May I respectfully suggest you are incorrect about whether or not the Revenue care about PPCs' VAT and refer you to HMRC -v- VCS. Forget the result of either the case or appeal - but it does suggest that you are mistaken.

Indeed, the Revenue are tightening up. My son was recently investigated with regard to monies he received from a flat share. As it turned out he owed them a few hundred pounds going back over 5 years.

IF UKCPS are dodging v.a.t. they could owe thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Unfortunately I can't find anything that will find VAT numbers versus companies, only a checker (VIES) that will confirm if a VAT number is valid.
  • If VAT is not being charged on the ticket price it is fair to assume that the PCN does not represent a contractually agreed charge for the supply of parking
    Hence the reluctance to cooperate

Maybe their turnover's less than the VAT threshold (£75k, isn't it). Hmmm, maybe not.

No way is their turnover that low IMHO. Enfield Freddy did your colleague speak to a UKCPS staff member?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
