You won't get me to conform...Instead I've committed to a decluttering challenge. I am intending to take some control back of the house! At least 1 item is leaving the house everyday for 2020... The garage will be de-junked!!!! There will be a tip run tomorrow, and bags prepped for CS shop following school run on Monday!

  • Oh, I like that idea, so long as you don't declutter the kids  in your frenzy :p

One item out for every day in 2020 :), but I'm sure I will take in more than 1 item per day :(

I'm sure Mrs SJ will bring in several items per week, and then factor in GP's purchasing of toys from charity shops that I invariably return :D. But I'm hoping I can keep us in negative accumulation!

OP'd the TT pot this morning and it sat at £4.55. Now this caused a dilemma as my mortgage balance became untidy again, grrr... So I OP's an extra 45p to round down the pence at least! So this morning we have tidy current and mortgage accounts :money:

Well I haven't managed a tip run as I'm going the pub instead for the afternoon .

Though I have decluttered 5 items to the charity shop bag :j

I also managed a 5 mile plod this morning so I suppose I've decluttered that Mars Bar I ate last night :D

So you're adding beer, and not subtracting the stuff that should go to the tip ... thats not negative accumulation :rotfl: which is a phrase I love *so* much :rotfl:

Nothing to report moneywise other than me having sorted a few receipts with petty cash in work. I have my expenses for December to submit on Friday and I've a big post it note on my desk as I did a fair amount of driving in December.

I am well and truly ahead in my 'negative accumulation' race. I've managed to banish/declutter something from the house everyday so far and most days it has been several things. Very early days but I am enjoying the adventure and am on the hunt for items to banish. I am determined that in 2020 I will reclaim the house!!

Payday for Mrs SJ on Friday which will give out current account a much needed post Christmas boost. It's looking very anaemic at present!

  • AFK - Indeed I have!!

Well I've been missing a bit this week. First week back in work after 3 weeks off and as usual I get hit with all kinds. I then missed a day for a funeral and have now been walloped with the lurgy again! So I'm sat in the office (thankfully only me in today) with little or no motivation - MSE forums to the rescue!

Financials - Mrs SJ payday today which gives a much needed boost to the current account. I sent £50 to our EF as we seem to have leaked a bit out of it last year and I've been a bit slow to replenish. Nothing major and we've only used it for what its intended (new washing machine, new fridge and so on). This mornings TT was 69p.

My declutter something everyday quest continues and this morning I added 2 chairs, that were well past their used by date, to the tip on my way to work (I drive past it so I have no excuse for not going) to yesterdays donation of an old kids bike to a friends little boy. My clothes, DS2's wardrobe, DDs wardrobe and the garage are the next major ones to tackle!
