Today has been quite mixed, I did something very stupid this morning after son went to school and have done no work despite planning to do some. However, I did manage to do some more regrouting in the bathroom this afternoon and I have spoken to the Head at my son's school. Had an interesting conversation with him in the end about education and teaching in general.
No progress on the savings. To be honest, I'm not really sure that I will be able to save more than the £30 per week at the moment as I'm not really very well.2018 totals:

Oh dear.
There seems to be a lot of odd things happen at and around the time of weddings. At the time of mine I wasn't on speaking terms with my parents and whilst they came, I can remember they were almost silent throughout the whole thing. Mrs K's parents were very vocal about the fact they didn't want their daughter marrying me. All but one of my so-called friends I haven't spoken to in years and I can't bear to look at the photographs. That said, next year will be our 10 year anniversary.Hi Alex, saving anything is a success, keep it up
Thanks.2018 totals:

Dear Diary,
We finally got to the castle! Son had a wonderful time there and has lots to tell his class about on Monday. Wasn't too expensive either, son got in for free as he's still under 5 and I got £1 off for the fact I'm still a student, declined to mention the fact I'm part time though. My wife made a nice picnic, so no money paid out to cafes today.
This evening I spent quite a long time cooking a nice family dinner which was a success and took my mind off things. A little while back I used to really hate cooking but as I'm getting better at it and trying new things, I'm starting to quite enjoy it. The MSE bonus is less eating out.
No savings progress but we've not been spending much money for the past week or so, either. I'm conscious that even though I do earn some money as well as looking after my son and parents, people on here view me as a good for nothing freeloader. I doubt anyone would say anything negative if this was my wife's position, though.
Yours Faithfully,
Alex.2018 totals:

I'm so glad you managed to get to the castle and that a good time was had by all!
I see you earning from your music teaching and furniture businesses, making a little more from buying and selling pens/cars etc when you can and taking a (wholly justified) payment from your parents for the work you do in their BTL company. Somehow you manage to do that along with your caring responsibilities for LittleK and your parents, volunteering and studying and working on refurbishing your home and many other domestic duties. In comparison MrsK seems to have something of a charmed life just doing her 9 to 5 and very little else that I'm aware of.
I've no idea how that translates as a 'good for nothing freeloader'.0 -
Alex do you honestly give a monkey's bum what us lot think?0

Alex - a big THANK YOU!! Battersea Pen Home can fix it0

Maman: Thanks.
Everything is only for a few hours per week, really. At the moment my biggest working commitment in terms of hours is the music teaching ... somehow seem to have managed to get one on a Sunday morning now. Not sure how that even happened!
Despite a good time being had by all at the castle, I seem to have caught another autumn cold.
Smallholding: I suppose I do.
Caz: So glad to hear that.Let me know what sort of job they do when you get the pen back, please.
