Iphone 5c battery drainage

It sounds like your battery is OK, mine dropped 8% overnight with Skype left on accidentally, Bluetooth on and a couple of e-mail apps running. No WiFi on.I have sent a couple of whatsapp messages and put the two posts on the forum and I am now on 89%
Within 2 hours the battery is down to 80%
I am thinking about deleting all the apps I have put on and then checking how much the battery drops over an hour.
Web browsing depletes the battery fairly quickly, but the worst rogue is Skype used with 2 way video running on 3G, it drains the battery in less than an hour!0 -
Over the hour my phone dropped 3%
So that's not huge. I can't understand why it drops fast over night.0 -
Switched my phone off last night when it was on a 100%
Turned it back on this morning and it came on at 100% but after it had fully loaded it was on 98%
So that isn't a big drop so does that mean the battery is ok ?
It sounds like it's a software issue then, I can't remember if you've mentioned it before, have you done a complete software restore via iTunes yet?====0 -
My Son done a full restore and then i set the phone up as a new account. It sounds like it's a software issue then, I can't remember if you've mentioned it before, have you done a complete software restore via iTunes yet?
The Genius bar adviser reset my phone and the installed back from a icloud backup.0 -
We have never done a restore with itunes.
Is it easy to do?
Will i have to set up from new again? As suppose the back ups might have the glitch ?0 -

Hey I asked you about an itunes restore back on the first page!! :wall:
Just messing. A full restore via iTunes (which installs the full latest os from scratch) is always the best way to resolve software glitches and software related battery drain. Your son may have just done a quick reset and if he has done all of the updates OTA since he had the phone then problems can have been be introduced along the way. Ideally then set it up as new rather than restore from iCloud (but you can try the restore from iCloud too). Even setting up from scratch will be quicker than trouble shooting all the possible issues.
Things that hammer the battery - push email (change to fetch), push notifications on apps such as facebook, news, weather etc, leaving location services on (I just have maps and weather set to when the app is in use).0 -
Have done a full restore on itunes.
I have only put whatsapp on my phone so far.
Will put the rest on tomorrow once i see how the battery lasts tonight.0 -

Good idea, if the battery doesn't drain tonight then slowly put the other apps back on. If you suddenly hit a drain, you'll have a better idea if it's app at fault.====0 -
Got up this morning and battery was on 43%
Had a look at battery usage
Usage 11 minutes
Standby 9 hours 8 minutes
I never touched the phone all night.0 -
Someone sent me this a while ago, I have not tried it yet, but it makes sense.
