I've been trying to get extra fibre in my diet for some weeks now, just to keep the body plumbing working correctly.
I have tried all sorts: nuts, sweetcorn, oats, with little success, that is until recently.
I have been adding 6 - 8 prunes in my breakfast dish "overnight oats".
I have tried the ones in juice (in a tin), also I have a local health food store that sells unsweetened dried prunes, I can soak them in water and they are great. I am also going to try their unsweetened dried apricots too, I will be adding them to the oats too.
So far I haven't experienced any blocked plumbing
I hope this helps someone (sometimes grandma is correct with her book of tricks).
Just be careful with dried fruits, most of the ones are loaded with sugar, I was quite lucky to be able to find these unsweetened ones!
P.S
I would like to welcome all the new faces on the forum
Also well done to all the weigh in losers.
A word of caution: nuts, prunes and dried fruits all need to be synned or can be used as HEB in limited quantities (would need to look up as I very rarely use them myself as HEB).
Maman - I think your explanation about Speed, Protein, no more Super Free etc was very good and I think the newer people shouldn't get too confused about it.
I'm having an on plan EE day today as tomorrow is definitely going to be a very non on-plan day as going to France for the day for DH's birthday meal! So breakfast will be on the ferry - croissants/Pain chocolat probably; lunch will be a 3 course meal with wine. When we get home will probably be so full we won't need any dinner or perhaps something light like scrambled eggs on toast - so not looking like much Speed food tomorrow.
Planning on making up for the lack of Speed tomorrow with lots today and on Sunday:rotfl::rotfl:
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omlette with loads of mushrooms
L - crispbreads (HEB); 3 Apericubes (0.5); cornichons; beetroot; salad
D - steak; jacket potato with butter (4); mushrooms; onions & more salad!
HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day
Syns: 4.5 as above; may also have a couple of G&Ts (8) (no wine left and wasn't going to buy any this week with going to France tomorrow:money:)

Thank you for the explanation maman. To be honest I only speed-read it (getting 4 children ready for school at the moment ),will have a proper look this afternoon.
I came here this morning just to explain that,I know that after 4 years of SW,I should be more "up to speed"with what food is what ,but the 4 leaders our group has had in that time (yes!),have all just said to eat "plenty of bright, colourful food",or "lots of reds, oranges and yellows".So now that I want to get it right,I really don't know how
.
Will read again properly maman, but the lentil soup has onion, carrot, red lentils, garlic. The chilli is from Sw site, with tinned tomatoes, onion, garli, kidney beans.
Do either of these add to my intake of the-categories-of-food-everyone-at-SW-need-to-eat-so-SW-will-keep-changing-their-names-just-to-confuse-'em-all?
Will read properly later.Looks like I might have to go to group for the talk and getting some up-to-date books. Was hoping to go it alone......SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Morning all
Reporting in with a loss of 1lb to start off the new challenge. If I do that every week I'll make target.
Well done to all the losers so far and good luck to everyone yet to weigh in.
Have a good day and enjoy the weekend.

I've had a 1 1/2 lb loss after my first weigh in, not too bad as I had one day of not eating due to hospital tests, being referred to another consultant now as they are a bit concerned of my symptoms re. family history, should be within 2 weeks according to the GP but we will see. xIllegitimi non carborundumQuot Libra, Quam Breve TempusSPC NUMBER 025

It was definitely worth mentioning for the new people, or anyone without the SW info.
I always buy the canned prunes in Juice, never syrup too.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -

I agree it was worth mentioning - the only reason I posted was that new people wouldn't necessarily know that they would need to syn these fruits or use as HEB, unless they were or had attended a group.

Hello All
I have very nearly managed 3 days on plan - it's some kind of miracle! Really hoping I have my SW head back on again, and more importantly that it shows on the scales next week.
Just need to keep going for a few more days, then another few weeks...
Well done to all the losers (especially candyapple on your shinies and cos people keep getting us confused and I'm getting some of your glory). For reference I'm the bitter one :rotfl:

Loving the cartoon lois and :T on your loss, may it be the first of many.:)
Have a great time tomorrow denise. We'd more or less stopped buying wine in France except for fizz from our favourite champagne house. Same for general shopping except for a few French favourites. I suppose since the exchange rate's improved it's back to good value. Just looked up merguez and they're about 3 syns each:drool:.I've had a 1 1/2 lb loss after my first weigh in, not too bad as I had one day of not eating due to hospital tests, being referred to another consultant now as they are a bit concerned of my symptoms re. family history, should be within 2 weeks according to the GP but we will see. xHello All

Glad to hear you're on track, not for 'le weekend' which can be a big test. Good luck.

L: JP with prawns and picklessausage tray bake (courgette, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onion, garlic) with new potatoes and green veg (broccoli, asparagus, peas)
Syns: squirt of syrup, mayo, 2 syns for sausages, weekend wine:D0
