That's a really fantastic start Sympatea, a fantastic motivator.
Always keep your reason for doing SW in the forefront of your mind, you will succeed if they are your reasons.
Are you doing the next challenge?
I think thats really key to staying motivated Smedley, particularly on those pesky snack craving days, thanks to yourself & co for all the positive vibes, here's hoping I'll keep being a loser!
When is the next challenge?Started SW 16/04/15 - 4lb off so far!0 -
Evening all...just sticking my head in to say hello! Was planning to go back through the thread but there are too many pages. Well done to all you losers, and to everyone for sticking at it.
I am coming to the end of week 3 following the principles of Eat Nourish Glow and it's going really well. I would say it fits in well with SW, it's gluten free and I have cut out a lot of wheat and sugar too (had a a few terrible headaches at the start!!) Lost 7lbs in the first week and haven't weighed myself again, feeling a lot less bloated and enjoying it so not really thinking about it being a diet as such.
Hope it's ok for me to pop my head in and keep up with you all, have actually really been missing the thread!!xx0 -

When is the next challenge?
The current challenge will end on 3rd May, I am guessing Shala will announce another challenge after a short break.
Just keep your eyes peeled.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Good plan tweets. I feel so sad for people who've lost with SW and then say they've put it all back on. regular monitoring has to be the answer.
If you go to a group there's a leaflet they give you about maintaining at target but I've never read it.:o I believe the SW way is to have some more HEXs but much though I love cheese, if I have a choice between bread or wine, no contest!!:rotfl:
So I just have extra syns BUT monitor my weight regularly (some weighing but also how loose/tight clothes feel). Then if I feel I'm getting to top of target range I get strict with myself.
I wonder if the SW Online has a similar information page or download?
I have trawled the SW site, but there is no info available pre-target.
Maybe they offer it when one has reached target?
The thing is though, SW online is quite poor value after the initial 3 months (£20.00 /mth) or approx £12.00 /mth with offer.
I bet most people ditch the online SW after 3 months, and never ever get the post-target advice.
I guess one would learn during SW weight loss phase what foods were most likely to have caused the initial weight gain. After all, SW eating is a life changing habit, that I wish to adopt for life (don't want to disappear though).
A common sense approach, and self discipline is what is needed, but will it happen?
I have seen gastric band patients, lose weight, then manage to get even larger through poor self control.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Please can you put me down for 1 off for last week? Xx0

I've not heard any good reports of SW online. I suppose if it's impossible to get information any other way it's an option but once you get the hang of it I don't think it offers much.
I found an article on the SW website about being at target. It was mostly personal stories but this:
Once you’ve started losing weight with Food Optimising and reached your target, it can be hard to stop! Be prepared to have a few experimental weeks after reaching your target where you can try increasing and/or reducing Healthy Extras until you find the balance that’s right for you.
Don’t panic if you have a small gain – reduce your Healthy Extras slightly and remember that Food Optimising will get you back to where you want to be.
Be careful with foods which you know are your personal ‘danger zones’. It’s all too easy to slip back into old habits - overeating cakes, biscuits, chocolate and pastries, or fast foods like chips, burgers and pizzas. If it starts to happen, don’t hide away and stop going to your group. Have a chat with your Consultant, go back to Food Optimising 100% for a week, and then start introducing additional Healthy Extras, one at a time.
Body Magic is another great way to help you stay on target. Slimming World’s nutritionist, Dr. Jacquie Lavin says, ‘There’s a lot of research to suggest that people who are active are more successful at maintaining their weight than those who are not. The more exercise you do, the easier you should find it to control your weight.’
was the advice.
All pretty basic and obvious. I'd imagine the people who are at risk of regaining the weight are those who feel they can stop the 'diet' and go back to 'normal'.
Strange day here. I've had a SW breakfast (kippers and soda bread), probably just have coffee and half Crunchie at football for lunch. Then tonight I'm going to a dance that has nibbly buffet so it'll depend what's available. 100% back on it tomorrow whatever happens.0
