Really don't know how I'm going to get through the rest of today, though. A part of me wants to cancel lessons but I don't want to let people down.
    :)

Plod on Alex, you might even end up tired enough to sleep tonight:).

ETA: For LittleK's transport project, it might be worth taking him somewhere on a train and on a bus! Living in a rural place and loving cars as you do they're probably modes of transport he's unfamiliar with.
  • Hope you feel better soon Alex!

Regarding an earlier post - I may have had some grumps at you (and I think roundly kicked your behind on one occasion ;) ) but I certainly don't think you're a freeloader or whatever! In fact I absolutely agree with Maman, you easily do as much as Mrs K as far as I can see, and you do it off your own back :)

More hugs, and you are more than welcome regarding thanks for my various "codswallop" postings.

  • Maman you are so right.
My kids very excited by lifts and escalators for the same reason!

    :rotfl: Well, I survived ... ;)

Hopefully will go to sleep at a reasonable time, too.

Had not considered taking him on a bus ride, he's never been on one! Only been on a steam train too, so I think we'll arrange something. Thanks for the idea. :)

    I hope I do, too. :)

Think that's been the case on more than one occasion. :rotfl: It does seem like you and I come from different planets sometimes, HBS but I'd miss you not posting!

My son is a bit scared of lifts / escalators for some reason. Probably because it's a very rare occasion he sees / goes on one.

I'm going to try to get an earlier night tonight too:).

Perhaps you could fit in train/bus/escalators/lifts during half term or at weekends as MrsK is enjoying being involved.

Days out will give you the opportunity for more picnics and trying out packed meals that LittleK likes ready for school lunches.

:Tfor getting through today. Hope you feel better very soon:).

Don't forget the Black Country Living Museum, it isn't far if you're coming to Cosford anyway (I live in between the two).

So much for an earlier night, despite being very tired I didn't sleep well at all. Going to try again but wonder whether I'm a bit of a lost cause.

The next holiday Mrs K has off from work is Christmas, so she won't be able to do any half term activities. She can do weekends, though and has booked our son's birthday off work. He doesn't know this, so I think he'll be pleased we'll both be able to pick him up from school and perhaps do something that afternoon.

    Of course. :)

My step-father worked at Cosford for most of his life as part of the contracted service companies. I bet he'd have had some great behind the scenes stories for you if only he were still around.

If you're travelling down this far it might be worth staying the night & visiting Ironbridge the following day? I had many wonderful days out at Blists Hill Victorian Town as a child, and quite possibly one to Enginuity as an adult...

Thanks both. :D I'll look into all the things mentioned, not tonight though as still not well.

    Saturday 24th October, 2015.

    Dear Diary,

I'm starting to lose faith in myself so far as saving money goes, things aren't really going well and I've a few things I bought with a view to sell on that I'll be lucky to see the money back. Nothing at the moment I believe has a profit in, so it really is looking unlikely that I'll meet my target of £12,000 now.

Half term is upon us and son's birthday is getting closer. I've not planned anything for half term as I've been quite ill, only just starting to get a little better and still struggling to get anywhere close to enough sleep. Don't want to let my son down but equally a quiet week would be very welcome.

Over this week I've had yet another conversation with my wife about moving and not having to pay a mortgage. She's made it very clear that she wants to stay here even with all that entails. Personally, I think it's rather silly to be paying to live here and would like my son to grow up in my old childhood home. Not really sure how to get my wife to see sense, though judging by how many of you on here seem to think she's right, I probably ought not be writing this.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.
