Having another off plan weekend starting today! DH wants pastry so I've made cornish pasties (these are proper ones like my Cornish nan used to make and they're huge!).

    It'll be an EE day:

    B - mushroom omlette; raspberries
L - LO fish ball curry; cauli rice
D - cornish pasty (at least it has some veg in it, LOL!) 30 syns:eek:

Will also have some wine this evening so well over on syns again.

We're away for the weekend but meals are all on plan but there will be more weekend wine syns.

Will have to total it all up again on Sunday and rein it in hard Monday to Wednesday.

  • Thanks Shala & Maman for the tips. Will check them out.
I think I'll take a leaf out of joedenise's way. Instead of ignoring the slips, still keep track of the syns even when you know it's not on plan. Makes sense to maintain the habit regardless, rather then 'delete' the bits that don't count as it were.

    Oh I love that, it's brilliant :rotfl::rotfl:

greentiger, you'll not be having much for your tea if you're olyy having a slice of pizza and a banana, will you be ok on that? Do you have any speed foods you could add to it to fill you up a bit?

30 syns for a Cornish pasty Denise  jeez... Pastry is a deal breaker when it comes to syns isn't it :(

I've started the day off badly, butterscotch and pecan Danish thingy from Waitrose :o I haven't looked up syns ( e.t.a. It's 21  ) I imagine it'll be nearing to a Cornish pasty :p will try and work off some calories with some vigorous housework!

OH has gone off for his tattoo.. So I have to get the house ready for a bit of a party on my own..

I lost 0.5lb last night at weigh in but I was very dehydrated so I think it was down to that :( bit disappointed as I'd really tried to be good lasts week except for buffet day and even then I didn't have much :(

    Keep plodding I guess...

I would like a chip tower Maman

Me too but I'd prefer it based on the Shard rather than the measly 8 I had last night.:D

I really love pasties, especially the idea of HM. My FIL was brought up in Cornwall and he made a mean pasty with diced swede and potato in it.

I've never really understood SW's idea of how to work flexi synning except for the principle of getting straight back on plan as soon as you can. I think it's better to use a syn bank and at least try to keep within your 105 total for the week. I suppose they'd frown on depriving yourself on the reining in days but I don't see that treats every day are essential. I suppose we're all different.

:T on the losses lois and shala. Slow and steady is good.:)

Not 100% sure what's happening here today. I've had a SW breakfast (baked beans and HEB toast), I've yet to do my meal plan and shopping. DH may or may not be in for dinner tonight. If I'm lucky he'll be out and I can indulge myself with egg and chips so I think I'll keep lunch Green just in case. ;)

i was so ill last night I thought my insides were completely broken :( it was a horrible night. Weighed myself this morning out of curiosity and the scales are reporting an additional 2lb loss! not recording it though as it may just be a fluke...we will see how it turns out in the end next Thursday.

Off to the caravan tonight with my parents so unlikely to be on plan at all Saturday or on sunday morning. Tonight we will be sorting something before we leave so bit more positive there :) I think for tomorrow we will get an ASDA 'feed the family for £6.50' meal deals (main, side and dessert) for us all to share. And perhaps a small treat for Saturday night TV :)

Today I'm just taking it steady food wise after last night!

Can't get much done at work as we are having a systems changeover so occupying myself with thoughts of our new house (we've got a mortgage in principle now so hoping to put the security deposit (its shared ownership so you have to put £200 down to reserve it) either this afternoon or Monday :) yaaaay

To be quite honest I didn't have any pastry at all while I was getting to target but feel I can go off plan from time to time and then just rein it in after - even if I go over syns for the week it won't be too many!

Think I'd rather than a very filling cornish pasty (mine are probably 3 times the size of the ones you can buy in the SM!) than a danish pastry - they just don't do it for me - I find them too sweet. Really hope you enjoyed it - it's a lot of syns if you don't really enjoy it.

Don't be too disappointed by your 0.5lb off this week - at least it's in the right direction:T. I lost nearly all my weight 0.5lb at a time - with the odd lb now and again. Funnily enough my bigger losses (1.5lb came after I'd reached target, LOL; probably when I started relaxing a bit more about it).

    Keep plodding.

When you posted about your tower of 8 chips I thought that was a really mean portion:( - if I'm going to have chips I want to have a decent amount!

I don't put swede in my pasties (my nan never did unless she had some in) but just skirt beef, potatoes & onions. I actually used skirt to make these but often use 5% mince as it's not always easy to get skirt. I'm really looking forward to it for dinner tonight - haven't had a pasty since I went on holiday last September. I always make them for the day we're travelling to eat on the way!

I also can't see the point with SW Flexi synning - if you go completely off plan and then carry on having the usual 15 syns a day you would be going way over syns for the week. At least the way we do it we either manage to stay within syns or only go over by a few. Like you I don't think it's necessary to have treats every day.

Enjoy your egg & chips tonight if you get them:D. It's something we don't have very often but I do like them. Think I might even get them into the menu plan at some point!

    PS Sorry for the essay:rotfl:
