  • Wet and wild start to the week and the wind made me wimp out of my run today! The rain I don't mind, but I hate running in the wind, so I made the excuse that my lurgy was too bad...! Very productive in work which is pleasing with a successful start of a new campaign that got a great reception.

£1.02 TT today, and 2 things for declutter; a pair of wellies that are now too small and a set of dumbbells that I have no recollection of accumulating! Grandparents brought 2 things into the house tonight though so I suppose we're break even... However on this occasion they will be put to good use!

Wind has been terrible here. Lots of trees on roads according the Highways report and the big road bridge has been closed two evenings running. Poor road commuters - that means pure misery getting home. I would have just argued it was safer that way, if challenged.

Busy few days with work and then DS2s deluge of after school clubs and activities. I dont think I've made it out on a dog walk before 8.45pm each night.

TT's have continued but little else going on. All calm in the bank accounts which is a lovely feeling. I've had my thoughts drifting again to the overpayment v pension debate, but am resisting tinkering any further! My afternoon job is to attack my wardrobe with a ruthless streak. I reckon I could easily send 50% to charity of stuff I haven't worn for at least 18months!

Good luck with the wardrobe SJ. I don't have a huge amount of clothes but I reckon I'm at about 70% not in circulation. 15% is probably party dresses, so letting myself off on that one as can't exactly wear them all the time, and keep telling myself I'll wear the other stuff once the things I do wear have worn out - but I know that won't happen! And socks seem to last longer than they used to, have more of them than anything else....

  • I'm of a similar thought process about wearing things out, and then i get more t shirts/jumpers for Christmas or birthdays and the wardrobe gets fuller...well enough is enough! Actually enough wasnt enough as I never got round to it. I capitalised on a decent afternoon weather wise and spent a couple of hours tidying the garden and routing through the garden toys etc... 1 bag of rubbish in the bin, 1 bin bag to the tip alongside some brushes and a mop that were past their used by date.

Now I intended to do the wardrobe today but...it seems we have a leaky kitchen tap so I'm about to tackle that having watched a few youtube video's, so wish me luck. I have work this afternoon and intending to be home for the Liv v Man Utd game where I will be in the prime spec on the couch, and suspect wardrobe may have to wait till next weekend.

TT made this morning, then I rounded up the weekly pot by a further 82p an sent it to mortgage. A nice £6 eliminated from the balance. 2 birthday this week, including DD which means that payday on Friday can't come soon enough!

The wardrobe may not take as long as you think - don't forget hours spent in Narnia equate to just a few minutes back in the real world :rotfl:

  • Narnia is a very apt description!!

Well phase one of the tap went quite comfortably. After a quick trip to B&Q I replaced a cartridge inside that was terribly corroded for the princely sum of £6.29, and the drip has gone! Then typically the tap handle doesn't turn properly, so when I inspected the inside of the tap had perished, grrr... So I need a return trip to B&Q but Mrs SJ has gone out and left me with a very poorly DS2. She'll be back for me to go to work but then I won't get chance for B&Q... So I think it'll have to be wrap him up and leave him in the car. Far from ideal but only option, but not until I've had a cup of tea!

2nd B&Q trip done. There and back in 22mins! In the end I replaced both taps and all working perfectly again, so feeling quite smug.

In work for a few hours now. Not a great deal to do and intending to be home for kick off at 4.30pm. I've moved some charity bags to the bedroom so I may well do a couple of drawers later so that I feel like I've made progress!

Well done on all of it, Jimmy! The admin of living takes up time too, and how great that you used it to learn new skills :)

Hope DS2 feels a bit better - and, erm, I hope that result satisfies you? My oldest nephew is a lifelong Liverpool fan, so at least I know one person thats pleased (sorry, if you're the other side. I always was).

The 'admin of living', what a great phrase. In fact the admin of a young family takes over! DS2 is rotten ill, he mentioned it hurts when he yawns (that is the total of his complaints as when he's its literally the only time in his life that he stops talking) so a quick look in his mouth and I thought tonsillitis. So a trip to docs and sure enough, 10 days of the worst tasting antibiotics I've ever known:(

54p TT and 50p TT for today and yesterday to keep ticking along and now eagerly awaiting payday on Friday. A run at lunchtime is definitely needed today for some clear head time!!
