Don't know if this has happened to anyone else or if someone can help but I'm getting really disheartened this week as I've put on 4lbs since weigh in on wednesday I'm on my 7th week and stopped making a food diary after the first 5 as they were checked and I was getting it right.
I only had 20lbs to lose and until Wednesday, had lost 8.5 but for whatever reason, I've added weight every day.....nothing has changed in the way I'm eating and I tried an extra easy sp day yesterday to see if it would help but it's getting worse and at the rate it's going, I could be back to my original weight by next weigh in! How that's even possible, I don't know!

Hi Teallach don't stop doing your menu plans you can get complacent thinking you know it. This happens to me and it's harder when you have only a bit to lose. I do Green plan and throw the odd E E plan into it. I also have a glass of squeezed fresh lemon in hot water. I think it helps, but you must write everything down until it is imprinted in your mind. I have been doin this since 2012 I had 2 stone to lose and I am 1 stone 1lb away. Yes, it's frustrating when you see others have wine and chocolates etc and they still lose. But ,hey, they are not you or me, everybody is an individual so, everyone is different I think my medication has a lot to answer for. But I am not giving up. Don't you either, JUST write everything down and someone will guide you
I have gone wrong many a time and I think I know how to do it now. But, I don't.
Shala, I have lost a 1lb off the 2 I gained last week yippee! :T:T

The thing is wizkid, I'm a creature of habit so pretty much have the same things to eat each day except for my evening meal which is why I don't really find the need to keep taking note. Yesterday was different however, and I did keep track as it was the first time I'd tried an extra easy sp day. I do still weigh and measure everything, so it's not as though I can even blame complacency in that respect.
Like you say, it is incredibly frustrating that others in the class are eating take aways, chocolate, etc and still losing 2-3lbs at a time whereas I'm sticking to the plan to the letter and am lucky if I get a 1lb off!

I have noticed that only the natural Yoghurts are fat free and Free when 0%. I have never seen a flavoured Yoghurt as Free. I was not really thinking further than trying to offer possible brands and ideas.

I think you are exactly the same as me my meals are much the same I am a very fussy eater and There are things I just don't like so I stick to the same sort of foods. Very boring really but I still put my menus up every day and unthinkingly gone wrong somewhere. Still, if your sure. I do know how frustrating it is especially when you have stuck to it. It is hard. Remember slow to come off slow to go back on. I lost my weight before in 1972 slowly and I didn't regain until I stopped smoking in 2003 just have patience.:):):)

People lose weight at different rates due to a number of reasons. If they are larger to start with they might be burning calories faster. Everyone is different.
Some diet plans just don't suit people for whatever reason, but perhaps there's still a way this can work for you. Is it worth sharing your meal plan on here just in case?

Some other things you could try - increase amount of speed food. Consider smaller portion sizes particularly of carb heavy foods (this might be a bit controversial because SW promotes eating as much as you want, and this does work for a lot of people, but from a calorie point of view if you are eating a really large amount of food I think it could possibly have an impact).

Sometimes eating meals more regularly can make your metabolism work better, so try not to skip breakfast. I did hear once the key to weight loss is to have something like 5 small meals a day instead of 3 bigger ones. It can be a bit impractical to do that (it would be too impractical for me) but if it could work for you give it a go.

Are you including any 'hidden' syns in things like drinks? Gum? Mints?

Are you exercising? It might just boost your weight loss a little.

Also be careful weighing too frequently, you say you've gained 4lb since Wednesday. So was Wednesday for official weigh in day? Are the scales you are comparing at home? All scales aren't the same, my weight is 2lb lighter on my scales at home than the SW scales, and home scales being cheaper are usually less reliable. Also for greater accuracy the weight should be measured at the same time of day under similar conditions (start of the day with an empty stomach being most reliable, but this may not be possible depending on your group).

ETA: This week I stuck to plan and lost 1.5lb, but usually I'll have a day where Ill have far too many syns and only lose 0.5lb for the week. A loss is a loss and small losses add up! My consultant tells us the SW biggest losers average weight loss per week is a lot lower than you might think (I can't remember what she said, but I think it was less than 1lb per week). Slimming world is a long game not a quick fix.
Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)

    Yay!!!! I'm all for that!!:D
teallach, try not to be too disheartened. Everyone's weight fluctuates across the week, even at different times of the day. The best thing to do is to weigh once a week on the same scales wearing much the same having eaten much the same that day. This controls as many variables as possible.

I agree with selement about the questionable SW 'fill your boots' with free food message. I think they are acknowledging this doesn't work for everyone by introducing SP. While I've only done a few meals and the occasional day of SP it has made me more carb conscious.. I still have a generous portion at most meals but balanced off by an even more generous portion of Speed food.

I think the other issue is that you didn't have much to lose anyway. It's the same with people getting close to target, weightloss often slows down.

I'd suggest you just keep plodding ( a favourite saying on here;)), watch you carb intake and really try for some variety in your meals. And use your syns. If you look at people's menus, some will be having wine and chocolate but others will be snacking on biscuits or crackers that's personal choice. You're very welcome to post your menus if you think it'll help.:)

Oh dear:(, do you know why rummer? How's this weekend going? I know you find weekends difficult.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEA milk, scrambled eggs
L: I had hoped to have some patatas bravas left from dinner but we were very greedy.:o so probably JP again as I have a big bag to use up (cottage cheese, beetroot, spring onions)
D: Jamie Oliver pork (with carrots, red onion, garlic and celery), SW roast potatoes & parsnips, cauli, broccoli, cabbage
    Syns: gravy and weekend wine

I've got a HEB going begging but probably won't bother.
