I'm sure you enjoyed the game very much, maman - although the result would lose it's shine in JL.

I'm really missing the footie. We don't play again until the cup final - 4 weeks after the league season finished for us! Our opponents are still playing, so we'll have lost match fitness in comparison to them, never mind that they will finish third in the top league to our 5th in the championship. Not holding out a lot of hope, but "expect the unexpected" all the same.

We had a lovely, if bracing, trip on the Maid of the Forth - howling gale, big waves (and crashing glassware in the boat's bar)and glorious sunshine. It was a lovely change. We went to wetherspoons for tea which wasn't wonderful, but satisfied our fresh air appetites. I had the peri peri chicken skewers with rice and pancakes with compote and ice cream (shared with granddaughter).

Thought tomorrow's 2 fat ladies lunch was going to be off when I printed the voucher and discovered it expired at end of April!!!!! But, after getting in touch with restaurant and supplier (5 *m) it's all sorted and we are going after all. Great service - 8 o'clock at night too; I didn't expect a reply from either tonight.

    So Sunday will be:
Breakfast: ff yogurt & fruit (I'll have a lie in and then I won't be hungry before I go)
    Lunch: champagne lunch (2 courses)
Dinner: Thai carrot & coriander soup (3 syns)

    Evening all :)

Syns are there to provide variety or to make life easier. For some, they are for treats, for others alcohol. I will use them to make a meal more palatable with a sauce mix or gravy for example.

I used to go to class with a friend who was very strict with syns, she allowed herself a maximum of 5 per day which she used for chocolate. She was horrified that I incorporated syns into my meals, but we both lost weight in our own ways.

We all have choices and what it comes down to is whether it works for us or not. If SW forces us to change our diet so much that we're not enjoying what we eat anymore we won't stick to it. Using syns allows us to be flexible and means we are more likely to stay on plan and lose weight, which is why we're all here after all.

Planning is an important part of SW, it gives you the opportunity to decide what you want to do with your syns and can give you something to look forward to at the end of each day, or on a particular day of the week, or at weekends - it's up to You!

Very good points, I hadn't thought of Syn's like that, but it's so true.

Hmmm, well that was a strange evening.
At 7.30 I was all set to make chicken tikka for OH and mine tea for when he comes back in from work.I was just about to start, and 8yo comes in and asks if we are still going out to the Cub/Scout's night tonight, that started at 5.30pm .I got everyone to get their shoes on,we got in the car and were gone!By the time we got there, alot of the activities were packing up,most food had been packed up,etc. But the kids had eaten,so they just picked at a few things, had a drink, and we caught up with friends, which was nice.
By the time we got home,I wasn't inspired to start preparing a full-on meal .
I am only just starting to get hungry now (coming up to midnight!!).I am not sure what to have.

All I have had today (but not been hungry):
    Brunch (lunch really,at about 1pm):bacon,scrambled egg,beans,plum tomatoes,1 slice toast (HexB),scrape marg (1/2 syn)
    Late afternoon:a mandarin,an apple,blackberries
Skimmed milk in cups of tea.

Off to see what's in the fridge.

Edited:ended up having a slice of toast with 1/2 teaspoon Flora lite (1/2 syn) and Marmite, and 2 Go Ahead bars.

I really must start organising a few meals to just have on standby:I really wanted to have a proper meal tonight, then when plans were suddenly changed, and we got home tonight,I spent aaaaages looking in the fridge for something I could cook quickly.Went to cook up a chicken curry I could have had on the table in 20 minutes, but when I went to use curry powder, found both the tubs of it in my cupboard were empty!!(I knew one of them was-I had been keeping it for the recipe on the side of the packaging, but didn't realise the other was empty :o.)

What a disaster 2lb GAIN this week.
I know I went wonky a time or two, but I don't seem to get any leeway whatsoever. Others, I notice, wobble off the plan and still lose. Huh! Not me. So, I shall have to behave completely.
I wonder if I had got too complacent. Or, it could be the new medication I have been on this week. Next week will probably tell.:(
Hope everyone else has had losses Hugs to all whatever.:T:T

Hi saver - I keep a couple of tins of M&S/Sainsbobs stewed steak (syn free) in gravy at the back of the cupboard for emergencies. It can a bit pricey though and I understand if you are cooking for family the price/amount wouldn't work. But I have found it handy just to heat up and throw a [STRIKE]bit[/STRIKE] lot of veggies (edited just incase our maman reads :p). Another one we found was Asda Smart Price Chilli con carne (tinned and virtually syn free) - its cheap, had worse but not very meaty but ok to go on a JP. I think really it's just a matter of building a few things up in the store cupboard/freezer for emergencies - hang on in - you will get there. Have a good week.

Love it meg - reading that I will definitely be passing on the gym membership then eh. :D

Aw wiz - I feel for you. Life can seem so unfair at times.

If you are lurking beanie - hope you are ok.

Lunch - JP with egg and bacon mayo and huge salad followed by yoghurt.

Dinner tonight - got a huge pan of broth on - tons and tons of veggies and using a pack of the Sainsbobs cooking bacon (really lean, thick and chunky ideal for broth).

Saving HEs for supper I think and will sprinkle some syns around throughout the day ;) :rotfl:. Trying to be a little bit good as we are going away for a few days this coming week.

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I think medication can have a big effect. My friend ran out of something she was on this week and got her smallest loss yet (0.5lb, she usually loses 2lb or more every week) despite sticking to plan, not using all her syns and going to a spin class.
Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)
