Can I ask, is it really possible to do SW without going to a class? and also can it be done on a budget? There is a new class opening very near me next week but I cannot really afford to go each week, also on the website the recipes look expensive and I don't have much money for extra food - the fruit on its own is a scary price ( I don't buy fruit except bananas sometimes). So what is the best way to start do you think? Hope someone can help me as I am 5' and weigh 11st 1lb also have some health issues, and am undergoing tests. Thank you x

Hi hanert  you're more than welcome to join us here and we have a challenge every few months which may help you keep on track, instead of going to group.

You can do SW cheaply, some great ideas already given to you. I love the frozen veg, we always have a bag of stir fry veg, spinach, corn and green beans in the freezer.

I think the stir fry veg is like £1.50 for a 650g bag.. I just bulk it out with extra broccoli and carrots, which are pretty cheap.

I had a look at foods high in cholesterol, thinking that we don't eat that many on SW and the main culprits for us are probably bacon and eggs which we probably eat 2 or 3 times a week.

Oats are meant to be good for bringing down cholesterol Lois.. I remember reading a study on it a while back.. does he like porridge for breakfast instead of bacon?

Been out all day today so only just got onto the laptop.

My sister's birthday so went to see her - it was a nightmare journey! Should only have taken about an hour once I got to the station but the train was nearly half an hour late; needed to pop into the bank near the station once I got there and had to queue up to change up my small change; then queue up to get it paid into my account and then queue again to see some about my credit car! Ended up in there for about 3/4 of an hour.

Finally got to my sisters at nearly 12.00!

Glad I'd had a good breakfast before getting the train - a fairly SW friendly cooked breakfast - didn't eat the sausage but needed to syn some oil which they cooked the mushrooms in, everything else was OK.

Lunch was scrambled eggs on toast - so no Speed at all! Glass of wine.

Dinner tonight was LO roast pork, fried up roasted veg; baked beans & mash (no milk or butter!)

So all in all not a proper EE day.

Having another glass of red tonight as well - been a hard day!

    Back on plan properly tomorrow.

Hello! I was directed here last week by Maman & have plucked up courage to ask if I pull up a chair would you mind if I sat quietly in the corner?

I've been doing SW since April last year and got to target in August having lost 2 stone. Lately though I've been floundering with it so have been lurking on here and on Frump to Fab for inspiration. I've been to group tonight and not weighed, just sat in on the new member talk again and stayed for image therapy. Feel motivated. I'm going to weigh myself at chemist tomorrow and hopefully get back on track this week. I'm determined to not have to pay if I sneak out of target range. My clothes still feel loose but my head is saying rein it in.

    Today I've had
Smoked mackerel salad for brunch as was up late. In total there's 200g smoked mackerel that I'm having over 2 days (lunch tomoz, too) so that's 4 Syns altogether.
    Half a melon
Tea was chicken, mashed carrot, mash sweet& white potatoes green beans & 100ml gravy using granules (1.5? Syns)
Having HEA cheese with HEB ryvita later with sliced gherkins & tomatoes.
    Had approx 2.5 litres water.

Walked 2 miles with the dog and husband in glorious sunshine.

Does this look ok? X x

Hi Wiz, I do Try to be as sweet as my name haha, marzipan is my weakness, I love the stuff.
Since doing SW I've been substituting marzipan for quark mixed with options powder with a drop of almond essence mixed in. Yum!
Beanie, I'll move my chair forward, thank you 😘 xx

    That's AMAZING!!!:T

You look great in that photo MrsR and very smart in your fascinator. Be back soon.

Glad you decided to join us marzipan. We're a friendly lot on here. Your menu for today looks just fine. Obviously on other days you'd have some breakfast. Let us know how you get on with your WI.:)

I had a small piece of cake tonight. A friend at dance class brought it as she had a big birthday. Only a finger of cake and just fruit (no icing, or marzipan;)). Other than that I've had a good day.
