How does one access these accounts? Is this not a pay for service from Companies House? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Accounts and Directors info is free; though I think there's a limit to the number of companies you can look at (it might be 100, I'm not sure).0 -
I just wish that one of these days a PPC employee would just come on here and admit they work for a PPC but also say:- "You have got it all wrong, here is our side of the story". But no, they join this forum just to make sniping and negative remarks. Nothing more. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Well let's face it, you have to be a pretty inadequate and morally-suspect person to want to make a career in such an "industry" in the first place. Open and straightforward simply does not come with the territory.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I notice that MSE allow representative of the major players (vodofone , british gas etc) to post and answer problems , come on PE , CEL etc , now is the time to register a company representative !!!

Reminds me what happened over on the general consumer discussion thread on this forum a couple of years ago. A spokesman from one of the big energy companies joined the forum and correctly identified himself. He was there to try and defend all those dodgy sales teams who try and make you swich accounts by telling you (frankly) a pack of lies. He was adamant that his company was doing no wrong. It gave me great satisfaction to learn afterwards that the company had been fined millions of pounds for the just those practices and banned from doorstep selling. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I have contacted the VAT Helpline as a VAT-registered company and asked them to verify whether UKCPS Limited is VAT-registered or not. The reply was that they did not have this information; they can only check whether a VAT Number matches a certain company.
I would suggest that the way forward is for someone who has received an invoice from UKCPS Limited, has asked for a VAT invoice and has been refused to report UKCPS Limited using the report VAT fraud online link on GOV.UK. (I can't post links, so just search "report VAT fraud".). This person will need to identify hemself, and should agree to be a witness.
Any volunteers? :j0 -
VAT registration numbers are held EU-wide so you can access the EU database to check that a particular number is valid. http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatRequest.html
There is AFAIK no reverse lookup available where you enter a company name & are given the VAT registration number.0 -
a report has been made to the vat fraud people , 45 mins on the phone , they are not obliged to write back to you , unless (and this is the crux) they want you as a witness
another number is customs confidential on 0800 595 000
its almost like saying this helpline is a joke , our website is just smoke n mirrors
correct : "There is AFAIK no reverse lookup available where you enter a company name & are given the VAT registration number"
catch 220
