Sunday morning task completed, which is to round up my TT's for the week and OP them. This weeks total was a pleasing £6.04. I'm holding off rounding my mortgage account until tomorrow as our mortgage payment will go out tomorrow so I will adjust when I know the exact figure.
Quick dog walk beckons before settling down to the start of the mens tennis final. I do have to go out for an hour around 10.15, but that gives me a break. Then I'll pick it up again when I get back. Todays overall plan is tennis, 2 dog walks, 6mile run, more sport, food (lots of), and am going to sort our towels and bedding cupboard. Mrs SJ has agreed 3 towels each, so I'm taking that as 2 each as she'll never know (and if she does know it'll be too late anyway!). A also have some things ready to go in the loft so I'll have a mini tidy whilst I'm in there.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Missing in Action for a few days as life got in the way! Much needed day off today and planning a nice dog walk in crisp morning, and then much sitting around doing nothing!
Accounts are quite inactive which is a lovely feeling, but that means nothing to report. I OP'd £2.01 of savings account interest this morning nudging our balance lower.
Decluttering continues and so far I've got rid of at least 1 item everyday in 2020. I have a few little areas to tackle today and tomorrow which won't take more than 15mins each so isn't too daunting a task.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

This too, liking your style :rotfl:this certainly encourages me to declutter mini areas, :beer:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.192 -
Payday for Mrs SJ today so I repaid the 3 day to ourselves. Mrs SJ gets paid every 4 weeks which makes our accounting methods interesting at times, and temporary small loans from savings are needed, but always paid back.
I've also added £50 to our EF to help replenish after a few dips into it last year. We need a bit of work doing with our kitchen sink and taps so this cash will be used pretty quickly, but I suppose that's what its for!
De cluttering continues apace (thought haven't done anything today as of yet...I will get at least 1 thing in the leave the house piles) and I have a couple of areas ear marked for tomorrow and Sunday.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

I must be honest the whole decluttering thing feels like I'm swimming upstream! I really need Mrs SJ to get on board with it and sort her clothes out. I'm pretty happy with every room now apart from DD's (she's in between clothes sizes so has 2 sets really) and our bedroom. For our room there is literally no more I can with my stuff!
Anyway 43p TT for this morning to keep up with momentum! Looking at tomorrows forecast I really need to get tomorrows run done tonight. I did a long run on Thursday night though and I still have a touch of feeling in my legs (I'm getting older and recovery is taking longer), so it'll only be a short slow one and I need to find a flat route which isn't the easiest where we are. I'll see how motivated I am tonight at 6pm!!!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

Wow a busy few days. 13hrs at work on Sun and then 11 yesterday, so a tad jaded this morning. I have a 2hr presentation this morning to 60 and feeling very under prepared!! I know it'll be fine if I can the energy/enthusiasm/zest to present! Evening on the couch to look forward to...
Last weeks TT pot was OP'd on Sunday. Only amounted to £1.86, but every little helps. Couple of small TT's to start this week of 56p & 43p.
This month will see me complete 5yrs of this diary and mortgage challenge. A great time to reflect...and life looks much different at SJ towers. A phrase that I will be using in my presentation this morning is that "Hope is not an effective strategy", and this is definitely applicable to household finances. Without taking control things can't possibly work out how you want/dream and I no longer log onto banking with one eye closed whilst shielding myself from the expected body blow!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......

A very good insight Jimmy! Hope that the presentation went ok (bearing in mind that hope isn't an effective strategy there, either! ). Like you say, your five years has made a huge difference to life - I think your signature goes to show how a bit of focus can have life-changing effects!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thank you vix, its nice to know that there are others out there working hard on financial plans. Well presentation went ok. Not my best, but good enough! Another long day today and I'm now officially knackered. 41hrs worked Sun-Weds! Much needed (and earned) day off tomorrow I have 1 shelving unit waiting to be decluttered and a dog needing a big walk. Other than that I'm doing nothing...
Also I've refrained so far from complaining about the new site, and I'm not going to start just yet...but jeez its taking some warming to. There's not the same 'love' when logging on...stay positive everyone!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £61,892.24......
