Had a lovely non SW day in France yeterday for DH's birthday. Have totted up syns for the day roughly and it probably works out to about 4 days syns!

Definitely trying to rein it in a bit between today and Thursday's WI but still expecting a gain but not too worried as still in bottom half of target range.

    Today's menu is EE:

    B - SW fry up
L - tuna mayo sandwich - HEB + 2 for bread; 0.5 for LTL mayo
D - slow cooked chicken; roast potatoes, roast onions & garlic; sweetcorn (DGD's request!); peas; brocolli. Will make some onion gravy but I don't have much - probably about 1 Dsp!

Not sure if I'll have any more syns, depends how I feel later. Have got pineapple, strawberries & grapes to snack on if needed.

HEA will be milk in teas throughout the day as usual.

Sitting firmly on the naughty step - serious over-indulgence of pork crackling last night followed by Carte D'Or  What can I say - I ate it, enjoyed it and have drawn a thick line and moved on. :o

Breakfast today was fruit then lunch coucous with loads of veggies followed by more fuit. Tonight is lo pork dinner (no crackling left thank goodness) followed by yoghurt. Will use HEs for supper and may have a few syns this afternoon.

Where has the sunshine gone? We had pleasant morning and now it has gone overcast, breezy and quite cool. DS decided to have a run to the coast as it's his day off - so I will blame him. Bet he gets a bag of chips whilst he's there - ooohhh with salt and vinegar nom nom. Said he might not need any tea tonight but we have to plate him one up and if he doesn't 'need' it he will warm it up for lunch tomorrow - getting him trained. :D

    Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I'm dreadful with pork crackling too b-e-g. My best bet is taking it off and throwing it in the bin but that's so hard.:(

Thanks for all your responses so far, I don't go out to work so packed lunch isn't needed, I have plenty of time to cook breakfast but cannot eat until about 10am as I'm not used to eating any earlier, not many shops and they are about half an hours walk away, but once a week I can get to 5 supermarkets - no markets anywhere near me I'm sorry to say. x

Thanks for that. I do have breakfast every day but I'd suggest you just have something light like yogurt and fruit (frozen berries are good) then have a decent lunch. Or you might want a big 'brunch' and mid afternoon snack. I only ever shop once a week unless I happen to be near somewhere different that has items I like/good value. So today I was near a Tesco so I got a couple of BBQ pork packs for the freezer and some 5% mince but I probably won't go near there again for weeks. I just cook for two. I have regular LOs for lunch (so do plenty of veg for dinner). I have big meals so don't really snack but if you look at the menus people post you'll see snacks there.

So just to give you an idea.

Breakfasts: porage, cereal, eggs, fry up, baked beans, kippers
I tend not to have Speed food at breakfast but make up for it later.
Lunches: LO dinners, LO veg fried alongside cold meat and pickles, JPs with cottage cheese and pickles, frittata/omelette, soup
Dinners: Szechuan beef (made with LO beef from joint), braised steak with onions & mushrooms, spaghetti Bolognese (HM ready meal from freezer), gammon (cold slices from freezer after cooking joint) & chips, liver & onions, sausage tray bake, savoury mince with new potatoes

That's just a selection of regular meals from this week's plan then I use some veg every day from the list below.

Most weeks I buy (or already have in) potatoes, parsnips, onions, spring onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas, beetroot, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, celery
Just lately I've started buying some asparagus and courgettes but they're not essential. Occasionally I have swede and I like frozen leeks for soups and casseroles then I have green beans, broad beans and HM red cabbage in the freezer for days when I've run short of fresh. Plus the usual storecupboard stuff like pasta, rice, herbs etc.

Hope that helps a bit. Just keep asking.:)

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for teas
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion and beetroot
D: HB braised steak (inc. mushrooms and onions), SW roast potatoes and parsnips, cauli, broccoli, carrots
Syns: scrape of spread, weekend wine

There's so little cornflour (1 tsp shared) in the HB gravy:drool: that I'm ignoring it.:p

    Thanks for birthday wishes :)

Someone said I should post a menu so here goes.... problem is I usually know where I'm not doing things quite right but that doesn't make me solve the problem! I just consciously do it wrong :P

Brunch (woke up late so combined breakfast and lunch): Fry up made by my fiance, sadly we were out of mushrooms so it was lacking in speed (whoops, being out of something and not going the shop is also a reason I often don't be quite as on plan as I could...) but was otherwise free due to being cooked in frylight, fat removed, SW sausages etc. Used HEB for eggy bread (fried in frylight!)

Told myself if I wanted any snacks to day to have fruit due to no speed food in breakfast, but that breakfast was really filling so I haven't had any!

Dinner: Leftover cottage pie. I added half a bag of mixed frozen veg to the mince when cooking so plenty of speed :) approx 2 syns of margarine in the potato.

    HEA milk for tea

So, I know I'm lacking in speed today so if I want more snacks I'll make sure it's fruit. Not used up many syns! Have curly wurlys in for treats like this, but as I need more speed today I'll make myself grab fruit before grabbing chocolate :)

Hiya - reporting back after dinner to say the BBQ beef was lovely, I definitely recommend it. My only problem is we don't have Aldi near us so I'll only be able to get more of it occasionally.

Talking of doing SW on a budget, I popped into our local Coop earlier and bought peppers, green beans, tomatoes, Jersey royals and cucumber all reduced. I was hoping for some strawberries but I was out of luck.

Have a good evening everybody, better go and get the dishes done so I can put my feet up.

Evening all. I've not caught up yet, I did type out a fairly long message on Thursday and then lost it all. I lost 0.5lb in the first week of the new challenge. I was really disappointed as I'd really stepped up the exercise with 5 days of level 2 30 day shred, I was totally on plan with the food and did 2 SP days too, so I was expecting more :(.

Well done to all the losers and hugs to those who didn't get the results they wanted. Thanks Shala for the old & new chart!

Hi everyone, does a challenge week run from Monday to Sunday? As I was late joining, my starting weight for the challenge I think works out to be my week one weight, so my week one is effectively STS if that makes any kind of sense at all!!

Thanks for the explanation of speed/free etc as well. I think I get SP just from what I've seen online but EE was baffling me still - am I right in saying you need two thirds free and a third speed...? Plus only one HE of each? I have the list of S and P foods saved to my phone - so for EE I would need a third from the S list? Sorry to be a pain! I'm sure this has been explained hundreds of times before on here :o
