Mrs O set yourself small targets - I put £1 in a separate bank account each time I lost 1lb? It soon mounted up and I now have £70 to spend on summer clothes :)

First weigh in today as a target member and I'm out of target range oops ️hahah 2 weeks of being off it and having 2 Chinese 2 Indian and 1 pub lunch isn't conducive to weight loss or a weekend away with breakfast and wine lol I expected a bigger gain truthfully

Today I'm making minis bonnet :/ although debating changing my plan :/

Mini has a cold and just wants mummy cuddles today ;) it's a hard life ;)

Need to get organised for her party next week as well :/

    Keep trucking everyone xxxx

Frying eggs - I think the first thing is to get a small non-stick pan and only use it for eggs, nothing else. Eggs always start sticking after you've used them for frying something else.

I use a small non-stick pan with a little bit of water (not oil), heat the pan on just over half heat until the water starts to steam and then break the egg in and cover with a lid. The steam sets the top of the egg and the heat below cooks the white. Only takes a few minutes. This trick was shown to me by a salesman but it certainly seems to work - he called it a "froached egg" (half fried/half poached).

Bexta - I have the same problem with eggs although mine seems to be hampered by the fact that my non-stick pans really don't like me frying quorn sausages in frylight - they leave the pan in a bad state and eggs tend to stick in the same patches.

I have quite a few frying pans for different foods so there's one I only poach eggs in, one I fry eggs in, and others with similarly specific purposes (OCD, moi?!). For eggs, don't have the heat up too high and use a lid so the top of the egg cooks without having to splash it with oil. A glass lid is perfect as you can watch cooking progress without lifting the lid.

I'm just checking in here for ideas. I'm hoping to join SW when my referral comes through. Have done weight watchers a lot with varying degrees of success but a change is as good as a rest right and lots of friends do SW :)

Just trading to find meal ideas, especially breakfasts as I usually just have cereal, or toast, or both :o

So hello from me, I'm wiggly, have about 7st to lose allegedly but I don't want to do that, want to be a comfortable size 16/18. Hope I get my head around this quickly!

Hi Wiggly, welcome to the thread. Breakfasts are a challenge when bread and cereals are restricted, but there are plenty of free foods to choose from that leave your HEB for another meal: lean bacon, free sausages, beans, eggs, tomatoes, and mushrooms if you have time to cook, or fruit and fat free yogurt if not. Overnight oats are very popular amongst people here although I've never tried them myself. It uses your HEB for the porridge oats, but makes it more substantial with the addition of yogurt and fruit. I think the recipe is on the SW website, or maybe someone will be kind enough to post it.

We could be weight loss twins - I had that amount to lose when I started too, but I'll be happy if I can get to size 16/18. I'm a classic pear shape and need a size smaller in tops than bottoms.

I’m not a fan of “big” teams either maman, for the reasons you give (although I do quite like Arsenal – stems from when they weren’t spending barrowloads on players. I’ve always liked Southampton (because of Le Tiss) and Newcastle though.

Thanks for suggestions re bag & shoes. I’ve now settled on which shoes I’m keeping – and there won’t be a matching bag because there is no such thing, lol. I’d just like to get a bag that’s about the same colour; I just feel that introducing another colour altogether would be a bit odd. That’s what being 64 does to you – no rebelliousness left! Been in Primark, New Look, Debenhams, Pavers, M&S, Claire’s & the Bag Shop (mostly luggage!) today too. Will try TKMaxx this week some time. If that fails, I’ll order a bunch off the internet and see what that brings.

We had a lovely roast chicken dinner tonight too – mmmm!

I do much the same as meg, bexta. I cook until just set than put in oven on the warming plates (100C); it gets a delicate white top, but is still a bit runny (how I like it), while the rest of the breakfast items cook.

    Hello, Mrs O and wiggly!

Just as well I’m not on the challenge as it was +2 for me this morning. At least I was prepared for it.

So far today I’ve had (not made a meal plan yet, bad me)
Breakfast: hexb muesli, blueberries, splash milk
Snack: fry’s cream (needed sugar rush during today’s bag hunt)
Lunch: scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, toast (forgot I’d had my hexb already because nothing was written down!)
    Dinner: macaroni cheese, beetroot, tomatoes

This is hunners over my syns, but I don’t have anything else that I can make and I have my grandson for tea – no! I’m not a cannibal! ;)

I WILL do my meal planning tonight after grandson has gone home. I’m just off out to get him and then take him to his drama class.

ETA I found a bag today in TKMaxx which I like and which I think will be fine. :j I’ll have to try the lot together to check.

Good luck everyone! I’ll be back when the planning is done.

Thanks for the positive support guys - still no word from my consultant! Well its only been 5 days eh!

Goals - well I am on holiday from Sunday so want to feel a bit lighter before then, then 1 month until my Wedding Anniversary, 17 weeks until my next holiday and 21 weeks until a large family wedding so I have plenty of goals.

I think it is maintaining the motivation when I have so much to lose - it seems so daunting and I cannot imagine myself doing it because of the mammoth task ahead of me.

I will take it one day at a time - day time is fine - it is the dreaded evening when I start to fall apart - in bed by 7pm I think!

Hun change your weigh in day and consultant, x

Does anyone know how to make healthy fibre bars?

The ones online are either protein or fibre bars, either way they are both expensive and are loaded with sugar and fats.

    Thanks

My pancake pan I now use for fried egg - no oil just crack the egg when it's cooked on the bottom it lifts off the pan slightly so I then flip it over just long enough to cook the top White and then I still get a runny yolk :)
Mines a tefal crepe pan though

On the egg question, I'm another for using a lid on medium heat. I do have non stick pans (one large, one small) but I don't keep them exclusively for that. I use a lid from a casserole dish or an all purpose one that I have. I love fried eggs!

I always use my HEB for breakfast as I don't like yogurt or even fruit much. So across a week we'd have: scrambled eggs, fried eggs, baked beans all with a slice f toast and then porage or cereal another day, occasional kippers and sometimes a full English.

MrsO, it's true that I've got to target with virtual no exercise at all. And there are people with mobility problems that can't exercise but still lose but laziness is my reason;). I think exercise is good for toning and feel good but not essential for weightloss. I'm also a wine/savoury person. I was strict with myself when getting to target in that I stopped eating crisps and cheese at home and just had some very occasionally as a treat when out (so cheeseboard with a special meal or crisps on holiday). The savouries I ate were thinks like Tikka slices or frittata instead. With the wine, I stopped drinking during the week and just have my wine at weekends. I don't want to lead you into bad ways but what some of us do is use a 'syn bank' so rather than 15 syns a day we have 105 a week and subtract from that as we go. I eat almost syn free during the week and save them up for weekend wine!:j

greentiger I really think a coloured bag could work. there are lots around at the moment. You could pick a colour from your dress and they'd look fine with the neutral shoes. Strangely enough I like Arsenal too, they're not so arrogant as other 'big' clubs and when they buy our youngsters they do look after them.

Good luck for tonight lantanna and everyone else with a Monday WI.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs, HEA milk
L: cold beef, fried veg (inc. 2 small potatoes), beetroot
    D: out at nibbly party
Syns: squirt of sauce and whatever I have tonight

Last off plan meal tonight until Thursday.
