lantanna glad the op went well and  here's to a speedy recovery.

SHALA its -1lb again this week :)

Got danger week coming up. 2 x birthday meals and a Father's day BBQ tomorrow. Fortunately I'm not that keen on BBQ's so don't think I'll be tempted too much. On Thursday I have challenged myself to climb 'Roseberry Topping' a small hill in the Yorkshire Dales, before treating myself to fish & chips in a 1950's style diner. Decided I needed to earn my treat if I want this weight to stay off. I used to do a quite a bit of hiking when I was a teenager and have climbed it a few times in the past. Since getting ME however, I've struggled to walk more than a mile without getting exhausted, so this really will be an achievement.

OH and I have been discussing the possibility of going on a cruise next year so this has spurred me on to lose as much weight as possible by then. Also I've made a new dress which is a little bit too small even though I made it from a size 16 pattern and I really want to get into that by New Year at least.

On Friday had some worrying news about OH's health so although its really difficult to think of plans for next year I am focusing on losing weight (anything else), as a distraction from worrying until we get all investigations/tests done. Will know within the next two weeks, hopefully.

I'm getting a bit confused reading through the posts. All the different names for stuff is going right over my head.

Extra Easy? Extra Easy SP? Red and green plans? 1/2 of B?

I'm far too easily confused and i'm sure it's a lot simpler than i think :)

It's not surprising you're confused, there is a lot to get your head round, but don't worry, you can do it.

If you focus on understanding Extra Easy and EESP (Extra Easy Speed Protein) you'll have made a good start. All the basics are in the first couple of posts on the thread.

Red and Green are plans that SW used to promote and some people still do them. The Green plan is particularly good for vegetarians.

A and B or HEA and HEB refers to Healthy Extras - you can have 1 A and 1 B on EE. A is calcium rich food like cheese and milk, B is fibre rich food like bread and cereal.

You'll find things are a lot clearer if you go to a SW group for the new starter talk and the starter pack. The pack will give you the basics and a list of Healthy Extras.

    Hope this helps.

ahh ok! see that makes it clearer! :)

Definitely going to go along on Wednesday and see what's what.

What happens when you want to bake something? How do you go about counting that? I'm a big baker, i bake something every weekend. I assume it'd be counted as syns?

Yes, baked goods would need to be synned - eggs are free and sugar could be replaced with artificial sweetener which is also free. You can work out the syns in the rest of the ingredients and then calculate the syns per portion.

I used to bake but I have to say I gave it up when I first started SW in 2001 and I've never taken it up again. It's just too tempting to eat what you've baked and it's very hard to see something going to waste because it's too many syns. You may have better willpower than me. :)

That's the thing I don't think i could ever give it up, it's a massive passion of mine. On the plus side, I tend to have a bit myself then take the rest in to work or give it to neighbours so as long as i can give it away i'm ok :D

    Hi 1940'sGal,and welcome greet024.gif.
When you are baking (and cooking meals),you can add up the syns of the ingredients (flour, sugar etc),and divide by the number of portions,to work out the syns of your serving. You can also do this with most recipes.

If it stops you eating naughty snacks later on then your not a piggy-wiggy:D and you barely ate the rest of the day! (I'd have had chips with it though :p)

1940sgal, glad you've decided to join :D can't hurt to try. good luck on Wednesday, and please feel free to come back and join us too.

Still flued up here, had a day of sitting around yesterday and got really bored so my plan today is - washing, get tea on in the slow cooker, pop to town, then cook apple pies for my dad.. Drop them up to him and possibly walk back if I have the energy to get a bit of exercise in.

I bought loads of fruit and veg in the shop yesterday so it's going to be a speedy week!!

    EE today
B - magic pancakes(heb), griddled pineapple, Greek yogurt, berroca energy:D
    L - no idea yet
T - beef hotpot, carrots, cabbage
S - crisps (4) fruit skewers, quark dip

Have a good Sunday all x

When I started off, I delayed getting an up to date info pack, and I had the same dilemma as you Green, Red, EE, #%$£ ... headache!

Once I got the correct info, I just stuck to Extra Easy (EE), you could start on this too, you can progress onto any of the other eating guides when you are confident with EE, to be honest, I have stuck to EE all this time.

It is really not that hard once you get the pack.

You can ask on the forum about food points (syn) values if you get stuck.

    Good luck
