Crabapple I got new glasses a couple of years ago, the cost is outrageous!! The ones I saw were Gucci, and when you factored in the special lenses so they weren't like the bottom of milkbottles, a large high street chain wanted £370 for them!! I went online and managed to get them for £200 in the end but what a hooha to get the prescription - there's loads of things the optician refuses to put on the prescription so you can't do it. I had a huge argument with them when they told me it was "illegal" to tell me what the pupilliary distance was - it's the measurement of how far apart my eyes are!!!!!! It's a total con to keep the prices up if you ask me. I never wear my malchecks out the house so I should have just got £20 ones :rotfl:
I saw this too on my last prescription, there was missing data.
So did the optician give you the missing data?
Illegal, codswallop #!#@** they are talking
I agree, they make a ton of money from frames, I saw a program once which mentioned this, the glass costs are minimal.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Maman - no it will be HEB + 2 for a sandwich as the HEB works out at 6 syns (60g).
We usually go to Camping and Caravanning Certificated Sites (max 5 vans + tents) or weekend meets with District Associations - mainly because it's much cheaper!
DH has fixed the new mirror so we're definitely away - going to a site where DH can do some fishing. Might try and get the sleeves into my dress this evening and then take it away to sew the hem at the weekend.

Bread seems to be the devils food! I try and steer clear now.

Fay66 I went back onto SW about 6/7 weeks ago (having lost nearly 3 stone on it a couple of years ago) and have really really struggled to lose any weight at all before the last fortnight. I know you can eat as much of the free food as you like but that's not the way it is for me at all. Typically what I was having was either porridge or weetabix for breakfast and using all my hex's there, baked spud or pasta at lunch and various different things for main meals - all with pasta / rice / potatoes. Being veggie made it a lot harder I think. I have totally changed tack now - breakfast is speed fruit and yogurt, lunch has mostly been homemade soup with speed veggies and my hexb bread, then dinner is usually something like pasta / chilli / bolognaise etc (made with quorn). My HEXa is usually cheese of some description. I think I was just eating way too much carbs before. Also, I was using up my syns on chocolate treats, have just totally cut all that out too and it seems to be working for me.
I'll be honest and say I do feel a lot more restricted than I think you are supposed to on SW, however my metabolism just doesn't seem to react the way it does for other folk so I've had to adapt to start losing. There's folk at my group who seem to be able to eat the way that I was in the beginning and are seeing really good losses but I take medication which I think affects my ability to lose so I've just had to accept that it's not that way for me.
Really good to hear you are thinking on your feet, and that your adapted plan is having the desired results.
Everyone is different, and meds could be making things a little harder.
Maybe you could discuss this with your GP, or look up on Google "Drug Contraindication" or "Drug Interactions" to see if "weight gain" or "metabolism disorders" is listed.
This may help you establish if you are correct. In any case, a GP usually has a variety of drugs to manage conditions that may better suit you.
Your GP may be interested to hear if you have a poor metabolism, he might be able to confirm this, anyway, no harm in touching base with your GP, they are always pleased to see people making positive changes, and they may be able to help.
Hope this helpsSW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -

Totm so hoping I'll show double results next week. I really struggle getting bigger losses than 1lb but at least I should find maintenance a breeze if I ever get there.

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes :A. The chocolate cheesecake had a mishap and was more like angel delight with biscuit crumble as it didn't set in time
. Was very rich but really nice, had eaten half when I ask which biscuit they got (was supposed to be gluten free) only to be told was ordinary digestives . Was so poorly in the morning
Mich re the Hawaiian Birthday! You and me both  I had to fill a form in the Friday before my Birthday and I refused to put 49 as it wasn't Monday yet :rotfl:
Feel a cold coming on, throat was a bit sore when I got home but raging now. Taking 60 kids to a multi skills festival tomorrow, deep joy
. Just got to make it to Friday
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Maman - I like your glasses, bit like the ones I bought but mine have teal frames on the inside  i'm a dull person so i'm a bit scared they wont suit me but I've paid for them now! might look like Nancy Lamb once I get them (or Christopher Biggins!)

Mildredd - can you go and have yours altered so they're less loose, I know at Speccysavers sometimes they've fixed mine for free because I bought them from there.
