For a snack last night ,I couldn't decide between the Go Ahead bar (twin pack),or an Alpen.I could have had them both
Maman, since going to group last week I have heard someone else refer to rices no longer being free.I can't upload a photo (cos I'm a bit of a technophobe),but is this referring to Bachelors Super rices. They used to be free, now I can't find them in my 2015 food directory at all!
Is it these ones?
http://www.batchelorsrange.co.uk/range/super-rice/
Thank you
That's right, they've changed the recipe to make it quicker cooking so it's no longer free (1.5 syns per pack). Fortunately I bought a few 'old' packs. If you see an old pack it will say it takes 15 minutes to cook and I think it was just called Savoury Rice not Super. Now there's no advantage buying the Batchelors as e.g. Aldi own brand has fewer syns (or rather the same syns for a bigger pack).
As you're going to group, you can find out syns online. It's more up to date than the directory.
DH is out tonight so egg and chips is on the menu.:D Just waiting for my SW chips to dry off a bit then all systems go. I'm doing mushrooms and peas with it so a Green day. I could have cheese and crackers later but doubt I'll be hungry enough.0 -
Just checked the Batchelor's rice packs. I was right that it used to be called Savoury Rice now rebranded as Super Rice and now what's really super about it (NOT!!) is that it's 100g in a pack instead of 120g. So another shrinking food scam as well as adding in syns.:mad:0

Evening all.
Shala, thanks for your concern about me being hungry. I’ve been fine – not had my banana yet. I think it’s because I’m not fussed on pizza and I take ages to eat my wee slice, lol. I’m like a wean! Now there’s a lightbulbmoment – maybe I should always make things I’m not that fond of; I’d eat some very slowly, whereas if I didn’t like ir, I wouldn’t eat any and and be hungry and then I’d go looking for other stuff! Hmm! Better not test that theory, I think.
Hope all went well, lantanna.
Hope all our poorlies are feeling better.
Thinking about you, beanie. Sending hugs.
Congratulations on losses, commiserations on gains.
Saturday’s Plan
Breakfast: cheat Eggs Benedict (2 syns)
Lunch: Thai Carrot & Coriander Soup (1½ syns), WW yogurt, apple
Dinner: unknown – out with family
Snacks: hexa 30g cheese & pear

Thanks Maman your'e quick off the mark.:rotfl::rotfl:
I just saw it and realised what I had done so, I changed it then, what did I see ? Your little comment . Thanks for keeping an eye on me.0 -
I hope everyone is ok.
Thank you for the info re rice,Maman.
A good day today:
Breakfast: plain lo-fat yoghurt (free) with strawberries and blackberries
Lunch: omelette with 19g cheese, tomato, onion, served with lettuce and bacon
Tea:honey and soy sauce chicken, served with brown rice, brocolli, tinned sweetcorn
Skimmed milk in tea,but not all my allowance used.
Might have an Alpen bar with my next cup of tea.
My 6yo DD,Daisy, made me laugh today.She-who-thought-I-was-trying-to-murder-her-with-cottage-pie the other night, was asking me about the plain yoghurt I was eating.I pointed out that the packaging (Tesco lo-fat yoghurt),had daisys all over it.She thought that was great, asked to try "a taste".She thought that was nice, and so twice today has asked for (and had) a bowl of strawberries with a bowl of "Daisy Yoghurt" to dip them in.

Well, this is all very confusing. The packets I have in were purchased pre-October last year, when I stopped going to group. They are called Super Rice, and are 120g.I must double check what is being sold next time I go to the supermarket.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Just asked my friend Google about the rice and found this:
Make sure the rice you are eating is syn free!
Super Rice – update
Important Information
Batchelors Super Rice packaging – the pack sizes have changed from 120g to 100g, and the packs are labelled as ’new’ and ’now cooks even faster’.
We’re sorry for the slight delay in giving you an update – we’ve been investigating the changes with Premier Foods who manufacture Super Rice. Unfortunately, because of some ingredient changes which have resulted in changes in the nutrition information, these products do now have a Syn value.
We have updated all the Super Rice products on our foods database and the new Syn values will show on Syns Online from tomorrow (Wednesday 25th March). In the meantime, because we know you’ll want to be able to let members know about the changes as quickly as possible, here are the revised Extra Easy Syn values for all Super Rice packs. These Syn values are per 100g pack when cooked as directed on the packaging:
• Golden Vegetable 1.5 Syns
• Chicken 1.5 Syns
• Curry 1.5 Syns
• Chinese 1.5 Syns
• Beef 2 Syns
Some discount stores may be selling the discontinued Super Rice 120g packs over the next few months as old stock sells through, and these packs contain the previous Super Rice recipe which is Free.
So it seems the syn values changed not when it changed to Super Rice but when it changed to 100g and a faster cooking recipe. So your 120g 'old' packs are still free. Well spotted!:T
Loved the Daisy story and great that she'll eat plain yogurt with fruit without being poisoned!!
Your menu looks good today. Probably managed to spilt your HEA between milk and cheese + a few syns, some syns for honey. HEB for 2 Alpens if you need them but don't worry if you're not hungry. HEXs are just that extra. I think it would be a mistake to never have them but that's not very likely.;)0 -
Just weighed in (I'm still at group) managed 0.5lb loss which after pizza and buffet I'm thrilled with, although I did my best to make up for it. Maybe I'll actually try sticking to my syns this week and see how much I can lose?!
Meal plan for today: breakfast had egg bites
Lunch will be some sort of SW fry up made by oh
Dinner I think we were planning chicken katsu curry which will have some syns but is super yummy. Need to work out what the damage will be on that one.
Is anyone else like me and think they can get away with having a few extra syns just after weighing in?Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -

Well done, any loss is good when you might have had a gain!
The group I used to attend was held near to some local shops, which included a pizza place and a fish and chip shop, and after class lots of my fellow members would be seen in either of those, so people do think it's okay to go over on weigh in day!
I have something extra as a reward if I've had a loss, but I don't go mad.

All losses are good selement.:T
I know lots of people who think that syns don't count on WI day:D. There is a temptation when you have a bank of 105 syns to rush out and 'spend' them. Personally because my WI is Thursday and I use lots of syns at weekends I manage to contain myself until the next day.;) Also do my meal plan and shop on Friday so not a lot in on Thursday to tempt me anyway.
Last home game of the season today, so last Crunchie until August. Game is arranged for bang in the middle of lunchtime (12.45) so not hungry enough to eat before I go.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shredded Wheat, HEA milk
L: snacks before and after game (apple, cottage cheese?)
D:gammon, new potatoes, cauliflower cheese
Syns: Crunchie, cheese sauce, weekend wine!0
