    Hi again

Lantana - with an ovarian cyst AND a gall bladder problem I'm not surprised you've been in so much pain. I hope everything gets sorted out very soon. (((Hugs)))

Just back from the doctors where DH had an appointment to discuss his recent blood tests. He's on anti-coagulants following heart surgery and was also given a type 2 diabetes diagnosis last year so they keep a close eye on him. Today they said his cholesterol is too high (sigh) and he admitted to drinking too much :rotfl: and agreed to cut down so we'll be having more alcohol free days.

I had a look at foods high in cholesterol, thinking that we don't eat that many on SW and the main culprits for us are probably bacon and eggs which we probably eat 2 or 3 times a week.

Popped into our local Coop while we were out and picked up strawberries, clementines, aubergine, broccoli and iceberg lettuce, all reduced in price. :D

I also bought some prepared chicken and it isn't in the syncs directory  it's Loved by Us West Country cider and whole grain mustard chicken if anyone wants to have a look for it. I'll allow 5 syns just in case.

    LL :)

Well I lost 2 lbs at my first weigh in however I am convinced it was lighter clothing and not an actual loss of weigh as I did adhere exactly to plan. I do well during the week but weekends are my downfall :o However I am striving to do better this week!

2 pounds is good, clothing or otherwise!

Depending on your willpower, you might want to try doing a syn bank. It's worked well for me since the day I started SW and I know denise does it too. So instead of having 15 syns a day I look at it as 105 syns for the week starting from WI. I tend to be as syn free as I possibly can all week and save my syns for weekends. Roughly speaking I have about 80+ syns on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the remainder spread through the week for things like gravy and cornflour in sauces. My WI day is Thursday so I've plenty of time to settle down after the weekend.

It'll only work if you can cope without syns in the week or balance them out differently. I know some people look forward to their 15 syns each day or use them a lot in meals. Maybe worth a try to help you cope with weekends.

Or tell us what it is about weekends that's so hard and maybe we'll have some ideas.:)

I can't find that particular chicken lois. Plain is free but spatchcock garlic and herb is 5.5 for 100g.

My DH had high cholesterol at one time although doctors do seem to move the goalposts as to what they consider high at any given time. I think it can be a hereditary thing and not always linked to diet so even healthy eaters can have raised cholesterol.

I started having alcohol free days before I started SW otherwise it just wasn't going to work. There's an excellent cutting down/giving up thread on here that I use. I'd suggest that with a new month coming up you set yourselves a target for alcohol free days alongside your diary perhaps leaving a few spare for unexpected invitations.

Right have grabbed it and carried it screaming into the freezer and slammed the lid. OMG I can still hear it, mmmmmmmm frozen chocolate fudge cake.
