Chromebook...I'll add that to the dilemma list!
£4.53 OP'd from the weeks TT pot :j. I tried to resist the temptation of OPing my £5 small change jar, but failed.......:money:MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Chromebooks are decent machines, I've had techie coworkers rave about them (not for doing techy things per se, but certainly for web browsing, basic office admin, etc). I don't think they're overly flexible (not sure if they have a disk drive to install software offline), but if you just want the basic functionality they seem perfectly good machines.0

I've done a little bit of reading up and am leaning towards a chrome book... for now...
I updated spreadsheet with today's OP's and couldn't resist a little fiddle with some permutations! My £99k goal on New Years Eve is tantalising and I now think we'll be less than £150 short. I have made big decision though...when the football season starts I'm confident of making £150 a month on MB (last season I was getting £300 some months)...so I'm going to OP half of my monthly total upto £100. Now I know MB won't last for ever but over my 8 remaining years of MFW plan I may be able to shave an extra 10-12months off and get closer to 7. If I can spare a few minutes in work tomorrow I'm going to have a play with spreadsheet!!
Full work day today so not much to report. Now making plans for caravan trip this coming weekend. We're heading straight from school pick up on Thursday and coming home Tuesday evening. Big decisions to be made... what teas do we have, what sandwich fillers, do we want cooked breakfasts etc... how much beer to take???
It's fair to say that we'll be under prepared as I have 2 x 11hr days and 1 8 hr. day to negotiate, whilst Mrs SJ has a work residential Tuesday/Wednesday. So I expect I'll be nipping supermarket on Thursday night, but that's standard for us and Aldi is only 10mins drive away. Caravan is only 60miles away, and mostly motorway, so we should be arriving for 5pm.
We do have a big spend on the horizon however as its DS2 birthday in August. Our eBay pot will pay for his presents, so just his party to pay for. Which reminds me, 5 more items sold tonight, and the remaining 73 relisted. 4 weeks ago we had 119 listed so I'm really pleased at the rate of sales. Need to get cracking on the bag of stuff that's still staring at me in the corner of the room.
Mrs SJ had a mini toy clear out yesterday (mainly broken stuff, but some things that don't get used anymore), only for grandma to bring fresh plastic tat from the charity shop and SIL bought some toys for DD... we'll never be minimalist!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
hiya All
Have noticed that my small change pot has been severely damaged by the fact that most places you go to in Cornwall require parking fees! Have kinda made it my mission to find the cheapest ones in each location! I have no problems in walking that bit further - I regard it as helping my aimed for weight loss! LOL
Must get organised with the eof bay asap. Am not helping my situation by having stuff hanging around waiting to go on there!
Well done SJ for getting so much stuff on there and keeping track of same! Enjoy your camping!Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)

Mine doesn't have a disk drive but you can buy separate and add at a later date if required.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Nice to read your check in lynn...
Final week of school for the boys this week, and DS1 is very excited about that. Got the weekly TT pot up and running with a meagre 10p but that's more than 1p that i have previously TT'd. Must apologise as i'm not sure whose diary mentioned this tactic but should i ever get 1p, i'm going to TT £1.01!
Long day ahead in work, but will nip out to post ebay stuff and find some time for spreadsheet fiddles mentioned last night.
Have a great day.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I'm trying to be pragmatic and sort things out as best I can but it's so hard, just a mine field, I'm so angry that we are in this. Position and I move been left to deal with it on my own...he can't 'deal with it.' I'm going to plead with the trustee about if I can put a charging order on the property before anything else, I think I have a good case with my circumstances. I want to keeepneverytung ok for the kids it's hard enough parents separating anyway0

Long day but productive so cant complain too much. Ebay postage sorted but miscalculated on 1 item so no extra money made on post.
I also managed some spreadsheet calculations and the extra £100 a month would shave 10 months off and see us finished in 6 more.... Thats provided we can keep on at the same levels as now. So the age of 45 is a possibility!
Well baby SJ is asleep in the time its taken to type this on my phone so our routine had worked and only taken 10 days to do. Feel quite pleased with myself (smug even). So its off downstairs to watch the final Fargo and then in bed for 10.30 :jMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
There's an app called Parkopedia which shows you car parks near you or near a postcode and shows you the prices. Means you can check in advance and make sure you choose the cheapest ones0

Baby SJ sleeping update - seeing as its the most important thing going on in our house I'd thought I'd report that I think we've all but cracked it! Slept through again till six :j. Big milestone as its starting to feel that we are in charge of the house again!! Mrs SJ is away over night with work so hoping she continues to be a good girl tonight...
TT'd 81p this morning. Bank account is looking ok again as child benefit paid this morning, my payday is next Monday so all monies have worked well for us again this month. 1 job for today is to sort out breakdown cover for the new car. Hoping it won't be more than £25 and with some cash back too hopefully :money:
3 school days to go, which means 3 days till a long weekend away in the caravan. I've not checked the 10 day forecast just yet as I don't want to look and be devastated if it's gonna be wet. I'd rather find out when we get up each the morning.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
