No idea what HEA and HEB will be.

Ok I have decided my HEA is 3 Mini Light Babybels and HEB is 2x Alpen Light bars.

If you do have a smartphone, please download the Mysupermarket app for those essential fridge and store cupboard things you eat regularly on SW. It tells you the price and if there is a multibuy on it too. I'm fortunate that I have the Big 4, Aldi and Farmfoods within 4 miles of me. Farmfoods is about 6 doors from where I work and useful for HEB cereals and cereal bars. 750g box of Shredded Wheat bitesize for £1 last month. I have seen Mini Light Babybels in there too.

Pic of todays dinner, leaves me one more steak for tomorrow undecided whether to have it with pasta or make a quiche.

:T:T:TTo everyone who's been losing the last few days that I've missed. really hoping the site's sorted now. Very poor 'customer service' from mse though.
Those gammon steaks look amazing meg. What a bargain. Unfortunately we don't have Heron near here, I think it may be a Northern chain.
Got a fair bit of YS meat in Sainsbury's today. You'd be proud of me.:D

We do have Farmfoods and I buy quite a few bits in there from time to time. They do Alpen Lights for £1 but only have apple flavour at the moment. Frozen veg is excellent especially their peas and leeks. Frozen Summer Fruits are £1 for a 500g bag. I like the £5 sirloin steaks for making the HB recipe and milk's even better value than Aldi. Fruit and veg is generally good but very limited stock in mine. They do cheap McCain 5% chips (1.5 syns for 100g) for lazy days. Today they had Golden Wonder Rice at 3 for £1 and they're free or low syn depending on flavour. I bought a pack of tikka chicken and gobbled it all up for my lunch.

I saw Laughing Cow cubes at half a syn in the magazine denise, reminded me of apericubes. I might get some for a nice snack with some melba toast. Which cheese sauce do you use? Seems lower syn than the HM I make.
Great idea for the fruit snacks saver-upper. The same philosophy would apply to dinners if they're hungry I suppose.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, baked beans, HEB toast
    L: pack of tikka chicken
D: BGTY burger, SW chips, tomato, mushrooms, peas, fried onions
Syns: scrape of spread, wine, 1 for burger

Not a good Speed day so may snack on an apple at some point. trying the frozen burger to see how it compares with making my own.

We had rain showers again today until mid afternoon. Now it is glorious. At least workers will get the chance to enjoy some sunshine too.

I’m pleased for you, beanie, shala, Lois, sandhy and hanert.

Those dinners looks very tasty, meg. We don’t have heron here either – must be a southern thing, maman, lol.

    Friday’s review
Breakfast: scrambled eggs & smoked salmon
Lunch: tuna mayo (1 syns), salad, tomatoes. WW strawberry tart yogurt
Dinner: leftovers – roast pork, apple sauce (1 syn), 50g (yes, I weighed them!) McCains quick French fries (2½ syns), beetroot, pickled onions, clementine
Snacks: gingernut (2½ syns), hm biscuit (4 syns)
Later I’ll have hexa mini babybel light & grapes

    Total: 11 syns

    Saturday’s Plan
    Breakfast: hexb muesli & fruit
Lunch: hm “leftovers soup” – sort of minestrone
Dinner: something with smoked salmon, Mars ice [STRIKE]cram[/STRIKE] cream (ha ha, ‘cram’ is right!) bar (7 syns)
    Snacks to be decided.

Hoping for a completely sunny day (not being greedy by asking for a whole weekend lol)

There is a small cheapy shop that sells mainly biscuits, sweets, crisps and other high syn foods. We have a couple of biscuit and cake factories within 7 miles from here and they give them the slightly damaged

Spotted Bachelor's Chicken and Mushroom Pasta n Sauce which is free, if you use the milk from HEA and not bothering with the butter for 25p each. I bought £1's worth. Handy when I am having a brunch before my 12:30pm shifts and toss in some sliced mushrooms and cherry tomatoes for added speedy veg.

One of the shop's employees is a member of my meeting. I suspect she joined as ate too many naughty things.

Does anyone have any good ideas for free or lowish sun ideas for lunches at work? I don't mind if they incorporate the HEs. At the moment, I am fine with salad with some cooked meats.

I have access to a fridge to chill the food whilst working and a microwave.

Don't want sandwiches as if I buy a small loaf, I end up binning half of it and its the case I never have room for a loaf in the freezer.

    /QUOTE]

I think the Apericubes must be smaller than the Laughing Cow ones (I haven't seen any yet) as using the Syn calculator they come out at 3 Apericubes for 1/2 syn.

I use the Colmans Cheese sauce mix is 8 syns for the pack. I only have about 1/3 of the pack so count it as 3. I only ever make a proper cheese sauce on a green day - definitely much nicer than the powdery mix!

Hiya - lovely evening here after a few damp hours in the middle of the day. And it's Friday :j so there are some wine syns planned :j

I googled Heron foods and they're in the North and Midlands. Your dinners looked lovely Meg, although I was waiting for our resident speed cop to comment. ;)

Have a good weekend everyone, hope we all get plenty of sunshine.

    LL :)

Edit to add p.s. - the forum seems to be working again. :D
