    Well done smedley :j

The chart sadly reminds me that I had grand plans of hitting target by the end of this challenge. Don't think I can lose 10lb in a week!

Maybe next challenge.... I really want to have got to target before my birthday which is the start of June. I guess I still have 6 WIs to go so it is possible but only if I can get my SW head back on properly and keep it there :o

Exercising hasn't been going brilliantly either but after a week of nothing and last week starting up again I am getting back on track there as well. I'm supposed to go for a C25K run tonight but the boy had an awful night and I've got loads to do today so whether I'll be asleep on the sofa by 7 or can actually get out is questionable!

Next weeks weigh in will be the last of the challenge:eek: I may not lose anything in this one :(

It's been a rollercoaster ride for me, hopefully I'll do one more challenge after this and then will have hit target weight!

    Morning,

Crabapple I feel your pain, I stood on the scales last night and got a nasty surprise! Really nasty!

Hopefully it comes down a bit for Saturday

I'm looking forward to the new Challenge

I just want to stuff my face all the time I'm not using any of it as an excuse but all these health issues are affecting my mood and I'm not myself at all - as for the gym I used to go 4 times a week and now I'm lucky if I go once a week so really what do I expect.

Time to get cracking on with it or go out to buy clothes in bigger sizes :( Not happening

Just totted up syns for the week and have 10 syns left for today - that's unusual for a Wednesday being the day before WI! No idea what I'll use them for but maybe a fruit split lolly 3.5; pink n white 2.5 which is 6 so will leave me with 4! Maybe I'll have a G&T later too.

    Having another EE day:

    B - mushroom omlette
L - ham salad sandwich including beetroot
D - Ras el hanout chicken skewers and warm couscous salad - from this month's magazine

HEA - will be milk in tea as usual
    HEB - bread
Syns - possibly as above but not sure

Have a good day everyone - looks like another nice one!

You're a great planner lush, which we all know is the secret of success with SW (well that and the other one;)). Your list looks good. I liked the list of sensible swaps in this months magazine for lunches on the go. I had no idea that McD's do a chicken and bacon salad. Being nosy, do you get the hotel money back from the sports body?

Thanks maman; I try to plan where I can then I can see what causes me to wobble/fall off track and hopefully tackle it the next time :) I might have to buy this month's magazine then :)

Nope we don't get any money back at all! Some teams have professional fundraisers and get their rooms paid from that, a lot of players got comp (well the spinals) so they have enough to suck it up for their hobby and those of us who travel with OHs and/or for the love of it have to bear the whole cost. Unless you ref or become a table official but I can't now (had planned to) as we have baby and I'd have to start in D2/3 which has 3 completely separate league weekends to us in D1. I shouldn't complain as its only four tournaments a year but the first was in October when I'd just come back to work then February, this one just gone then the mega pricey one in London in a weeks time...it just means I haven't managed to start saving anything towards Christmas/birthdays or car maintenance/insurance yet. I get commission at work now (first lot due this month) so going to have to start squirreling that away ASAP!

Oh, lush, I remember those days of carrying absolutely everything everywhere. It took forever to pack/unpack; it sometimes felt as if it wasn’t worth the effort – by the time we arrived it was nearly time to leave!

Talk of the frozen water reminded me that we used to freeze a gallon container of diluting juice whenever we went on a picnic. It meant that we had ready to serve iced drinks, just as Denise suggested.

Yeah; just with all bfs rugby stuff and now bulkier play bits for baby it seems a lot even though it's less than when she was new! I can't wait for the days when we can just take some colouring stuff and the portable dvd player with some films for her!
Ah good thinking re the juice - I'll definitely do that one!

