.:o

:T well done, you can't have been as synful as you thought.:)

Last day for me before my holiday, so sticking firmly to plan as it'll be the last for a couple of weeks and trying to use things up.

    EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs
    L: ham, LO veg
D: egg and chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, pickled onions
    Syns: squirt of HP sauce

Very indulgent supper for me. My DH hates eggs and as he's out I'm treating myself!!

Back on 9th July and back on plan to lose holiday gain!!:D
