Thanks all (I can't seem to multi-quote on my chromebook ). Being able to change the title of my diary makes me feel some positivity towards the new site . I am steadily warming to it as I find my way around...
I had a bit of a look at targets last night whilst Mrs SJ had control of the remote control (I can honestly say other than sport, and the occasional film or drama I don't watch TV). At the minute I have a £'s target for each months OP total. It feels like quite a small total so for added motivation I'm going to think of it in terms of a percentage of my actual mortgage payment. For now I'm aiming to pay a further 25% of mortgage payment per month, and looking back to January we managed to OP 28.9%. With a touch of rounding up, across the year this means we pay an extra 3 payments per year.
And with that I made an 83p TT whilst the kettle was doing its jobMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

£1.07 TT's this morning (if the amount is below 10p I add £1 to it ). We also have a second bid on the games bundle so nice and happy with that. I have a morning off with the tribe today. Just hoping the heavens stop for an hour so we can all head out on bikes.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

I could get used to this part time malarkey .
A morning at home included an hours dog walk with kids on scooters, then a leisurely lunch. Headed to work for 1pm (I am immensely fortunate to have a 10min journey to the office), then left at 5pm. A 4hr work day is a doddle! Home for 5.15pm and back out with the dogs till 6pm trying to beat the rain. Now feel fresh as a daisy and debating whether to head for a run before the football... Makes a change from am 11hr Monday, 8 hr Tuesday and 11hr Wednesday, after which I'm shattered by Thursday morning!
Mrs SJ is on hospital visit duty but due back for 7.30pm so I think I'll get changed into running kit now and that way it forces me to go when she gets in...after-all I'm already ready...! It'd only be a 30-40min run as I have a big one scheduled for later in the week.
Decluttering continues an I'm constantly on the lookout for things to discard. The amount of charger wires we have is amazing, so there's always an easy victory there!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Went for a run, managed to stay dry and only missed the first 8mins of the football. Typically that included the only goal I did have a thought whilst out though. As 2020 is a leap year, then 29th of Feb is a special opportunity to make a bonus OP... So I've taken my daily interest amount of £4.15, then multiplied it by 10 and pre set an OP of £41.50!
Please don't ask on the significance of 10 as I had to come up with something. I did consider multiplying by 29 as this is a significant number, but £120.35 seemed a rather large ad hoc OP... I am acutely aware that I have a further 10 days for my decision to be swayed
80p TT this morning whilst the kettle was boiling. And I've also decluttered a broken photo frame, 3 kids juice cups, 1 plastic container, 5 memorabilia tops and a training top .MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Oh I am liking that idea - my friend proposed to her (now) husband on the last leap day and they married the following August. That seemed a momentous thing to do but it was because he had had a health episode where she could not make a decision for him as she was not his next of kin...
This sounds much more up my street. My mortgage will have 29 more payments when we get to 29th Feb so I might multiply by 29 - my 29 on 29 (to go with my 20x20s for 2020) - but I might not make it a mortgage repayment, it might have to be a saving or a spending thing. I will have a think (and about yours, of course, as this is your idea)Save £12k in 2024 - #2 target is £5000 only £798.34 so far

Love the idea of a 29 Feb bonus OP. Mine will have to be small as it’s all tied up elsewhere... but think it’s a great idea (and it’ll be nicely marked on the mortgage statement!). Will have a think...Are the memorabilia tops worth listing on eBay? (By get rid of, I assume you’ve chucked them, but thought it might be worth checking if they’re worth anything?)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Like your thinking SJ, every chance you get.The date 29th Feb also has significant meaning to me. I can't do the o/p - but although working a 12 hour day that day, I am arranging a "special" meal - as 1st of all - that was the date my mortgage started - 8 years ago, and it was also my "goal" date to becoming MF Special dateWhen the date comes round, I always think - Where's my extra day's pay Would be nice - free moneyAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.194