On mine it's the new one until I log in then it goes back to the old one :S

    Today:
breakfast: didn't get chance to eat at home or prep and fruit as wonder barn has cut tooth 4 over night and spent ages howling as no pain relief would help :( I think I will have some ready brek which I have as an emergency stash at work and sub it in for a B choice. will have a banana too
lunch: salad (green pepper, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber) with ham and potato salad (baby potatoes, finely diced onion and 1.5 tbsp light salad cream) = 3syn (rounding up)
tea: as lunch but with salmon instead of ham and some pasta

Bf's mum has given me some of his brother's birthday cake but as she knows I'm being good it's 1 choc finger and the sliver of cake that goes with it! I'll call that the rest of my syns for the day

I'm all bloaty and ick today (that's what a weekend of hotel brekkies and meal deal lunches does to my insides :( ) but hoping to move my body along with plenty of fluids today.
Also going for a walk at lunch, approx. 1 mile up to town and back to get some birthday cards and tights (exciting life :P )

Good morning everyone, sorry I haven't been on here much in the last couple of weeks, just had a catch up now.

Thanks for the chart Shala, and I'm really pleased to hear your good news.

No loss to report just a +2lbs gain for me this week, last week was a STS. I don't think I'm going to be hitting my target this time!!:.
I went completely off plan in the Easter Hols, but I'm back on it this week and feeling determined!!

Well done all the losers and congrats on SOTW Smedley,

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done for SOTW Smedley. :T

Shala - I posted the following on Friday, you must have missed it.

I'm going to set myself an easier target for the next challenge instead of one that I know I'm unlikely to achieve. I always think making it too easy won't inspire me enough but it would be good to be able to pat myself on the back.

    LL :)

    Morning all

Reporting in this week with -1/2 lb please Shala. Still slow and steady, 1 lb to go to 2 stone. I think I need to do some exercise regularly as I'm not walking as much as I was.

Have a good day everyone, catch you later.

It's really worth pushing yourself for that final hurdle crabapple. I'd suggest making a plan and then writing everything down so you can keep tabs on yourself as you go and adjust if needed. I'm sure you'll feel better if you make the effort to go for your run tonight. OK you'll still be worn out on the sofa but just an hour or so later.;)

Even once a week at the gym shows you're hanging on in there and definitely don't buy new clothes. It's hard with the health problems but try and stuff your face with SW friendly food instead.:)

That sounds like a financial struggle with the rugby lush, especially the accommodation.:T for dedication. I'll post the bits from the magazine later but it's just one page of swaps for conventional (sandwich/crisps) meal deals. You'll probably know most of it so not worth the price of the magazine unless you fancy treating yourself.

:Ton having 10 syns left for the week denise. Perfect planning.....

I was pleased with myself last night. I'm not used to an evening WI and for the first time got that 'WI went OK so I'll have a treat' feeling. We still have a few pieces of all butter shortbread (late Christmas gift) left and they were calling to me. Fortunately I stuck with tea and didn't eat. I know I've got plenty of treats coming up this week so that would have been a waste.

So no meal plan as such today. I've had my lightest SW breakfast (HEX Puffed Wheat) and then out for monthly lunch including wine syns with a particular group of friends . Generally I'm greedy and don't want any more food for the day but if I do it'll be SW friendly.

I was just thinking about the recent subject "Emotional Eating".
Here is my personal take of what it is, and what we can do about it:

Let's throw out the red week, emotional eating happens any time in a month, in the majority of cases.

Intro: I think this type of eating is like a habit or emotional addiction, sugar addiction.

    1. I have had experiences in the past where people have been addicted to alcohol emotionally but not physically, ie, they do not get the shakes on withdrawal. These people can happily drink litres of alcohol each night without getting withdrawal symptoms. These people are emotionally addicted and it is a really bad habit.

    2. Sugar has the same effect on some people, they crave it for the short term effects of sugar.

Both of these instances have something in common, it takes willpower and a maybe a substitution to break the habit.

I guess I would be substituting sugar for sweeteners first, or instead of sweets eat maybe a home made simple banana with fruit salad, we have to trick the mind first, we would soon distract the brain and stomach by eating a simple fruit salad, and the bonus, it's FREE too.

I hope this helps someone, you can do something, but it will take effort and willpower to change years of bad habits.
The snacks make us fat (when abused).
